The Kambrook Health Steam PLUS Multi Cooker KMC655BSS is a discontinued 4 L cooker with dedicated rice, porridge, soup, slow-cook, sauté, steam, reheat and keep-warm functions. It is not a pressure cooker. CHOICE lists the model and its specifications, but the accessible listing does not show its expert rating or detailed test results, so there is no basis here for a performance score or hands-on verdict.
What the KMC655BSS offers
The KMC655BSS is designed for several kinds of everyday cooking rather than pressure cooking. Its documented modes are white rice, brown rice, porridge, soup, slow cook, sauté, steam, reheat and keep warm. CHOICE lists a claimed 4 L capacity, a round form, a non-stick cooking bowl and a weight of 6.7 kg. Its listed dimensions are 23 × 28 × 31 cm (H × W × D). These are published specifications, not independent measurements.
CHOICE marks the appliance as discontinued. That makes condition, completeness, local support and the seller’s warranty terms especially important if you find one for sale. Distinguish a used or refurbished cooker from new old stock, and verify that a listing is for KMC655BSS rather than a similar-looking model.
Programs and timing
The operating booklet separates the rice cycles from the modes with adjustable cooking times. White- and brown-rice cycles are programmed rather than user-timed; when either finishes, the cooker automatically switches to keep warm for up to 12 hours. Delay start is available for white rice, brown rice and porridge, with a selected finish time up to 24 hours.

The booklet says slow cook switches to keep warm automatically and gives a maximum keep-warm operation of up to 24 hours including cooking time. The soup, porridge, steam and sauté times can be adjusted; the listed times are defaults, not a guarantee that every recipe will finish at the same point.

Important operating and safety notes
- Use the cooker on a stable, heat-resistant surface. The booklet warns against placing it directly on a heat-sensitive stone benchtop.
- Use wooden or plastic utensils in the removable bowl to reduce the risk of scratching its non-stick coating.
- Open the lid with your face and hands clear of escaping steam, and let the cooker cool before moving it or cleaning its parts.
- If the bowl boils dry, the booklet says to add water within three minutes to continue cooking or steaming; otherwise, the display shows “Er.”
- If power fails during slow cooking while you are away, the booklet advises discarding the food even if it appears cooked.
Warranty, support and buying a discontinued unit
CHOICE lists a two-year warranty for the model, but that listing alone does not establish coverage for a particular secondhand or old-stock purchase. Kambrook’s limited-warranty page says the warranty applies only in the country of purchase. Check the terms for the purchase location and date, and ask the seller what warranty documentation comes with the appliance. Kambrook lists Australia customer care at 1300 139 798 and New Zealand at 0800 273 845 on its warranty page.
Before purchasing, confirm the exact model number, condition, included accessories, return terms and availability of local support. For owners seeking a part, ask Kambrook or the retailer to confirm the specific part fits KMC655/KMC655BSS; the included basket and utensils are not, by themselves, evidence of a currently available replacement-parts program.
