The Kmart Anko V8260-12A is a mixed, task-dependent cordless vacuum: CHOICE reports that it cleans hard floors and pet hair well and performs very well on car interiors in handheld mode, but struggles seriously on carpet. CHOICE gives it a 67% Expert Rating from lab tests. That makes it a more plausible fit for hard-floor homes and quick car cleanups than for a home where carpet is the main job.
How well does the Anko V8260-12A clean?
CHOICE’s public summary reports a clear split by task. The model rated well for hard-floor cleaning and pet hair, and very well for cleaning cars in handheld mode. Carpet is its weak point: CHOICE says it struggled on carpet in both quick cleans and longer runs. The 67% Expert Rating is CHOICE’s overall lab-test result; detailed category scores are not publicly shown on the model page.
In practical terms, consider the V8260-12A if your routine centres on hard floors, pet hair, or using a handheld vacuum in a car. If you need a cordless stick vacuum to clean carpet thoroughly, CHOICE’s findings are a strong reason to look elsewhere.

Which model number should you check?
The model appears under two closely related identifiers. CHOICE calls it V8260-12A, while the Kmart-hosted manual identifies it as VC8260-12A. ProductReview’s record lists VC8260-12A and VSS01B15P as verified MPNs for its product entry. These are useful search variants, not proof that every accessory listed under any one identifier will fit every unit.
Before searching for a charger, filter, or other part, check the rating label on your vacuum and match the part against that exact model. Do not assume compatibility from a similar name alone.

Is it still available, and what does it cost?
CHOICE lists the V8260-12A at $79, but that is a reported price reference, not a verified current offer. Its accessible pages do not establish whether the exact model is in stock now.

What maintenance does the manual recommend?
The manual says the filter must be cleaned regularly to support suction and help prevent overheating and damage. It also instructs users to switch off the appliance and remove the charger from the socket before cleaning or carrying out maintenance. The appliance is intended for domestic indoor cleaning.
The manual states a 12-month warranty and says it is additional to statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand law. Check the documentation and applicable consumer protections for your region and purchase.

Can you get a replacement filter or charger?
Owners have asked about a replacement filter identified as “Part J” in the manual and about where to buy a charger. Those questions show common support needs, but they do not establish that a compatible part is currently available or identify a verified seller. Confirm the model on the appliance label and ask Kmart or Anko to verify compatibility before buying a replacement.

Who should consider this vacuum?
