Kmart describes it as heavy-gauge stainless steel with a thick aluminium base, a welded long handle, and a clear glass lid. The aluminium base is intended to spread heat; that is a product description, not a separately published measurement of how evenly this specific pan heats.

CHOICE’s public article describes this $20 model as one of the best saucepans in its tests. It reports that the pan did well in boiling-water and scrambled-egg tests, which CHOICE kitchen expert Chantelle Dart says help indicate heating speed, evenness, and whether food sticks. The public passage does not disclose the exact SKU’s full numerical scorecard, so it is not possible to verify a precise score or rank from that information alone.

CHOICE also describes the pan as light and well-balanced, easy to use one-handed and pour from, and says its glass lid makes it possible to check food without lifting the lid. Dart said: “The Kmart saucepan’s scores are comparable with other saucepans that cost hundreds of dollars.” That is a comparison of CHOICE test scores, not a guarantee of the same performance or value for every buyer. Does it work on induction, and what about other cooktops?
Kmart says the saucepan is suitable for electric, gas, ceramic, halogen, and induction stovetops. That compatibility comes from the retailer’s product listing; the public CHOICE discussion focuses on test performance rather than publishing a separate cooktop-by-cooktop compatibility test. How much does it hold, and how heavy is it?
CHOICE lists the saucepan’s stated volume as 2.9L and its weight as 1.3kg. Those figures can help you judge capacity and handling, but the published page does not specify a usable fill level or explain whether the capacity is measured to the brim. The product is described as 20cm; do not treat that diameter as a measure of its capacity.
Can the saucepan go in the dishwasher or oven?

Kmart says the stainless steel saucepan is dishwasher safe, and CHOICE also reports that it is dishwasher-safe. CHOICE cautions that stainless steel is easy to clean provided food has not baked onto the surface.

Oven
CHOICE says the pan is reportedly safe for oven use, but notes that product information gives no temperature limit. The public information cited here therefore does not establish a maximum safe oven temperature. Do not assume a particular limit; check the current product instructions or confirm with Kmart before using it in the oven.

When Kmart’s listing was surfaced, it showed a 4.8 customer rating from 105 reviews. That is retailer-hosted customer feedback, not CHOICE’s expert test score, and both the rating and review count can change. CHOICE’s product page listed a $20 cost, and Kmart also showed $20 on its surfaced listing; prices and stock are time-sensitive, so confirm the current price with the retailer.
