KitchenAid’s Semi Automatic Espresso Machine with Burr Grinder (KES6551) has dropped from AU$999 to AU$566 on Amazon Australia, a 43% reduction reported on 16 October 2026. That price is also below the machine’s AU$699 October Prime Day price. The catch is simple but important: the promotion applies only to the black version, and neither the duration of the offer nor stock is guaranteed.
What the deal includes
The KES6551 is a manual espresso machine with a built-in burr grinder, so you can grind beans immediately before brewing without buying a separate grinder. You still control the hands-on parts of espresso preparation: selecting a grind setting, tamping the coffee and steaming milk.
KitchenAid’s design uses a flat-base 58mm portafilter. Because the portafilter can sit level on a counter, you can tamp on a stable surface rather than balancing it in your hand. Smart dosing is intended to help deliver a more repeatable amount of ground coffee, while the adjustable grinder lets you change the grind as beans and brewing conditions change.

Max Langridge of TechRadar identified the color restriction as the deal’s “only slight caveat”: the 43% discount applies to the black model. The evidence does not establish an equivalent price for other finishes, so shoppers matching a particular kitchen color should check the selected variant before paying. Amazon Australia pricing and availability can change at any time.

What you can make—and how much control you get
Espresso preparation
This is not a push-button superautomatic. You choose beans, adjust the grinder, distribute the grounds and tamp before locking in the portafilter. That workflow suits people who want to learn how grind size and dose affect extraction. Fifteen grind settings provide useful adjustment, but they do not remove the need to experiment: different beans, roast levels and freshness can require different settings.
Milk drinks and latte art
The multi-angle steam wand is designed for texturing both dairy and non-dairy milk. It provides the manual control needed to practise microfoam and pour latte art, although the machine’s specifications alone cannot guarantee a particular steaming speed or foam quality. Expect a learning curve while you find the right wand position, milk volume and texture.
