CHOICE gives the discontinued Kmart Anko 20cm Stainless Steel Saucepan with Lid an overall score of 66% and flags problems with its lid, including a handle that can become dangerously hot. A separate, similarly named Anko saucepan performed better in CHOICE’s tests; those results do not apply to this model. Current Kmart and Target listings show a similar 20cm saucepan, but the available product details do not confirm it is the exact model CHOICE tested.
What does CHOICE’s review say?
CHOICE reports that the Anko 20cm Stainless Steel Saucepan “with Lid” scored 66% overall and did not perform particularly well in its scrambled-egg test. The accessible article does not state the year of that score. CHOICE’s product page marks the model discontinued, and its detailed test results and sub-scores are not publicly visible.
CHOICE also describes practical strengths: the saucepan is light and balanced, easy to use one-handed and pour from, and its glass lid lets you check food while it cooks. The main concerns relate to that lid:

The public product page gives no detailed score breakdown, so specific boiling, evenness, or ease-of-use scores cannot be established from its publicly available information. Don’t confuse it with the better-scoring Anko saucepan
CHOICE’s article also discusses another, similarly named Kmart Anko 20cm stainless steel saucepan. That distinct product did well in tests of boiling water and scrambled eggs and scored highly against more expensive saucepans. CHOICE kitchen expert Chantelle Dart said of that other model: “These scores are comparable with other saucepans that cost hundreds of dollars.” The comment and its test results are not about the discontinued “with Lid” model reviewed here.
Confirm the product name and SKU before relying on a review or buying a replacement: a shared brand and diameter do not establish that two saucepans are the same model.

How does the discontinued model compare with current listings?
CHOICE’s page and current retailer listings describe products with overlapping specifications, but the available information does not conclusively prove the retail listings are the exact unit CHOICE tested. Treat them as potentially different models unless the product label, SKU, or manufacturer details confirm a match.

Is it a good buy?
The discontinued model has useful handling features, but CHOICE’s 66% overall score, weak scrambled-egg result, and lid-related heat and stability criticisms are meaningful drawbacks. If you are considering a current 20cm Anko listing, first check its exact model identity rather than assuming the older review applies. The retailer pages claim induction compatibility and dishwasher safety for their listed products; follow the current listing and product label for the item you buy.
