Neither Keepa nor CamelCamelCamel is a universal winner. Choose CamelCamelCamel if your priority is a straightforward, threshold-based email alert and clearly labeled Amazon, third-party-new, and third-party-used history. Choose Keepa if you want charts and alerts embedded in the Amazon shopping page, plus the marketplace coverage listed in its current Chrome listing. Your country, device, alert style, and need for different price types matter more than a longer feature list.
Both services provide Amazon price histories and alerts, but the available first-party documentation does not establish that one has better data accuracy, lower prices, or greater shopper savings. Use historical data to decide whether an offer is unusual, then verify the live Amazon listing, shipping, coupons, seller, and final checkout total.
What Keepa and CamelCamelCamel actually do
Amazon prices can change several times in a day. A tracker records a product’s observed prices over time and notifies you when a condition you define is met. That lets you wait for a target price instead of guessing from the number shown on the product page today.

Keepa’s Chrome listing says its charts are integrated into Amazon product pages. That reduces the need to copy a product URL into a separate site while you compare listings. The practical benefit is workflow convenience: the history is available at the point where you are evaluating the offer.
You need availability notifications as well as price notifications
The same listing documents availability alerts in addition to price-drop alerts. That distinction matters for products that sell out or return to stock at irregular intervals. The listing does not establish identical alert channels, delivery timing, or threshold controls for every alert type, so inspect the current settings before creating a monitoring rule.

You want a simple target-price email
CamelCamelCamel’s official Features page says, “The primary feature of our site is the sending of email alerts when prices change.” It describes alerts as being triggered by a price threshold you set. This suits a rule such as “tell me when this item reaches my budget” rather than requiring you to watch a chart every day.
You need clearly separated seller and condition histories
The service explicitly labels three price types: Amazon, third-party new, and third-party used. Its charts also provide high, low, and average values. Those labels help you avoid comparing an Amazon-sold offer with a used-market offer as though they were interchangeable. You use a desktop browser and want the Camelizer
The Camelizer is the service’s browser add-on for viewing tracking information while shopping. CamelCamelCamel states that it is unavailable for mobile browsers. It also says the extension is not an official Amazon extension. When activated, it documents transmission of the active Amazon or CamelCamelCamel URL and some page content. Keepa price-drop and availability alerts
- Open the Amazon product page in a supported desktop Chrome workflow.
- Review the integrated Keepa chart and the current alert controls.
- Choose a price-drop condition, an availability condition, or both if the interface offers them for that product and marketplace.

Keepa’s statement that no account is required to start tracking and CamelCamelCamel’s statement that registration is optional describe initial access. They do not establish that account status has no effect on advanced alerts, saved trackers, data retention, exports, or other tools.
