There is no verified product called Groundtruth in the available official documentation. If your goal is a revision partner that answers from your cousin’s notes, the practical approach is to use a source-grounded study tool, keep its source set limited to those notes, and check its citations before trusting an answer. Google and Microsoft document tools with relevant features, but neither establishes that a system will never produce an unsupported response.
What “only answers from his notes” should mean
Treat “only from my notes” as a source-control requirement, not a guarantee of perfect answers. Your cousin should be able to see which supplied passage supports a response and recognize when the notes do not contain enough information to answer. A citation is useful only if it leads back to the original material and actually supports the claim.
Google’s Quick Start Guide to Google AI says, “NotebookLM will only use information from the sources you provide.” That is a description of the product’s source behavior, not independent proof that every generated answer is correct or fully supported. Ask questions that can be answered from the uploaded notes, inspect the citations, and treat missing or weak support as a reason to consult the original notes or class materials.

Which documented tools fit this revision workflow?
The exact Groundtruth product named in the title is not established by the available official sources. Two documented examples show the kinds of features to look for: Google’s NotebookLM, described in its student announcement as Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM), and Microsoft Copilot Notebook Study Guide.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Tool | Documented revision features | Source checking and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) | Google’s September 8, 2025 student-feature announcement describes flashcards and quizzes generated from user documents, study guides and reports, and a Learning Guide mode with probing questions and step-by-step explanations. | Google says the study features are grounded in provided sources; its Quick Start Guide says NotebookLM will only use information from sources the user provides. The announcement describes explain responses that cite original material. Specific file limits, eligibility, privacy terms and cost are not established here. |
| Microsoft Copilot Notebook Study Guide | Microsoft documents summaries, topic pages, flashcards, quizzes, matching and fill-in-the-blank activities. | Microsoft says citations link to original documents so readers can check the source in context. Its support article lists Word, PowerPoint and PDF references for several activities and gives a 100,000-character limit for specified flashcard, matching and fill-in activities; verify current limits and eligibility on the support page. |
Feature availability, supported formats, limits, account eligibility, privacy terms and prices can change. Check the current official product pages for your cousin’s account and region before choosing a tool. No independent learning-outcome statistic is established for these features, so do not assume they will improve grades, recall or study time by a measured amount.
How to turn his notes into active revision
- Gather the source material. Collect the notes he is allowed to use, preferably as clear, complete documents. Keep the uploaded source set limited to those notes if the exercise is meant to test what they contain.
- Generate practice, not just a summary. Ask for flashcards, quizzes or questions that require him to retrieve information from memory. Use explanations when he is stuck, and check that each one points to a relevant passage.
- Answer before revealing help. Have him attempt each question without looking at the answer. Then compare his response with the cited passage and correct misunderstandings using the notes.
- Mark gaps instead of filling them in silently. If a question is not covered, ask the tool to identify that the notes do not provide an answer. Take the unanswered topic to the textbook, class notes or teacher rather than treating a plausible-sounding response as course material.
- Return to the original sources. Use generated study aids as a route into the material, not a replacement for reading it. Microsoft Support puts the caution directly: “Treat the Study Guide as a starting point for your studies, not a replacement for the source material.”
What to check before relying on a generated answer
- Traceability: Does the citation open the actual note or passage, and does that passage support the answer?
- Coverage: Is the response limited to what the notes say, or does it introduce details that need checking elsewhere?
- Exercise quality: Does the tool create useful recall practice, or only repackage the notes as a summary?
- Input fit: Can it accept the file formats and source sizes your cousin has? Confirm current restrictions rather than relying on an old limit.
- Sharing and privacy: Before uploading schoolwork or personal information, check the current settings and terms for who can access the material and results.
What Groundtruth is—and is not—verified to be
The title’s “Groundtruth” is best understood as the name of a desired workflow, not a verified product recommendation. Official Google and Microsoft documentation establishes that their respective study features can work with supplied materials and provide revision activities or citations. It does not establish that either tool is infallible, that either is a tutoring service, or that either meets every privacy, access or cost requirement for your cousin.
