The Kambrook Speed Steam KIR470BLU is listed as discontinued, so it is mainly worth considering if you find verified remaining stock or already own one. Its public specifications describe a straightforward 2000 W steam iron, but the available evidence does not establish how well it performs in independent testing: CHOICE’s detailed scores are member-only, and the available owner feedback is a single review.
Is the Kambrook KIR470BLU any good?
There is not enough public evidence to give the KIR470BLU a reliable performance verdict. CHOICE lists the model but restricts its detailed performance and ease-of-use scores to members. Its public listing provides specifications, not a public test result. See CHOICE’s KIR470BLU listing.
One owner review on ProductReview.com.au reports poor glide and limited crease removal after a purchase in 2018. That is a single user’s experience, not a controlled test or a basis for judging the reliability of every unit. Read the owner feedback.

Is the KIR470BLU discontinued?
Yes. CHOICE identifies the KIR470BLU as discontinued. Any remaining stock should be checked carefully: confirm the exact model number on the appliance or packaging, and verify that the seller has the item in stock before ordering. CHOICE’s displayed $30 price is a listing figure, not a confirmed current offer.

Check the label and documentation for the exact unit if a detail matters to your decision. View the SpeedSteam family instruction booklet.
Features and safe use
The model-family booklet describes variable temperature and steam controls, fine-mist spray, self-cleaning and anti-drip operation. It also explains that the steam valve closes when the soleplate is too cool and opens once it reaches a suitable temperature. These are booklet-level specifications; the source does not establish whether every KIR470BLU variant differs in any way.

- Fill the tank with the iron unplugged and keep water below the MAX mark.
- Set the temperature high enough for steam before using the steam control.
- Do not direct vertical steam toward people or steam garments while they are being worn.
The instructions do not establish a timed automatic shut-off feature for the KIR470BLU. CHOICE reports “None observed” for automatic shut-off in both horizontal and vertical positions, so do not assume the iron will switch itself off after being left idle.

What to compare when choosing a replacement
Compare the features that affect your use rather than treating a newer Kambrook model as a confirmed successor. Kambrook lists the Steamline Advance KI735 as a separate iron; its product page does not say it directly replaced the KIR470BLU.
