For a directly documented six-inch Judge Dredd, HIYA’s Exquisite Super ESJ0053 is the clearest 1:12-scale starting point. It is advertised with 19 articulation points, multiple faces and hands, both Mark One and Mark Two Lawgivers, effect parts, and several display supports. The Cursed Earth Dredd is another 1:12 option with a fabric rad-cloak, while HIYA’s Dredd and Lawmaster MK II is a separate 1:18 vehicle set rather than a companion for six-inch figures.
Which Judge Dredd figure is the best fit?
The right choice depends first on scale and then on what you want to do with the figure. HIYA’s Exquisite Super ESJ0053 is the strongest documented all-round 1:12 option: the manufacturer identifies it as a six-inch Judge Dredd with 19 articulation points and a large, character-specific accessory loadout. It is designed for posing and display, not merely as a static statue.
Choose the Cursed Earth Dredd when the outfit is the priority. Its fabric rad-cloak gives it a visibly different silhouette from a standard uniformed Dredd, and its advertised 18-point body is close to the articulation count of the ESJ0053. However, the Sideshow Collectibles page checked for this variant reported it as sold out or unavailable, so stock must be verified before treating it as a current purchase option.

HIYA’s Dredd and Lawmaster MK II belongs to the company’s 1:18 mini line. It offers the vehicle-and-rider scene many collectors want, but it is not a direct scale match for a six-inch 1:12 Dredd. Treat it as a separate diorama scale. A 1:18 Judge Anderson Hall of Heroes figure is likewise part of that smaller-scale category.

What 1:12 means for your shelf
A 1:12 figure is commonly described as approximately six inches tall for a human character. HIYA explicitly lists ESJ0053 as a six-inch, 1:12 figure. That makes it suitable for shelves built around other six-inch collectibles, provided their manufacturers use compatible proportions. “1:12” is a scale target, not a guarantee that every brand’s sculpt, body width, or vehicle dimensions will line up perfectly.
Why the 1:18 Lawmaster set is different
The Dredd and Lawmaster MK II set is listed at 1:18 scale. At that scale, both the rider and motorcycle are smaller than a six-inch 1:12 figure. Placing the Lawmaster beside ESJ0053 will create an intentionally oversized Dredd, an undersized motorcycle, or both, depending on the display angle. The set makes sense for collectors who want a compact vehicle scene or who already collect 1:18 mini figures.

Body and posing
HIYA lists 19 points of articulation on ESJ0053. The manufacturer’s description also calls out shoulder and joint pads, a chain and badge of office, a boot holster, utility belt, and imposing helmet. Those details matter because they identify the release as a fully equipped Judge rather than a basic body with a costume added around it.

The 19-point count establishes the number advertised, but it does not establish how smooth, tight, or durable the joints feel. No hands-on examination or independent articulation test is documented. Buyers should therefore treat the count as a specification, not a guarantee of a particular range of motion or long-term joint performance.
Faces, hands, weapons, and effects
The box contents are unusually specific:
- Four alternate faces.
- Five pairs of alternate hands.
- Both Mark One and Mark Two type Lawgiver handguns.
- Boing spray and a Boing spray can special-effect piece.
- Gun-flame and smoke-effect pieces.
This combination supports several display moods without requiring a second figure: a helmeted patrol pose, a weapon-aiming pose, or an effects-heavy action scene. The two Lawgiver versions are especially useful for collectors who want to show different equipment configurations. The listing does not establish whether every hand is compatible with every accessory in practice, so accessory fit should not be assumed beyond the advertised contents.
Bases and storage support
ESJ0053 includes a nine-hole base, a storage base, and a three-section posing bracket. The nine-hole base gives you multiple foot-placement options, while the posing bracket is intended to support airborne or unstable action poses. A separate storage base can keep unused parts organized when the figure is displayed with only one face or weapon setup.

Cursed Earth Dredd: choose the rad-cloak look
What distinguishes the variant
The Cursed Earth version is also a 1:12 figure, but its defining feature is a fabric rad-cloak. That soft-goods garment changes the outline and visual language of the character more than a simple alternate head or weapon would. It is the natural choice for a shelf organized around story outfits, wasteland patrols, or a rougher post-apocalyptic presentation.
Sideshow’s description lists 18 points of articulation, accessories, a display base, and a nameplate. That is one fewer advertised articulation point than ESJ0053, but articulation count alone cannot determine which body poses better. The descriptions do not provide independent measurements, joint diagrams, or durability testing.

Availability and prototype caution
The Sideshow page checked showed the Cursed Earth item as sold out or not available. That status can change, so verify a current listing before planning a purchase around it. The same page notes that the shown item is a prototype and that the production piece may differ. Paint applications, soft-goods tailoring, tolerances, and small accessory details should therefore be considered subject to production variation.

What the set is good at
A motorcycle changes the display from a single-character portrait into a scene. HIYA’s Dredd and Lawmaster MK II addresses that use case in the smaller 1:18 format. It is the most relevant option here for someone who values a vehicle, a compact footprint, or a complete patrol vignette over a six-inch figure body.

Because the set is 1:18, it should not be presented as a vehicle accessory for the six-inch ESJ0053 or for another 1:12 Dredd. The scale mismatch will be obvious when the figures are placed side by side. If your shelf already contains 1:18 vehicles, the set can integrate naturally; if your shelf is built around 1:12 figures, it belongs on a separate riser or in a dedicated smaller-scale section.

HIYA also lists a 1:18 Judge Anderson Hall of Heroes figure. That makes the 1:18 line more useful for a coordinated miniature display, but it does not convert the Lawmaster set into a 1:12 product.
Mezco One:12 Judge Dredd: a historical alternative
A collector-tracker page reproduces an older Mezco One:12 Judge Dredd description. The listed package includes a soft-goods uniform, Lawgiver, daystick, handcuffs, grenades, alternate hands, a display base, and a posing post. Those contents make it a useful historical comparison: like ESJ0053, it emphasizes fabric elements, weapon options, alternate hands, and display support.
The source is a secondary tracker rather than a current manufacturer page or authoritative stock listing. It cannot establish present availability, current price, comparative quality, or how the figure performs in hand. Consider it a past collectible whose condition and completeness would need to be checked individually on the secondary market. Do not treat the reproduced description as proof that a new, regularly stocked release is available today.

How to choose without creating a scale mismatch
- Measure your existing shelf category. If your surrounding figures are about six inches and labeled 1:12, start with ESJ0053 or another explicitly 1:12 Dredd.
- Decide whether clothing or equipment is the visual priority. Select Cursed Earth for the fabric rad-cloak; select ESJ0053 for the broadest documented face, hand, weapon, effect, and base package.
- Choose a vehicle only after confirming scale. The Lawmaster MK II set is 1:18, so reserve it for a smaller-scale scene rather than a 1:12 shelf.
- Check stock and production status on the live retailer page. Sold-out labels, displayed prices, and regional availability change. A prototype image, especially for Cursed Earth, may not exactly match the shipped production item.
- For older releases, verify completeness. A historical Mezco listing may omit current condition, missing accessories, box wear, or seller-specific alterations.
What the specifications do—and do not—tell you
Published articulation counts and accessory lists are useful for comparing intended package scope. They do not prove paint quality, plastic feel, seam finishing, joint tightness, resistance to breakage, or whether an effect piece stays attached during posing. No independent hands-on test is documented for these products, so those qualities should be evaluated through current owner photographs, return policies, and seller information rather than inferred from the numbers.
Accessories are also not automatically interchangeable across brands or scales. A 1:12 hand designed for one wrist peg may not fit another body, and a 1:18 Lawmaster cannot be resized by changing the rider’s pose. Keep the scale label and the exact included-part list beside any marketplace listing you are considering.
