Kamatera pricing depends on the server you configure and how you choose to pay. As of October 7, 2026, Kamatera lists example servers from $4 per month, but that price covers a specific small Ubuntu configuration—not every deployment. To estimate your bill, select the server’s resources, type, operating system, billing mode, and any extras in Kamatera’s live calculator.
What do Kamatera’s example servers cost?
Kamatera’s pricing page lists these examples as of October 7, 2026. They are provider-published configurations, not a complete price list or a quote for a server with different settings.
| Example | Listed price | Configuration shown |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $4/month | 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe SSD, 5 TB internet traffic, Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS |
| Standard | $25/month | 2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe SSD, 5 TB internet traffic |
| Pro | $39/month | 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe SSD, 5 TB internet traffic |
These examples do not establish the total for a particular workload. The operating system or software licenses, resource selections, data center, and optional services can affect the estimate. Use Kamatera’s pricing page and calculator to configure your own server and check the current figures.

How to estimate the cost of your configuration
Kamatera’s calculator and product pages provide choices that can change the estimate. Build the quote around the server you actually intend to run rather than treating the page’s default calculator selection as one of the Basic, Standard, or Pro examples.
#1 Best Overall
- Open Kamatera’s pricing calculator.
- Choose the server type and set the vCPU, RAM, and storage you need.
- Select the data center and operating system. Check whether your OS or software requires a license.
- Choose monthly or hourly billing, then review any visible options such as managed service or extended daily backup.
- Check the estimate for included traffic, extra storage, and other selected services before deploying.
The estimate is tied to the selections you make. Revisit the calculator when changing resources, software, or options instead of assuming the example price applies unchanged.
What do Kamatera’s server types mean?
Kamatera describes four server types by their intended resource characteristics. These labels are not a guarantee of performance for a particular application; workload results depend on the configuration and use case.

How hourly and monthly billing differ
Kamatera offers two billing approaches with different payment timing and cancellation considerations.
Rank #3
| Billing choice | How charges are measured and billed | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | The pricing FAQ describes monthly configurations as prepaid. The billing guide says monthly servers are billed for the full month; later additions or upgrades are prorated and billed the following month. | Read the cancellation terms for your account and confirm the dates in your billing cycle before terminating. |
| Hourly | Kamatera says usage is measured by the minute and billed after use on a monthly invoice for the preceding month. The calculator shows different hourly pricing for powered-on and powered-off servers. | Check the powered-on and powered-off rates in the calculator. The pricing FAQ says terminating the server stops further hourly charges. |
Kamatera’s monthly cancellation wording is not identical across its pages. The billing guide says cancelling after the first still incurs the full month’s service charge. The pricing FAQ says a customer pays for the current month in which cancellation occurs and will not be charged once the new month begins if the monthly server is terminated. Because these descriptions frame the boundary differently, verify the live terms and your account’s dates rather than relying on a universal cancellation cutoff. See Kamatera’s billing guide and pricing FAQ.
What can add to the listed price?
The example prices should not be read as all-inclusive totals for every server. Kamatera’s pricing page lists additional usage rates of $0.01 per GB for traffic beyond the included allowance and $0.05 per GB per month for additional storage. Confirm the current allowance and rates in the calculator before deploying.
- Traffic: Compare expected usage with the traffic included in your selected configuration; additional traffic can be billed at the published rate.
- Storage: Additional storage is billed separately from the example’s included disk capacity.
- Operating system and software: The operating system or licensed software can change the estimate.
- Optional services: Managed service, extended daily backup, and other selected add-ons may affect the configured price.
Does Kamatera offer a free trial?
Kamatera advertises a 30-day trial. Its Cloud Servers page describes the detailed limits as one server configured to cost up to $100 and 1 TB of free traffic, including inbound and outbound traffic. A valid credit card is required. Kamatera says the card is not charged when those stated limits are observed, but charges begin if you do not terminate the server before the trial ends. Review the current terms on the Cloud Servers page and track the trial end date.
