South Korean carriers are selling Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, with different combinations of trade-in credit, handset subsidies, coupons, installment benefits and subscriptions. SK Telecom has the most completely itemized preorder package; LG U+ shows a conditional effective price of ₩1,466,350; and no iPhone Duo-specific KT preorder campaign was confirmed as of October 16, 2026. The headline prices are not directly comparable until you separate old-phone value, plan costs, card rebates and temporary subscriptions.
iPhone Duo launch dates and hardware
Apple’s Korean newsroom describes iPhone Duo as its first foldable iPhone. The phone is offered in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, with a 7.6-inch internal display and a 5.4-inch external display.
SK Telecom’s announced preorder window runs from October 16 through October 23, 2026, with sales beginning October 23. Carrier stock, storage, colors and delivery timing can change during that window.

Apple Trade In is the comparison baseline
Apple’s direct Trade In offer gives eligible iPhone 13 or later devices a stated credit range of ₩280,000 to ₩1,670,000. That credit is applied as a purchase offset rather than being tied to a carrier plan. Apple summarizes the proposition in Korean as: 현재 사용 중인 기기를 보상 판매하면 iPhone Duo를 더욱 부담 없이 구입할 수 있다.

Use the Apple amount as a baseline before accepting a carrier’s larger-looking package. A carrier quote may combine an estimated old-phone value with a bill credit, coupon, card rebate or a high monthly plan, so the headline total is not necessarily cash paid at checkout.
SK Telecom: the most complete preorder bundle
What the package includes
SK Telecom lists up to ₩1.37 million for an eligible used phone and up to ₩300,000 in T Direct Shop gift-certificate support. Its T Direct Shop presentation separately advertises an overall discount framing of up to ₩1.7 million. Those figures should be checked against the exact device condition, storage model, plan and settlement method shown in the order flow.

SKT is the clearest fit for a buyer who wants a large immediate trade-in component and values the temporary AI and video subscriptions. Compare the final handset installment and the required plan period with Apple’s direct purchase rather than adding the subscription headline value to the phone discount.

How the ₩1,466,350 example is calculated
LG U+ displays a ₩3,290,000 list price and a benefit price of ₩1,466,350. The example stacks the following items:
- ₩151,000 carrier support
- ₩22,650 distribution support
- ₩300,000 preorder coupon
- ₩890,000 used-phone return value
- ₩180,000 additional compensation
- ₩180,000 shopping-coupon support
- ₩100,000 Samsung Card cashback
Because the example depends on every line item, it is not a universal cash price. The page ties it to a Plus Plan 115 setup and the card-payment requirement for cashback. It also warns that stock, color, storage and first-come limits can change the effective price. Ask for the amount due and the remaining installment balance after removing any benefit you cannot receive.

LG U+ compensation pass
The separate compensation pass is designed for customers who plan to return an eligible iPhone foldable later. Its stated return value is up to 70% of list price at month six, then falls by 1.667 percentage points each month to 56.7% at month 14. The fee is ₩18,000 per month.

Enrollment requires an LG U+ purchase, continued LG U+ service and a device returned in acceptable condition. This is a paid value-protection product: include all monthly fees and any condition-related rejection risk when comparing it with an ordinary trade-in.

What KT’s published pages do—and do not—show
KT’s plan pages describe general device-installment discounts and a 7% direct-shop discount for qualifying phone or device purchases. Customers can select benefits such as Netflix, YouTube Premium, Disney+, TVING/Genie/Millie, device-care and appliance-subscription options.
Those pages do not establish a KT-specific iPhone Duo preorder or trade-in campaign. Do not infer that a general KT benefit applies to iPhone Duo until a current offer page states the model, dates, plan and eligibility.
How to calculate the deal you will actually pay
- Start with the exact capacity and list price. A 256GB phone and a 2TB phone should not be compared using the same headline discount.
- Get a written old-phone valuation. Separate a guaranteed credit from an estimate that can change after inspection.
- Subtract only immediate, certain support. Keep carrier subsidy, distribution support, preorder coupons and shopping coupons in separate lines.
- Model the plan commitment. Add the required monthly plan cost for the minimum retention period, including any installment interest or device-care charge stated at checkout.
- Treat card cashback and gift certificates as conditional value. Confirm the card, payment date, spending rules and whether the benefit reduces the handset bill or arrives later.
- Value subscriptions by duration. Record the free months, the renewal price and the cancellation deadline for Google AI Plus, TVING or any carrier-selected service.
- Check return timing and condition rules. For a compensation pass, calculate the month you expect to return the phone and the percentage then available.
Which offer is likely to fit your situation?
- Choose SKT’s package if you want the most clearly itemized preorder bundle and will use its short-term subscriptions, while accepting campaign and plan conditions.
- Consider LG U+’s displayed price only if you qualify for the Plus Plan 115, can complete the required return and card payment, and have confirmed that each coupon is still available.
- Use the LG U+ compensation pass when a planned month-six-to-14 return is more important than the ₩18,000 monthly fee and the continued-service requirement.
- Check KT directly for a current model-specific page if you prefer KT’s entertainment or device benefits; general plan benefits alone are not proof of a Duo launch discount.
- Buy through Apple when you want a straightforward purchase offset and do not want a carrier plan or service commitment. Its ₩280,000–₩1,670,000 Trade In range provides a clean reference point.
What to verify before ordering
- Preorder cutoff, launch delivery date, storage and color availability
- Whether the old-phone amount is fixed before inspection
- Minimum plan price and retention period
- Installment balance, interest and early-cancellation consequences
- Exact coupon, gift-certificate and card-cashback settlement method
- Subscription free period, renewal price and cancellation process
- Return deadline, acceptable condition and consequences if inspection fails
