Labelbox announced more than $100 million in Series E financing in 2026, combining equity with a credit facility at a $1.25 billion pre-money valuation. Infinitum Partners led the round, which Labelbox says will fund Horizon reinforcement-learning infrastructure and Recursion Managed Agents for enterprise workflows.

What Labelbox announced

The Series E is a financing package rather than an all-equity round. Labelbox has not disclosed how much of the package is equity, the size of the credit facility, or the identity of the credit provider. That distinction matters because debt financing does not dilute shareholders in the same way as newly issued equity, while the pre-money valuation applies to the company immediately before the equity portion of a round.

Infinitum Partners led the financing. Wipro Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), B Capital, Tau Ventures and Snowpoint Ventures were among the participating investors.

How to interpret the valuation

A pre-money valuation is the negotiated value of a company before new equity is added. The post-money value would depend on the amount of equity issued, which Labelbox has not broken out from the credit facility. It is therefore not possible to calculate a precise post-money valuation or the ownership percentage sold from the announcement alone.

Labelbox’s reported business momentum

The company linked the financing to the following operating claims. These figures are Labelbox-reported, not independently audited in the announcement.

Metric Reported result Qualification
Customers More than 400 Company figure for 2026
Share of leading U.S. AI labs More than 90% Labelbox describes these customers as leading frontier AI labs and hyperscalers
Year-over-year growth More than fivefold Company-reported growth in 2026
Profitability Profitable Labelbox says it reached profitability in 2026; audited profit was not disclosed

What the financing is intended to fund

Horizon: reinforcement-learning environments and evaluation

Horizon is positioned as infrastructure for frontier AI labs and hyperscalers. Labelbox says it supplies simulated environments in which a model attempts complex, multi-step tasks, receives calibrated rewards or rubric-based feedback, and repeats the work to improve.

The product combines three elements: environments that represent a task or workflow, expert feedback that grades the model’s behavior, and evaluation infrastructure that measures whether performance is improving. In practical terms, a lab can use the system to expose a model to repeated practice rather than relying only on static training examples.

The quality of those environments and reward signals is critical. A simulated task that fails to represent real constraints can teach a model shortcuts that do not transfer to production. Rubrics also need to distinguish a genuinely useful result from an answer that merely looks plausible.

Recursion Managed Agents: agents inside existing business software

Recursion Managed Agents targets enterprise teams that want autonomous software to operate across applications they already use. A run can begin from a schedule, alert, ticket, webhook or API call. The agent then coordinates actions across tools instead of being limited to a single chat interface.

Labelbox says outputs are graded against defined standards and that those graded results are fed into memory so later runs can improve. Before offering the system to enterprise customers, the company says it was running more than 50 internal agents across its own functions.

This design makes evaluation part of operations: each run has an expected standard, a way to score the result and a feedback path for future runs. Buyers still need to examine how permissions, failed actions, human approval gates, audit logs, data retention and rollback are handled in their specific applications; those implementation terms were not detailed in the financing announcement.

Why the two products are being funded together

Labelbox is presenting Horizon and Recursion Managed Agents as connected layers. Horizon addresses the sandbox, feedback and evaluation work needed to improve model behavior. Managed Agents applies those capabilities to recurring business processes, where performance can be measured over many executions. The intended strategy is a loop in which models practice, their work is graded, and the resulting signals improve later runs.

What the round signals about Labelbox’s strategy

The financing places Labelbox between model development infrastructure and enterprise automation. Its stated target customers range from frontier research organizations that need realistic reinforcement-learning tasks to companies that need agents to complete work across operational software.

That positioning also raises execution demands. Research customers may prioritize task realism, expert feedback and reproducible evaluations, while enterprise customers may prioritize security boundaries, predictable costs and accountable human oversight. A platform serving both groups must show that its evaluation methods remain reliable when a task moves from a controlled sandbox into a production workflow.

“Every company will soon run on AI systems that learn from their own work. Getting there takes innovation at every layer, from sandbox infrastructure and the agent harness to reinforcement learning post-training. Labelbox brings those layers together in one platform, and this funding lets us push each one further, so that frontier labs and enterprises can build AI that gets better with every run.”

What remains undisclosed

  • The split between equity and credit in the financing package.
  • The credit provider and the facility’s interest rate, maturity and covenants.
  • Audited revenue, audited profit and detailed customer concentration.
  • Independent benchmarks comparing Horizon’s environments or evaluations with competing systems.
  • Enterprise pricing, compute charges and model-cost pass-through.

How to evaluate Labelbox against other AI-infrastructure approaches

Organizations considering this category should compare the following dimensions rather than relying on the funding headline alone.

Evaluation axis What to examine
Reinforcement-learning environment depth Whether simulated tasks reproduce the constraints, edge cases and multi-step decisions found in production
Evaluation and human feedback How expert judgments are collected, calibrated, audited and converted into training or reward signals
Agent deployment Which business applications, triggers and API actions are supported, and where human approval is required
Memory and improvement controls How graded outcomes are stored, reused, corrected and prevented from reinforcing bad behavior
Sandbox isolation and data governance Tenant separation, permissions, retention, encryption, auditability and recovery after an incorrect action
Pricing and compute transparency Whether platform fees, model usage and infrastructure costs can be forecast; the announcement supplied no independently comparable pricing or benchmark data

Bottom line

Labelbox’s Series E gives it additional capital to develop both sides of its stated platform: reinforcement-learning and evaluation infrastructure for advanced labs, and managed agents that execute measured workflows in enterprises. The strategic case is clear, but the financing package’s equity/debt mix, audited financials, commercial terms and independent performance data remain unresolved.
