Last Asylum: Plague uses banner-based hero recruitment, and there is no single, verified pity number that applies to every banner. Open the active banner’s details panel before spending to see its rarity rates, featured-hero rule, pull cost, pity threshold, and whether progress carries over. Duplicate epigraphs and Raven gear are usually progression materials for stars, upgrades, or fusion, so a repeat is not automatically wasted.
What Last Asylum: Plague is and why summoning matters
Last Asylum: Plague is a free-to-play strategy and simulation game about operating a sanctuary, treating survivors, collecting supplies, improving heroes, and reclaiming ruined territory. Its official premise is summarized by the line “One sanctuary. One doctor. One last chance!” Summoning matters because recruited heroes determine the squads you can field for treatment, supply runs, combat and territory recovery; duplicate items then provide one of the main ways to strengthen the roster you already use.
Google Play lists the game for Android and Windows, with more than 10 million downloads and a 4.7-star rating from 343,000 reviews. That listing was updated September 8, 2026. It also identifies in-app purchases and random-item purchases, so treat every pull as a chance-based purchase rather than a guaranteed character purchase.
How hero summoning works
Use the current banner, not an old guide
Hero recruitment is organized into standard and featured (rate-up) banners. Community coverage identifies rarity tiers including SR, SSR and UR, but the exact percentages and featured rules can change with an update. The client’s banner information panel is therefore the controlling reference for the banner currently on your account.
- Open the Summon or Recruitment screen from the game’s main menu.
- Select the standard banner or the currently featured banner.
- Open the banner’s Details, Rates, or Rules panel before buying a pull.
- Record the displayed currency cost for one pull and for a multi-pull, the rarity rates, the featured-hero probability, the pity threshold, and the stated carry-over rule.
- Spend only after checking that the banner’s eligible hero pool matches the faction or squad you are building.
- After a pull, inspect the result and your duplicate inventory; do not immediately convert every repeat until you know which copies your upgrade path requires.
A multi-pull is not evidence of a universal guaranteed rarity unless the live rules panel explicitly says so. Likewise, a rate-up label does not by itself establish a guaranteed featured hero at pity. Those terms are banner-specific.
What to compare before choosing a banner
When two banners are available, compare the values shown in their own rules panels rather than relying on a remembered number from a guide. The useful comparison is:
| Comparison point | What to verify in the client | Why it changes the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Featured hero | Name, faction, role and whether the hero is exclusive to the banner | A higher rarity is not helpful if the hero does not fit your active squad. |
| Rarity table | SR, SSR and UR rates, plus any guaranteed slot in a multi-pull | Shows the actual chance of each tier on that banner. |
| Pity threshold | Number of eligible pulls or other milestone stated by the banner | Determines how much currency is needed before a guarantee. |
| Featured guarantee | Whether the pity reward is the featured hero, a hero from a pool, or only a high-rarity result | A high-rarity guarantee can still produce an off-banner hero. |
| Carry-over | Whether progress survives banner expiry and which future banners share the counter | Changing banners can otherwise reset or separate your progress. |
| Pull cost | Single and ten-pull prices, discounts, tickets and currency type | Lets you calculate the real cost of reaching the displayed milestone. |
| Duplicate value | Copies required for stars, upgrades or fusion and the destination item’s eligibility | A banner may be more valuable when its repeats directly improve your main lineup. |
If a row is absent from the details panel, regard it as unconfirmed rather than filling it with a number from a third-party guide. Community pages can lag behind a balance or banner-rule update.
Is there a pity system?
Hero-banner pity is not one universal rule
Community descriptions refer to pity as a banner milestone and describe carry-over conditions that can differ by banner type and update. However, the available evidence does not establish one current pity number for every hero banner. The safe statement is that Last Asylum has pity-like guarantees in some systems, while the threshold and carry-over behavior depend on the active banner or event.
Before pulling, read the exact wording for three separate questions: what counts toward pity, what reward is guaranteed at the milestone, and what happens when the banner ends. A counter may apply only to that banner, to a family of banners, or to a specified future banner group. Do not assume that a standard-banner counter transfers to a featured banner, or that a featured counter transfers to the next event, unless the rules explicitly say so.
How to track your own progress
- Write down the counter shown in the banner panel before your first pull.
- Keep a screenshot or note of the banner name and end date, especially when a limited event is running.
- Count only pulls the rules identify as eligible; free tickets, discounted pulls or different summon types may be excluded.
- After a guaranteed result, check whether the counter reset, continued, or moved to a new value.
- When the banner changes, verify the new panel instead of carrying your old count forward manually.
This record prevents the most common mistake: spending because a guide says you are “close to pity” when the current banner uses a different counter.
The Dwarf Mine guarantee is a separate mechanic
The Dwarf Mine event documents probability scaling on repeated digs within a floor. As you dig on that floor, the chance of the special reward changes; after the event’s stated maximum number of digs, the special reward is guaranteed and the floor advances. That is evidence for a floor-based event pity mechanic, not proof that hero recruitment uses the same threshold, counter or carry-over behavior.
Use the Dwarf Mine rules as an example of why the game’s systems must be read separately. An event guarantee can be deterministic after a fixed number of actions while a hero banner can use a different milestone, a shared counter, or no stated carry-over. Check the event panel each time it returns because its floor, reward and limits are its own rules.
Are duplicate heroes, epigraphs and Raven gear useful?
Duplicate epigraphs
A duplicate epigraph can be used to raise stars or advance an existing epigraph instead of being discarded. The exact copy requirement, material cost and eligible epigraph classes vary, so open the target epigraph’s upgrade screen before confirming. The destination item—not the duplicate’s name alone—determines whether the copy can be consumed.

Duplicate Raven gear
Raven gear follows the same broad principle: duplicate pieces can support stronger equipment through upgrading or fusion. The game may restrict which pieces can be fused or which materials are required. Confirm the recipe in the current client, because a community guide’s star cost or fusion formula can become outdated after an update.
Duplicate heroes
Hero-copy conversion is not documented with a complete, current cost table in the available sources. Do not assume that a duplicate hero follows the same rules as an epigraph or a Raven item. Inspect the hero’s advancement, awakening or exchange screen to see whether the copy is consumed directly, converted into another resource, or reserved for a later system.

A safe duplicate-management routine
- Identify your active build. Mark the faction, role and squad you are investing in now rather than trying to develop every character and item at once.
- Keep matching copies. Retain duplicates that meet the faction, squad or build requirements of your current lineup.
- Open the destination screen. Select the epigraph, hero or Raven gear piece you intend to improve and read the required copies and materials.
- Check eligibility. Make sure the duplicate belongs to the exact item class the upgrade or fusion screen accepts.
- Concentrate scarce materials. Leveling every duplicate immediately spreads resources and can delay the power increase from your main squad.
- Confirm once. Review the resulting star level, skill or equipment tier before tapping the final upgrade or fusion button.
Keeping a duplicate has an opportunity cost: inventory space and a delayed conversion. Consuming it has a different risk: you may lose a copy needed for a higher star level or a faction-specific build. If the client does not show a clear use, hold the copy until the destination and recipe are established.
How to spend summon currency without wasting it
Set a target before pulling
Choose one objective—obtaining a featured hero, reaching a displayed pity milestone, or collecting copies for an existing upgrade. A banner can be attractive for its UR rate but still be inefficient if your account needs a particular faction or support role.
Calculate the commitment
Multiply the banner’s displayed cost per eligible pull by the remaining pulls to its stated milestone, then subtract tickets or discounts that the rules say count. This is a planning calculation, not a promise that every pull produces a useful result. If the banner does not state a threshold, do not invent one for budgeting.
Stop when the objective is met
Once you obtain the featured hero or the copies your build can use, reassess before spending more. Extra copies may improve stars, but the client’s required copy count and material cost should determine whether another banner is a better use of currency.

Common mistakes and how to fix them
Using a universal pity number
Symptom: a guide quotes one number for every banner. Fix: open the current Details or Rates panel and use only its stated threshold and eligible pull types.
Assuming rate-up means guaranteed featured
Symptom: a high-rarity result is expected to be the advertised hero. Fix: read whether the banner guarantees the featured hero or merely guarantees a rarity tier or a pool result.
Assuming pity carries over
Symptom: progress appears to disappear after a banner change. Fix: verify the carry-over clause before switching; counters may be isolated by banner type or update.
Recommended Free Tools
Burning every duplicate
Symptom: an upgrade screen later asks for a copy you already converted. Fix: keep duplicates until the destination item, copy cost and faction requirement are visible.

Applying Dwarf Mine rules to heroes
Symptom: a player expects a fixed number of hero pulls because a mine floor has a guarantee. Fix: treat the mine’s floor counter as event-specific and read the hero banner’s own rules.
What is known—and what is not
| Question | Established answer |
|---|---|
| Are heroes summoned from banners? | Yes. Standard and featured/rate-up banners are described, with SR, SSR and UR rarity tiers. |
| Is there one current pity number for all hero banners? | No universal number is established; thresholds are live-client and banner-specific. |
| Can pity carry over? | Carry-over can vary by banner type and update; use the active banner’s wording. |
| Are duplicate epigraphs useful? | Yes. They can raise stars or advance an existing epigraph, subject to the item’s current requirements. |
| Can duplicate Raven gear help progression? | Yes. Duplicate pieces can support upgrading or fusion when the current recipe permits it. |
| Is there a complete duplicate-cost table? | Not in the available documentation. The in-game upgrade screen is authoritative for each item. |
| Does Dwarf Mine prove hero-banner pity rules? | No. Its floor guarantee is a separate event mechanic. |
Practical checklist before your next pull
- Confirm the banner name and featured hero.
- Read the SR, SSR and UR rates shown in the live panel.
- Check the single-pull and multi-pull currency cost.
- Find the exact pity threshold and identify what reward it guarantees.
- Confirm which pull types count and whether progress carries over.
- Decide what duplicate result your current squad can use.
- Keep enough currency for the commitment you have calculated.
- Save a screenshot if the banner is limited or the rules are easy to misread.
Bottom line for free-to-play and paying players
Summon by the rules displayed in the banner you are actually viewing, not by a permanent number copied from an older guide. Use featured banners when the hero fits your faction and role, treat duplicates as potential progression materials, and reserve scarce resources for the lineup you are genuinely developing. The Dwarf Mine’s guaranteed floor reward confirms that some Last Asylum systems use pity-like protection, but it cannot substitute for the hero banner’s own threshold and carry-over text.
