It depends which “Latency Optimizer” you mean. A SourceForge listing for Badosoft’s Windows program labels it free, but reports its latest update as March 12, 2019. That listing does not establish whether Badosoft still distributes the program or what its current terms are. Other utilities with similar names have different owners and licensing.
What “free” means for Badosoft’s Latency Optimizer
The available SourceForge listing labels Badosoft’s Latency Optimizer “Free.” It also reports a latest update of March 12, 2019. That is evidence of how the listing describes the software, not confirmation that the product is currently maintained, officially available from Badosoft, or still offered under the same terms.
In practical terms, the best-supported answer is: the listing says free, but the program’s present-day availability and terms are not established. Do not assume the old listing guarantees a current download, ongoing support, or a particular set of included features.

“Latency Optimizer” is not a unique product name. AdiruNetwork has a separate Windows project with that name. Its page describes adjustments involving areas such as timer settings, power plans, services, drivers, DNS, memory, audio, and mouse settings. Those are the project’s stated functions, not independent proof that changing them improves performance.

- Blazing-fast WiFi 7 boosts tri-band throughput up to 12000 Mbps with 320 MHz channels of 6 GHz band, Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4K-QAM
- Powerful wired network capacity of up to 20G with one 2.5G WAN port and seven 2.5G LAN ports.
- High-performance quad-core 2.0GHz CPU with robust cooling, 2GB RAM and eight internal antennas providing up to 3000 sq. ft. of range.
- Smart Home Master makes it easy to set up functional subnetwork (up to 3 SSIDs) for IoT devices and VPNs
- ROG-exclusive Gaming Network streamlines Triple-Level Game Acceleration setup and connections through convenient SSIDs
The associated AdiruNetwork GitHub repository identifies an MIT license and shows a version 1.0 release dated June 5, 2023. Those details apply to that project, not to Badosoft’s software. Check the publisher and source before downloading a program with a familiar name.
Free tiers vary among gaming optimizers
If you are considering a gaming optimizer rather than specifically looking for Badosoft’s program, “free” can mean a fully available core product, a limited number of changes, or only a small starter set. The following are vendor-stated terms, not a like-for-like independent comparison.
Rank #2
- Beyond-fast WiFi 7 (802.11be) with new 320MHz channels in the 6 GHz band and 4096-QAM significantly increases network capacity and throughput, with speeds of up to 30 Gbps
- Multi-link Operation links to multiple bands at the same time to ensure stable internet connections and efficient data transfers
- Cutting-edge external dual-feeding antennas boost coverage by providing high efficiency and significantly enhanced signal strength
- Maximized wired connectivity and flexibility with dual 10G ports and quad 2.5G ports
- Triple-Level Game Acceleration - The GT-BE98 Pro boosts your PC gaming traffic every step of the way, from your PC gaming port all the way to the game server.
| Product | What the vendor lists as free | Paid option or limit |
|---|---|---|
| RESET FPS Booster | The core optimizer, including listed features such as game profiles, backups, restore points, a change log, and a performance monitor. | FrameBoost is premium. The vendor page displayed €19.99 once or €2.99 monthly, and listed version 1.3.3 with a September 28, 2026 release date. Features and prices can change. |
| Hone | A free plan with 10 optimizations; referrals can raise the limit to 15. | Premium removes the limit and adds premium-only features. The vendor describes support for Windows 10 and 11. |
| EMTweaks | Three working tweaks in its $0 tier. | The vendor displayed one-time tiers of $9.99 Basic, $14.99 Standard, $24.99 Advanced, and $29.99 Pro. These are the page’s observed commercial terms and may change. |
RESET’s descriptions of previews and per-change backups may be useful when judging how much control you have over system changes. Its FrameBoost page also describes a trade-off between full-resolution motion estimation and a lower-latency mode that produces softer generated frames. That specific trade-off is about FrameBoost; it should not be assumed to apply to every optimizer.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat to check before installing or paying
- Confirm the publisher. Similar names do not establish that two downloads are the same product. Check the software’s publisher, version, and official distribution source.
- Read the free-tier boundary. Find out whether “free” includes the features you need, caps the number of optimizations, or leaves particular tools behind a paid tier.
- Understand the billing model. A one-time purchase, recurring subscription, and free tier with feature limits have different costs over time. Verify the current terms on the vendor’s page before purchasing.
- Look for a preview and rollback path. Prefer tools that show which settings they will change and provide a way to undo individual changes or restore the previous configuration.
- Check Windows compatibility. Confirm that the specific product supports your Windows version; a claim about one utility does not establish compatibility for another.
- Separate local tuning from internet routing. A program may adjust supported Windows or local-network settings, but that does not give it control over your ISP’s route, Wi-Fi conditions, distance to the game server, or server load.
- Look for meaningful performance evidence. Vendor feature descriptions and pricing are not independent benchmarks. A general promise of reduced latency does not show that a tool will help every PC or game.
Can a free optimizer reduce ping?
Do not treat “latency optimization” as a guarantee of lower ping. Hone says it cannot control an ISP, Wi-Fi quality, distance to a game server, or server load. EMTweaks says its Ping Stabilizer does not lower ping and describes it as reducing spikes instead. Both are vendor statements, not independent test results.

That distinction matters: a tool that changes local settings may affect a particular system or symptom, but it cannot necessarily shorten the network route to a remote server. The available product information does not establish a common independent benchmark or prove that any of these utilities will reduce latency on every system or game.
