The Kmart Anko Cordless Stick Vacuum 42742678 is a lightweight, small-capacity cordless stick vacuum with a listed price of $149 in CHOICE’s product information. It may suit someone seeking a basic cleaner, but the publicly available evidence does not show this model’s individual lab scores—and CHOICE’s 2024 range-level findings raise particular concerns about carpet and edge cleaning. Treat the price as a reference, not a confirmed current checkout price, and check the cost and compatibility of replacement parts before buying.
Which Anko vacuum is item 42742678?
This review is about the Kmart Anko Cordless Stick Vacuum 42742678, not every vacuum sold under the Anko name. CHOICE lists several distinct models, including a $129 Cordless Stick Cleaner, a $99 EV-PH666-S222, and a $79 V8260-12A. Their specifications and test results should not be treated as interchangeable with item 42742678.
CHOICE lists $149 for the exact model. That is a price shown on its product page, not confirmation of Kmart’s current price, availability, or stock. An exact-model current Kmart listing and manual were not verified; other item numbers’ listings and manuals are not reliable substitutes.

What do the published specifications tell you?
CHOICE’s product page lists the following details for item 42742678. These are specifications, not proof of how well it cleans.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Specification | Published information |
|---|---|
| Battery | 29.6 V lithium-ion |
| Charging time | Five hours claimed |
| Speed settings | Two |
| Dust collector | 0.3 L, measured by CHOICE |
| Weight | 2.52 kg |
| Listed components | Powered soft roller head, combination dusting-brush/crevice tool, charger, and stand |
A 0.3 L collector is modest, so people cleaning larger areas may need to empty it more often than a vacuum with a larger bin. At 2.52 kg, its listed weight may matter if you regularly carry a vacuum up stairs or use it overhead. The listed accessories indicate what is supplied, but the public product information does not establish every handling feature or how effective the tools are.
How well does it clean?
The key limitation is that CHOICE’s public product page does not show the exact model’s scores for hard-floor pickup, carpet, pet hair, car cleaning, corners and edges, noise, ease of use, or running time. Those results are marked members-only. There is therefore not enough publicly visible model-specific evidence to give this vacuum a numerical rating or claim a particular tested result.

What CHOICE’s broader Anko findings do—and do not—show
In a consumer-advice article last updated 3 September 2024, CHOICE says the $129 and $149 Anko models performed worse than the cheaper $79 model. It reports scores of 59% and 63% for the $129 and $149 models discussed together, but the public article does not map either score to a particular model. Neither score can safely be assigned to item 42742678.

Could replacement costs change the value?
CHOICE’s 3 September 2024 article gives a $68 replacement-battery example for the $149 Anko model and says replacement filters ranged from $2 for foam to $15 for stainless-steel mesh. These are examples reported at the time, not confirmed current prices or proof that any listed part fits item 42742678. Check the exact item number and compatibility with the seller or manufacturer before purchasing a battery, filter, or other spare.
The practical comparison is not just the vacuum’s checkout price: consider whether compatible parts are available and what they cost. Current availability, part compatibility, and current part prices were not established in the public information available for this review.

Who should consider this vacuum?
It is worth considering only if its basic cordless format and listed accessories match your needs, you can confirm the current price and parts support, and you are comfortable with the uncertainty around model-specific cleaning performance. The public specifications can help assess size, weight, and capacity; they cannot establish whether it will clean your floors well.
- Before buying: confirm the listing is for item 42742678, rather than a different Anko model, and check the current price and stock.
- For carpet or edge cleaning: do not assume strong performance from the product name or specifications. CHOICE’s range-level findings are cautionary, but do not provide a public score for this exact model.
- For pet hair or car interiors: CHOICE reports that some tested Anko models did well in these areas, but its public information does not identify item 42742678 as one of them.
- For long-term ownership: verify compatible replacement batteries and filters, and compare their current prices before relying on CHOICE’s historical examples.
Verdict
The Anko 42742678 has clearly stated basic specifications, but the public evidence is not strong enough to call it a good performer or assign it a reliable value rating. Its listed $149 price, small collector, and the cautionary range-level findings make it a conditional buy—not an obvious recommendation. Consider it only after confirming the exact model, current price, intended floor-cleaning task, and compatible spare-part costs.
