The Kleva Mealio combines a soup maker and cold blender, but its practical batch sizes differ: Kleva recommends up to 800 ml for hot blending and 1,200 ml for cold blending, despite the jug’s listed 1.2 L size. That makes it most appealing for people who want one appliance to heat and blend soup and prepare smoothies, and less suitable if a large hot batch is your priority. Kleva advertises soup in about 30 minutes; that is a seller claim, not an independently tested result.
What is the Kleva Mealio?
The Mealio is marketed as a hot soup maker and cold blender in one appliance. It has preset cooking and blending programs, plus an auto-cleaning cycle. The appeal is straightforward: the appliance can heat and blend soup in the same jug, while also handling cold drinks and other blended foods, according to Kleva’s product descriptions.
Kleva lists four hot cooking/blending programs, three cold blending programs and auto cleaning. Published specifications include 800 W power, 220–240 V, and a listed speed of 23,000 rpm. The product listing describes a single-layer, 6 mm high-borosilicate glass jar, stainless-steel blades, a full-copper motor base, a jug base with Greblon CK2 ceramic coating, a stir stick and a cleaning brush. Assembled dimensions are listed as 21 × 45 × 20 cm, with a weight of 4.2 kg. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance measurements. Kleva Range’s product listing also gives a temperature resistance range of -5°C to 105°C.

Can the Mealio Blender really make hot soup from scratch?
Kleva says the Mealio can prepare hot soup in about 30 minutes and notes that vegetables do not need to be precooked. The support page advises adding liquid before other ingredients to reduce sticking. Those details make it a plausible one-appliance option for soup preparation, but the timing and cooking performance are advertised claims; the available information does not establish an independent test of them.

Capacity matters more than the headline jug size
The jug is listed at 1.2 L, but Kleva recommends a maximum of 800 ml for hot blending and 1,200 ml for cold blending. For soup planning, use the hot figure: an 800 ml batch is less than the jug’s nominal capacity and may mean making soup in smaller batches than expected. Do not exceed the stated fill capacities. The official Mealio Australia product page also lists the 800 ml hot and 1,200 ml cold capacities.
It does not replace every stovetop step
The product is not described as having a sauté function. One customer review says they sautéed onion and garlic in a pan before using the blender. If browning aromatics is part of your usual soup routine, expect to do that separately rather than assume the Mealio can sauté them in its jug.

Can I make cold smoothies and hot soups with the same appliance?
Yes, that is the product’s central proposition: Kleva markets the Mealio for hot soup and cold blending, with distinct programs and different recommended capacities. Its cold blending capacity is 1,200 ml, compared with 800 ml for hot blending. The listing also advertises uses such as smoothies, sauces and nut milk. The support page describes an auto-clean cycle, but the jug and lid are not dishwasher-safe and must not be submerged. Kleva says electronic elements inside them could be damaged by submersion or dishwasher use. Its stated cleaning procedure is:

- Add warm water and a small amount of washing liquid, filling to no more than half the maximum capacity.
- Secure the lid and centre cap, then select Auto Cleaning.
- After the cycle, unplug the appliance and rinse the jar.
Kleva says the cycle heats the appliance to 70°C and blends for two minutes. Follow the current Mealio support instructions; do not treat auto cleaning as permission to put the jar or lid in a dishwasher.
What do customer reviews say?
At access time, ProductReview.com.au displayed a 4.3 rating from 822 reviews, with 81% positive, 7% negative and 12% neutral sentiment. Those figures are a changing platform snapshot, not a controlled test or a measure of failure rates. Recent visible comments include praise for easy soup preparation, puréeing and self-cleaning. Critical reports mention small hot-soup portions, a noisy motor drive, the lack of a sauté function and repeated E04 errors in one user’s experience. These individual accounts are useful to identify questions to consider, but they do not establish how common an issue is or independently verify a defect. Kleva also warns against blending meat and advises care around children and sharp components. Consult the support page for its current guidance rather than trying to work around a warning or error.

Warranty and Australian support
Kleva’s product listing states a 12-month warranty. Its warranty page says eligible Australian kitchen appliances are covered for 12 months from the original purchase date and requires proof of purchase for a claim. The page lists KLEVA Customer Support at (02) 9387 4100 and support@klevarange.com.au for service, spare-parts and warranty enquiries. Check the current warranty terms before buying or making a claim, as conditions may change.
Who should consider the Mealio?
- A good fit: Someone who values a combined hot soup maker and cold blender, is comfortable with an 800 ml recommended hot batch, and will use the automatic cleaning process.
- Consider another approach: Someone who needs larger hot batches, wants dishwasher-safe jug components, or expects to sauté ingredients in the appliance itself.
For a comparison with another heated blender or soup maker, check hot and cold fill limits separately, whether heating and blending happen in one cycle, the available programs and controls, cleaning restrictions, warranty and local service, and user reports about noise and errors. The cited product information does not establish a like-for-like comparison with a specific competing model.
