The Kambrook KIR795MAU is a 2200 W steam iron distinguished by a removable 180 ml water tank and three-way auto-off. Its listed features include a FabriGlide soleplate, variable steam and temperature controls, spray, steam shot, anti-drip protection and self-cleaning. However, listings checked mark it discontinued or unavailable, and publicly accessible independent testing does not establish how well it irons. Consider it only if you find a verified listing for this exact model and can inspect its condition and warranty.
What the KIR795MAU offers
Kambrook’s KIR795-series instruction booklet, issue A16, specifies a 2200 W iron with a removable 180 ml water tank and FabriGlide soleplate. The design also includes a collar tip intended to reach around buttons and collars, variable steam control, a spray nozzle and a steam-shot control. Retailer specifications list the same headline capacity and power.
The detachable tank is the model’s distinctive convenience feature: remove it to fill, and the retailer listing says a separate water cup is not required. That may make filling simpler, but available information does not demonstrate a measured ironing-performance advantage.
Controls and water systems
The iron has adjustable temperature and steam controls. Its anti-drip valve is designed to close when the soleplate is too cool to produce steam, then reopen once the required temperature is reached. The manual also describes a self-clean function intended to remove scale and impurities.

During self-cleaning, boiling water and steam may come out through the soleplate. Follow the booklet’s procedure and handle the iron accordingly; this is not a routine to perform casually or near people, pets or heat-sensitive surfaces.
Safety, care and storage
The manufacturer’s instructions specify three-way auto-off: after 30 seconds if the iron is left flat on its soleplate or tipped onto its side, and after eight minutes when it is upright on its heel. These are the stated timings for this model, not a reason to leave a hot iron unattended.

For storage, the manual says to unplug the iron, empty remaining water, let it cool and store it upright on its heel—not horizontally on the soleplate. Do not immerse the iron. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads; for stubborn residue, the manual says commercial soleplate cleaners sold through small-appliance retailers can be used.

What independent testing and owner feedback show
CHOICE has a listing for the KIR795MAU, but its Expert Rating, performance, ease-of-use, recommendation and other test-result fields are member-only. The public listing reports a 2200 W rating, 1.1 kg weight, 2.9 m cord, one-year warranty and discontinued availability. It does not reveal a public model-specific performance score, so there is no basis here to say the iron passed or failed CHOICE’s ironing tests.

Owner feedback is sparse and mixed. Appliances Online displays one review whose author calls the detachable tank gimmicky and criticizes the soleplate’s smoothness compared with an older Tefal iron. ProductReview.com.au displays three reviews, including positive impressions of glide or value and an account of steam-button failure and leaking after a replacement. These are individual, self-selected reports, not evidence of typical performance or a reliability rate.
Availability, warranty and specification uncertainties
Winning Appliances says the iron is no longer available; CHOICE and ProductReview.com.au also mark it discontinued. This supports treating it as discontinued or unavailable through the listings checked, not assuming that every residual, second-hand or marketplace unit has disappeared. Current marketplace stock was not verified. Winning Appliances lists a one-year manufacturer warranty; confirm coverage directly for any particular unit, especially if it is old, used or sold from remaining stock.

Should you buy one, or choose a replacement?
The KIR795MAU’s feature set is straightforward: a removable tank, multiple steam functions and automatic shutoff. The available evidence is not enough to judge its ironing performance independently, and the few owner reviews do not establish how reliably units perform over time. With listings reporting the model discontinued or unavailable, make a purchase decision around the exact unit’s verified condition, current stock and warranty rather than assuming a new, supported model is easy to obtain.
If you are comparing alternatives, check tank capacity and filling method, cord reach, auto-off behavior, soleplate glide, steam controls, warranty and actual availability. Kambrook’s Steamline Advance KI735 is a separate iron, not a KIR795MAU revision: its official page lists 2400 W, a 360 ml tank, a 2.5 m cord and a two-year warranty. Those specifications and warranty do not apply to the KIR795MAU.
