The Joovy Scooter X2 is a side-by-side double stroller with a 45 lb limit per seat, but it is a discontinued model, so buyers are more likely to encounter used units or remaining stock than a current product line. Its manual supports a 3-month minimum age with strict recline requirements for younger infants. What the Joovy Scooter X2 is—and what this review can establish
Joovy’s ScooterX2 807X instruction manual identifies the stroller as the 807X series. CHOICE describes it as a side-by-side double stroller and marks the product discontinued. That makes this a used-or-remaining-stock purchase rather than a straightforward comparison with a currently supported model.
The manual is the primary source for safe-use limits and operation. CHOICE publishes a product record and some specifications, but its detailed expert rating and test outcomes are restricted to members. The accessible record does not establish a score or pass/fail verdict, so none is assigned here. A reseller listing is useful only as a secondary description of its particular unit or bundle.
Will the Scooter X2 fit your children?
Weight and height limits
Joovy’s manual sets a maximum of 45 lb (20.41 kg) in each seat, 90 lb (40.82 kg) total, and 44 in (111.76 cm) in child height. These are manufacturer limits, not estimates. A child must remain within both the per-seat weight limit and the height limit; the total allowance does not let one seat exceed its individual maximum.

Age and recline
The manual permits use from 3 months. For children aged 3–6 months, use the most reclined seat position. More upright positions are for children at least 6 months old. The seatbacks adjust independently, so each child’s position can be set separately within those instructions. The manual’s minimum age does not make the stroller suitable for a newborn.
Dimensions, doorway fit and lifting
CHOICE reports open dimensions of 113 × 75 × 92 cm (height × width × depth) and a weight of 14.6 kg. A separate Joovy Onlinestore listing gives a width of 30 in and weight of 32 lb. The sources therefore do not align exactly, and may describe different versions or included configurations. Treat these as attributed records, not a definitive specification for every Scooter X2.

For a doorway check, measure the narrowest clear opening on the route you actually use—including door stops and any tight turn—and compare it with the exact stroller’s width. The CHOICE record’s 75 cm width is a useful starting point, not a guarantee that a particular unit will clear a doorway. If possible, measure the stroller itself before purchase. Also check vehicle cargo dimensions and whether you can lift the folded stroller; the reported 14.6 kg and 32 lb figures are not interchangeable without confirming which variant is being sold.
The sources cited here do not establish a folded measurement. The manual says both seatbacks must be fully reclined to achieve the most compact fold, but that instruction does not provide the folded footprint. Ask the seller to demonstrate folding and measure the folded unit if storage or trunk fit is decisive.

How the wheels, brakes and storage work
Wheels and brakes
The manual says the front wheel sets can be left in swivel mode or locked, and the rear brake system links both rear wheels. Engage the brakes whenever the stroller is stopped and during loading or unloading. This describes the mechanism; it is not an independent assessment of handling or stopping performance.
Storage limits
The manual sets a 5 lb (2.27 kg) maximum for the basket. It also limits the combined load in the zipper pockets, cup holders and in-seat mesh pockets to under 2 lb for each of those storage categories. Do not treat the basket figure as an allowance for every storage area combined. The manual warns that hanging bags from the handle can affect balance and create an unstable condition.

Safety checks before use
- Use the restraint system, and engage the brakes while loading or unloading and whenever stopped.
- Keep children away from the stroller while folding or unfolding it.
- Do not add attachments unless Joovy specifically recommends them.
- Stop using the stroller if it is damaged or malfunctions.
- Check that each seat, wheel, brake and restraint is present and functions on the specific unit. A product description or photograph is not a substitute for an in-person inspection.
Buying a used or remaining-stock Scooter X2
Because the model is marked discontinued, current stock, price and support should be checked at the time of purchase rather than inferred from an older product page. Confirm the 807X identification, the stroller’s condition, the label and manual, and exactly which accessories or components are included. Listings may bundle different pieces, and a claimed feature or measurement should be verified against the actual unit.
Inspect the frame and folding mechanism for damage or sticking; check both front wheel sets, the linked rear brake, seatback adjustment, harnesses and fabric; and ask whether any parts have been replaced. A stroller that is missing a component or has a brake or frame problem should not be treated as ready to use merely because replacement parts might exist.

Replacement parts and support
The manual documents components including wheels, the linked brake axle, canopy and bumper bar, and provides Joovy customer-care contact details. The available information does not establish a current official parts catalog or confirm stock for any exact-fit replacement. Before buying a replacement, give Joovy the stroller’s series and identifying details and confirm compatibility for the specific part. Do not assume a part advertised for another Joovy stroller fits the Scooter X2.
Who should consider it?
The Scooter X2 may suit a caregiver seeking a side-by-side layout whose children fit the manual’s limits and who can verify that the unit fits their route, storage space and vehicle. Its independent recline and selectable front-wheel mode are documented features, while the limited storage capacities and discontinued status are relevant compromises.
