It may be worth buying if you want a low-cost glass air fryer and are comfortable learning its presets, handling hot glass, and using a non-stick crisping tray. A CHOICE reviewer reported good results with chicken breast and roast potatoes, but unevenly cooked vegetables and awkward handling. Those are one reviewer’s experiences, not a guarantee of typical performance. At the time Kmart’s Australian listing was checked on 7 October 2026, it showed AUD 89 on clearance, previously AUD 99; price and stock can change. Kmart’s product listing and CHOICE’s review are the key references.
What you get, and how much it holds
Kmart Australia lists the product as the “Portable Glass Air Fryer,” SKU P_43695461. Its two glass containers have listed volumes of 4.5 L and 2.5 L, but Kmart gives maximum food capacities of 3.4 L and 1.5 L respectively. Container volume and stated food capacity are different measures; use the latter when judging how much food you can cook.
CHOICE says the box includes the two glass containers, a heating element, a non-stick crisping tray, a silicone heat mat, and one plastic storage lid that fits both containers. The glass format lets you see the food while it cooks, but it does not make the appliance entirely non-stick-free.

These are retailer-provided specifications, not independent measurements. Kmart says the product was tested to applicable Australian electrical safety standards and certified compliant, but the surfaced listing does not identify a specific standard or provide a certificate.

How well does it cook?
CHOICE journalist James Worsfold’s article, last updated 6 August 2026, describes using the appliance over several sharehouse dinners. It is a hands-on account, not a published lab score for this model.
- Vegetables: Brussels sprouts, onion and corn were charred in places and undercooked in others, even after shaking. Worsfold thought the crisping tray might have produced more even results.
- Chicken breast: He described roast chicken breast cooked with the tray as perfect.
- Roast potatoes: They became crispy after 30 minutes on the air-fry function, even without the non-stick tray.
The results suggest the appliance can work well for some foods, but the review does not support a promise of consistent performance across ingredients. The manual reportedly instructs users to “cook ONLY one type of food at a time.” Worsfold found that mixed vegetables seemed to cook at the same rate when tried together, but that single observation does not override the manual’s instruction.

What is awkward about using it?
Preset controls limit temperature feedback
The presets use programmed times and temperatures. CHOICE says the cooking time can be adjusted up to 60 minutes, but the temperature cannot be adjusted or viewed on the display. Worsfold summed up the limitation: “The actual temperatures are not displayed or mentioned anywhere, so you really need to guess which function will work best, without knowing what temperature it is cooking at.” The manual provides suggested functions and cooking times, but he found its ingredient guidance limited.

CHOICE notes that the containers can become very hot, the handles are small, and removing the heating element is difficult. It warns that people with limited dexterity may find the unit inaccessible. Its article reports that CHOICE testing measured glass air-fryer baskets above 100°C; that measurement is about glass baskets it tested generally, not a stated measurement of this Kmart model. Use care when lifting hot parts.
Lift-and-restart issue reported by one reviewer
Worsfold says lifting the heating unit switches it off, and that the manual indicates cooking should resume when the container is replaced unless the unit has been off for more than five minutes. He experienced a fault in which the appliance stopped after being replaced several times. This is a reported issue with the reviewer’s unit, not evidence that all units have the same fault.
Is the non-stick tray a deal-breaker?
That depends on why you want glass. The containers are glass, but the included crisping tray has a non-stick coating, and the reviewer found it improved results for some food. If avoiding non-stick surfaces in food preparation is a priority, this appliance may not meet that goal as supplied.

CHOICE says the Healthy Choice and Dreame glass models it discussed use stainless-steel inner trays. It also notes stainless-steel air-fryer trays sold online for around AUD 10–30, but does not establish that any of them fit the Kmart appliance. Do not assume a replacement tray is compatible: check its dimensions and the appliance’s product information before buying. Compatibility of replacement bowls, lids and crisping trays is not established by the cited sources.

The prices below are dated observations, not current quotes. CHOICE described the Kmart at AUD 99 in its 6 August 2026 article and comparable portable glass models from Ninja and Dreame at around AUD 300 at that time. It also said a bulkier Healthy Choice glass model was available for under AUD 120 on online marketplaces including Amazon or Big W. Kmart’s own page showed AUD 89 clearance when checked on 7 October 2026, previously AUD 99. Verify the exact model, current price, stock and warranty before comparing.

For a practical comparison, check the exact unit’s usable food capacity, tray material, temperature control, cooking consistency for the foods you make, footprint, ease of lifting hot components, cleaning and warranty—not just the glass format or headline price.

Kmart’s Australian listing specifies a 12-month warranty. CHOICE contrasted this with two years for the Dreame and Ninja glass models it discussed, and notes that Australian Consumer Law also applies. Warranty terms and consumer protections depend on the Australian purchase and applicable circumstances; the available account does not establish a typical useful lifespan for any of these models.
