Not across the board. The L’Atitude 52°N Berlin can take strong still photos, but the available reviews do not establish that it beats Ray-Ban Meta overall. T3 judged its photos arguably better than first-generation Meta’s, using preview software; TechRadar later found its stills comparable to second-generation Meta’s, while Meta’s 3K video out-resolved the Berlin’s 1080p video. The answer depends on which Meta generation and capture mode you mean.
What camera does the L’Atitude 52°N Berlin have?
L’Atitude 52°N lists a 12MP Sony IMX681 sensor, a 107° field of view, portrait and landscape capture, and 1080p video at 30 frames per second for the Berlin. Clips can run from 30 seconds up to three minutes. The company also lists 32GB of onboard storage. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test measurements. The company offers Berlin and Milan frame designs, with optional photochromic lenses. The distinction may matter for fit: T3 found the Berlin relatively large and suggested that people with smaller heads consider another design. T3’s hands-on review discusses the frame and its launch configuration.

Against first-generation Meta: T3’s qualified edge
T3 News Editor Rik Henderson wrote that the Berlin’s photo quality was “arguably better” than that of first-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses. He also described the Berlin style as more contemporary. That judgment came with important context: T3 tested preview firmware and an early app, and Henderson reported missed or delayed image transfers, including pictures that seemed not to reach the app. It is evidence of a promising photo result in that test, not a definitive camera ranking.

Against second-generation Meta: comparable stills
In an August 2026 review based on a week of use, TechRadar Managing Editor Josephine Watson found the Berlin’s still photos “comparable to results from my second-generation Meta Ray-bans.” She said framing felt natural overall, though some shots came out “a little wonky.” This was a reviewer’s field test, not a controlled side-by-side laboratory comparison. The evidence therefore supports a narrower conclusion than “beats Meta”: one reviewer preferred the Berlin’s photos to first-generation Meta’s under preview-software conditions, while a later reviewer found its stills comparable to second-generation Meta’s. Neither supports a universal win across generations, scenes, or users.

Does the Berlin beat Meta for video?
No, not on maximum resolution in the comparison reported by TechRadar. The Berlin records 1080p at 30fps; Watson praised its stabilized video but said it “pales against the latest Meta Ray-Ban’s 3K capture.” That makes the Berlin’s video a weaker choice if resolution is the deciding factor. The review did not establish a controlled performance comparison for every video condition.

How reliable are capture and transfers?
Camera quality is only useful if capture and transfer work consistently. T3 reported occasional delayed or missing image transfers on the preview firmware and early app it tested. Tom’s Guide later said a firmware update improved interaction and Bluetooth behavior but did not remove the problems; its reviewer encountered them roughly once every two to three uses. That frequency describes the reviewer’s experience, not a measured failure rate across all owners. Tom’s Guide’s review includes its reliability assessment.

Because these reports reflect different review periods and software states, they do not prove how the glasses behave with the latest firmware. If dependable capture and quick phone transfers matter more than occasional strong photos, treat the reported glitches as a meaningful buying risk and check current owner feedback before purchasing.
What else should buyers weigh?
Travel-oriented AI
Tom’s Guide found the Berlin’s AI tour guide useful while traveling, but less compelling for everyday use, and criticized the product’s price relative to its capabilities. Its appeal is therefore more specific than a general-purpose AI upgrade: the travel feature may matter if it fits how you use glasses, but it does not change the camera comparison.

Price and battery claims
T3 reported May 2026 launch prices of £349 / $399 / €399, rising to £389 / $449 / €449 with photochromic lenses. These are launch-period figures, not verified current prices. T3 also reported a 200mAh battery and a claim of up to six hours outside the case. Tom’s Guide listed a $399 starting price and a case supporting six full recharges. Check the seller’s current regional price and configuration before buying.
Privacy signals
Meta says its glasses use a blinking white capture LED to indicate recording and that covering or disabling the light automatically disables the camera. Meta’s July 2026 explanation describes Meta’s own design. The reviewed L’Atitude materials do not provide enough comparable information to conclude that its privacy signaling is better or worse.

Who should choose the L’Atitude Berlin?
- Consider it if you prioritize still photography, like the frame design, and value its travel-oriented features. Reviews describe its stills as strong, with one comparison favoring them over first-generation Meta and another finding them comparable to second-generation Meta.
- Look elsewhere or compare carefully if higher-resolution video is essential: the Berlin’s listed maximum is 1080p/30fps, and TechRadar contrasted it with Meta’s 3K capture.
- Be cautious if seamless controls and transfers are essential. Reviewers reported intermittent issues across preview and later software, even though an update improved them.
- Try the fit if possible. T3 found Berlin large, and L’Atitude also offers a Milan design.
The product specifications, prices, software, and availability may change. The reviews cited here do not include a controlled laboratory camera comparison, so the fairest verdict is mode-specific: the Berlin is a credible still-photo contender, not a proven all-around camera winner over Ray-Ban Meta.
