There is no single Keyblade checklist for the Kingdom Hearts I–III collection: each playable game has its own equipment or card system, and the collection’s 358/2 Days and Re:coded entries are movies rather than playable weapon-progression games. Start with the game and version you are playing, then use its story rewards, optional challenges, minigames, or synthesis routes. The counts below are per-game figures reported by Gaming.net in 2026; they are not a combined collection total.
Which games and Keyblade systems are in the collection?
The collection consists of KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind. Its playable games do not all handle Keyblades the same way.

- HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, and Birth by Sleep Final Mix are playable. The 358/2 Days and Re:coded entries are HD cutscene compilations.
- HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue: Dream Drop Distance HD and the 0.2 Birth by Sleep episode are playable; χ Back Cover is a movie.
- KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind: Kingdom Hearts III is playable, with Re Mind included as DLC in this package.
In Re:Chain of Memories, Keyblades are attack cards used in Sora’s deck, not equipment that you swap in a weapon menu. Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance also have character-specific progress or inventories, so a reward on one character’s route should not be assumed to transfer to another. The 358/2 Days and Re:coded movies do not let you unlock the weapon progression from their original handheld games.

How many Keyblades or cards does each game have?
Gaming.net’s 2026 guide reports the following counts. The numbers use different inclusion rules: Re:Chain of Memories counts attack cards, Birth by Sleep counts Keyblade types, and the Kingdom Hearts III figure covers standard Sora Keyblades. They should not be added together as a definitive collection-wide total.

How to find each kind of unlock
For a complete checklist, keep each game and version separate. Within that game, sort rewards by how they are earned; this helps distinguish automatic story rewards from optional or missable progress.
Story and world completion
Many Keyblades are awarded as story progress or after completing a world. The collection-wide guide gives Jungle King after Deep Jungle and Three Wishes after Agrabah as Kingdom Hearts Final Mix examples. In Kingdom Hearts III, the guide describes world Keyblades as tied to clearing their associated worlds. These are progression rewards, not a universal rule for every Keyblade.

Return visits, chests, and conversations
Some rewards require exploring after a world’s main story or speaking to an NPC. Check opened areas and available conversations when a checklist shows a reward tied to a chest or return visit; advancing the story can make the route less obvious. Treat these separately from automatic world-clear rewards.
Optional bosses and tournaments
Optional challenges can award powerful weapons without being required to finish the main story. In Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, the guide identifies Diamond Dust for defeating Ice Titan in the Gold Match and One-Winged Angel for defeating Sephiroth in the Platinum Match. These are challenge rewards, not story unlocks.
Minigames and completion conditions
Some rewards depend on activities outside the main combat route. The guide identifies Birth by Sleep examples involving ice-cream recipes and Rumble Racing, and Dream Drop Distance examples involving Dive ranks and portals. It also points to Kingdom Hearts III rewards involving Classic Kingdom games, Lucky Emblems, and cooking-related Grand Chef conditions. Check the character and route requirements for the specific game before pursuing one of these.
Synthesis and material collection
Synthesis is a distinct route, often involving a recipe unlock as well as a supply of materials. Ultima Weapon illustrates why the game version matters: its recipe conditions and ingredient lists are not interchangeable between entries.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
In Final Mix, the recipe becomes available after synthesizing all 30 unique items in Lists I–V, according to Gaming.net’s 2026 guide. The listed recipe is 5 Thunder Gems, 5 Mystery Goo, 3 Serenity Power, 3 Stormy Stones, and 3 Dark Matter. This is a Final Mix recipe; do not apply it to another game in the collection.
Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
The KHII Final Mix guide route places the Ultimate Recipe in the Mansion’s Basement Corridor. It describes using an Energy Crystal and Moogle level progression to reduce the displayed Orichalcum+ requirement to the seven available in the game, with the seven sources spread across worlds, a cup, and synthesis collection. The route is distinct from both the first game’s and KHIII’s recipe; verify the individual source locations against a KHII Final Mix checklist while playing.

Kingdom Hearts III
In KHIII, the recipe unlocks after obtaining 58 different synthesis material types, as reported by KHWiki. That means 58 distinct types, not 58 copies of one material. The recipe consumes 7 Orichalcum+, 2 Wellspring Crystals, 2 Lucid Crystals, and 2 Pulsing Crystals.

Square Enix describes its platform-exclusive Keyblades as unlocking with purchase of KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind DLC or the KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III]. Its collection page lists Long Night for Nintendo Switch, Midnight Blue for PlayStation, Phantom Green for Xbox, and Dead of Night for Steam. Nintendo’s Switch 2 product listing also advertises Long Night and gives the collection’s release date as October 8, 2026. The release date is also announced by Square Enix for Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Quick Recap
Check the game version before following a checklist
- Match the version: the collection uses Final Mix and HD releases, whose additions can differ from original console or handheld releases.
- Match the character or save: Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance can tie progress to a character or route.
- Match the reward type: distinguish equipment from Re:Chain of Memories attack cards, cinematic appearances, and weapons that are not obtainable inventory items.
- Match the unlock route: mark story rewards separately from return visits, NPC conversations, optional bosses, minigames, and synthesis.
- For KHIII comparisons: compare Keyblades at similar upgrade levels. Weapons can be upgraded at the Keyblade Forge and differ in stats and Formchanges, so starting Strength or Magic alone does not determine which is better for a given situation.
