What the available information confirms
KytyPS5 describes itself as a free, open-source PlayStation 5 translation layer for Windows and Linux, with experimental macOS support. Its official repository cautions that compatibility, stability, and performance vary between builds. The repository mentions gamepad hotplug support in Linux build guidance, but hotplug means connecting or disconnecting a controller while the application is running; it does not establish that vibration works.
KytyPS5’s official GitHub repository does not confirm the specific third-party vibration change described in the title. The first supporting build and implementation details therefore remain unclear.

What third-party controller claims do—and don’t—show
A separate, non-official KytyPS5 feature page claims support for Xbox and generic gamepads, as well as DualSense haptics and adaptive-trigger features. It does not name tested third-party controller models or specify whether vibration depends on USB, Bluetooth, or a wireless dongle. Those general claims are not proof that third-party rumble works in a particular game or build.

A non-official compatibility page labeled “Updated July 2026” includes a generic racing-simulator entry that reports DualSense haptics working. Because the game is genericized and the page does not document third-party controller testing, that entry cannot establish third-party vibration compatibility.
Neither page is the official project repository, and neither supplies a repeatable test of third-party vibration. No reviewed source establishes a model-by-model compatibility list.

The official repository warns that Linux builds may lack working audio or gamepad hotplug if relevant SDL3 audio, Wayland, and udev development packages are missing. This is a build-environment caveat about audio and hotplug—not confirmation of rumble or haptic support. Check the instructions for the exact KytyPS5 build and Linux environment you use rather than assuming a controller will work immediately.

- Connect the controller using one mode at a time—USB, Bluetooth, or a wireless adapter—and check whether the operating system and KytyPS5 recognize its gamepad input.
- In a game that offers a vibration setting or a clear rumble event, enable vibration and test it. Input recognition alone does not show that vibration is supported.
- If vibration does not work, record the build, operating system, controller, connection mode, and game. That separates a general input issue from a vibration or game-specific limitation, but does not by itself establish project-wide compatibility.
