Choose the EcoFlow DELTA 2 if you need more AC output, a higher documented solar-input ceiling, app connectivity, or a supported extra battery. Choose the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 if lower listed weight, slightly greater nominal capacity, or its published 1.58-hour AC-charge figure matters more. Neither is universally better: both are roughly 1 kWh LiFePO4 power stations, and the right choice depends on the appliances you will run, their startup demand, and whether you plan to expand the system.
The figures below are manufacturer specifications rather than independent comparative test results. Verify the exact regional model, included accessories, seller warranty, current price, and stock before ordering.
Quick answer
The DELTA 2 is the stronger specification match for heavier loads and a more expandable setup. Its ordinary AC rating is 1,800 W versus 1,500 W for the Explorer 1000 v2; its stated maximum solar input is 500 W versus Jackery’s 400 W combined DC input; and EcoFlow documents compatibility with one DELTA 2 or DELTA Max extra battery. The Explorer is about 3.2 lb lighter and lists 1,070 Wh rather than 1,024 Wh, which helps when carrying it and gives it a small nominal-capacity edge.

Capacity, cycle-life thresholds, charging figures, and warranties are not perfectly like-for-like measurements. A cycle claim specifies a remaining-capacity threshold, while a charging-input figure is a power ceiling rather than a guaranteed full-charge time. Confirm terms for your country, seller, registration status, and exact bundle.
Capacity: close enough that watt-hours should not decide alone
Jackery lists 1,070 Wh and EcoFlow lists 1,024 Wh. That 46 Wh difference is small compared with the energy consumed by most household appliances, and it does not tell you how much energy reaches an AC appliance. Inverter losses, conversion losses, temperature, battery age, and the station’s reserve can reduce delivered energy. Nominal watt-hours are therefore a starting point, not a guaranteed runtime at the outlets.
Calculate a realistic runtime
Use the appliance’s measured or manufacturer-stated running watts, not its marketing name. A useful planning equation is:
estimated hours = usable battery watt-hours × conversion efficiency ÷ average load watts

For an AC appliance, conversion efficiency must include the inverter and any conversion equipment. If you use an illustrative 85% efficiency assumption, a continuously measured 100 W load would be calculated as roughly 1,070 × 0.85 ÷ 100 = 9.1 hours for the Jackery, or 1,024 × 0.85 ÷ 100 = 8.7 hours for the EcoFlow. Those are planning examples, not promised runtimes. Your measured load, duty cycle, temperature, and the station’s low-battery cutoff will change the result.
Account for cycling appliances
Refrigerators, freezers, furnaces, and pumps do not draw their nameplate wattage continuously. Record the average wattage over a representative period with a plug-in power meter, then separately check the compressor or motor’s startup requirement. A low average can coexist with a high startup surge that trips an inverter. For medical equipment, use the device maker’s backup-power guidance rather than relying only on an average reading.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAC output and appliance compatibility
The Explorer 1000 v2 has a 1,500 W rated AC output and a 3,000 W surge rating. The DELTA 2 has a higher 1,800 W rated output and a 2,700 W surge rating. The larger EcoFlow continuous rating is the meaningful advantage when you want to run a high-wattage resistive appliance, several moderate loads at once, or equipment with a demanding normal draw. Jackery’s larger published surge figure may help with some short startup events, but surge duration and the appliance’s actual startup profile still determine whether it works.
What the EcoFlow X-Boost number means
EcoFlow separately lists 2,200 W X-Boost. Treat this as a feature that can allow certain compatible loads to operate under specified conditions, not as an 1,800-to-2,200 W upgrade to the station’s ordinary AC output. X-Boost can change how voltage is managed, so check the manual and the appliance maker’s instructions before using it with sensitive electronics, heating elements, motors, or laboratory equipment.
Use this load-check procedure
- Write down every appliance you may operate simultaneously and find its running-watt figure on the label or manual.
- Find the startup or locked-rotor wattage for motors, compressors, pumps, and power tools. If the maker gives amps instead, multiply by the applicable voltage and treat the result as an estimate.
- Add the loads that will actually run at the same time. Keep that total below 1,500 W for the Explorer or 1,800 W for the DELTA 2 during ordinary operation.
- Check whether a startup event could exceed the station’s surge specification. A brief surge rating does not guarantee support for every motor or for repeated starts.
- Leave practical headroom for changing loads, cold starts, and measurement error. Do not assume X-Boost or a surge rating makes an incompatible appliance safe.
- For a critical device, test the exact combination before an outage and monitor the station for overload, heat, or shutdown warnings.
Portability and everyday connections
At about 23.8 lb (10.8 kg), the Explorer is the lighter published option. The DELTA 2 weighs 27 lb (12 kg), approximately 3.2 lb more. That difference is noticeable when carrying a station from a vehicle to a campsite, moving it between rooms, or lifting it onto a shelf, but both are substantial objects rather than backpacking batteries.

Jackery’s listed connections include three 120 V AC outlets, one 30 W USB-C port, one 100 W USB-C port, an 18 W USB-A port, and a 12 V/10 A car output. Those USB ratings matter for laptops, phones, camera batteries, and small networking equipment: a 100 W USB-C port can avoid using the AC inverter for a compatible laptop, while an 18 W USB-A port is suited to lower-power charging. Confirm the charging protocol required by your device.
EcoFlow documents Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing settings and status monitoring through its supported app ecosystem. The cited EcoFlow product information does not establish a matching Jackery connectivity specification, so do not buy the Explorer expecting an app feature that is not listed for your regional unit.
Solar input and battery expansion
| Question | Explorer 1000 v2 | DELTA 2 |
|---|---|---|
| How much solar input is documented? | Up to 400 W combined across two DC inputs | Up to 500 W maximum solar input |
| Can capacity be expanded? | The cited specifications do not establish an equivalent extra-battery option | Supports one DELTA 2 or DELTA Max extra battery |
| What should be checked before buying panels? | Panel voltage, current, total wattage, and the two-input limit | Panel voltage, current, total wattage, connector, and the 500 W limit |
The EcoFlow’s documented 500 W ceiling gives it more solar-input headroom and a clear path to a larger stored-energy system. The Jackery’s 400 W figure is a combined limit across two DC inputs; it is not 400 W per input. In either case, a panel’s advertised wattage is a laboratory maximum. Cloud cover, angle, heat, shading, and controller losses reduce actual harvest.
Solar setup checklist
- Identify the station’s permitted input-voltage and current range in the manual for your region.
- Choose panels or a panel combination whose open-circuit voltage stays within that range in cold conditions and whose current does not exceed the input limit.
- Confirm the connector type and polarity. Do not force an adapter or connect panels in a series/parallel arrangement without checking the resulting voltage and current.
- Keep the combined panel wattage at or below the documented 400 W Jackery limit or 500 W EcoFlow limit.
- Place panels in unobstructed sun, connect them with the station switched as directed, and verify that the input display shows charging rather than an error.
- Secure cables against trip hazards and weather. Portable power stations are not automatically weatherproof; follow each manual’s operating and storage limits.
What expansion means in practice
With the DELTA 2, one compatible extra battery can extend stored energy for long outages or multi-day trips, but it also adds weight, cost, charging time, and another component to transport. The cited Explorer information does not confirm an equivalent expansion system, so plan around its built-in battery unless Jackery confirms a compatible option for your exact model and region.
Charging and recharge planning
Jackery lists 1.58 hours for AC charging. EcoFlow lists a maximum 1,200 W AC charging input. These figures cannot establish a definitive speed winner: one is a stated charging-time figure, while the other is an input-power maximum, and actual charge curves usually taper near full. Wall-circuit limits, temperature, battery state, and firmware can also affect charging.

For regular home charging
Use the supplied or approved AC cable, connect directly to a suitable wall outlet, and leave ventilation around the station. Avoid daisy-chaining extension cords or power strips unless the manual specifically permits them. If you use a generator, vehicle inverter, or another power station as the source, verify that its waveform, voltage, and available wattage meet the charging requirements.
For vehicle and solar charging
Match the 12 V car-output expectations and connector requirements before plugging in. Vehicle charging is generally a lower-power method than a high-wattage wall input, so treat it as a travel or maintenance option rather than assuming a rapid refill. Solar charging is variable; design your daily energy budget around the lowest realistic sunlight you expect, not the panel’s peak label.

Networking, phones, and small electronics
Either station has ample nominal capacity for low-power electronics, but use USB outputs when their ratings match your devices to avoid unnecessary inverter losses. Add the router, modem, optical-network terminal, laptop, and monitor loads before deciding how long an outage plan will last. Keep a measured total and include the monitor’s and laptop charger’s changing draw.
Refrigerator or freezer
Check the compressor startup requirement first. The appliance may average only a few hundred watts while running yet demand a much larger surge at startup. Test the refrigerator alone, then add networking or lighting loads, and observe whether the station remains stable through several compressor cycles.

Portable heaters, kettles, hot plates, hair dryers, and similar resistive loads can approach or exceed 1,500 W. The DELTA 2’s 1,800 W rating provides more margin, but the appliance’s actual label still controls the decision. Do not combine a high-wattage heater with other substantial loads simply because the arithmetic is close to the rating.

Medical and sensitive equipment
Ask the equipment manufacturer whether a portable inverter station is approved and whether its transfer behavior is acceptable. A station can power a device yet still be unsuitable if the device requires a specific waveform, grounding arrangement, or uninterrupted transfer.
UPS behavior and outage switching
Jackery’s support FAQ states that the Explorer 1000 v2 switches in less than 20 ms, while warning that this is not zero-interruption UPS service for servers or workstations. That distinction matters: a brief transfer gap may be tolerated by a router or many consumer devices but can reboot a computer, storage array, or other sensitive system. Read the full guidance at Jackery’s U.S. support FAQ.
Do not infer an identical UPS specification for the DELTA 2 from the information listed here. If uninterrupted operation is essential, use a purpose-built UPS with a published transfer specification and compatibility guidance, or obtain the exact DELTA 2 behavior from its current U.S. manual before relying on it.

Battery longevity and warranty
Jackery lists 4,000 cycles to at least 70% capacity. EcoFlow’s DELTA 2 manual lists 3,000 cycles to at least 80% capacity. Because the retained-capacity thresholds differ, the two cycle numbers should not be treated as a laboratory ranking. A cycle is also not the same as a calendar year: heat, storage state of charge, depth of discharge, charging speed, and load affect aging.
Jackery publishes a 3+2-year warranty statement, and EcoFlow publishes a five-year warranty. Confirm whether the additional Jackery years require registration, which seller invoices qualify, what parts and labor are covered, and how service works in your location. Warranty length does not by itself prove longer service life.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the DELTA 2 when
- Your planned simultaneous AC load is above 1,500 W but within the DELTA 2’s 1,800 W ordinary rating.
- You want the higher documented 500 W solar-input ceiling.
- You expect to add one compatible DELTA 2 or DELTA Max extra battery.
- Wi-Fi or Bluetooth monitoring and app controls are important to your setup.
- You prefer the published five-year warranty, subject to local terms.
Choose the Explorer 1000 v2 when
- You carry the station often and the approximately 23.8 lb listed weight is valuable.
- Your loads fit comfortably under 1,500 W and do not require EcoFlow’s documented expansion path.
- You value the slightly larger 1,070 Wh nominal capacity.
- The listed 1.58-hour AC-charge figure matches your charging routine.
- You need the specific USB-C, USB-A, car-output, and three-outlet arrangement Jackery documents.
When neither is the right size
If your appliance startup demand exceeds both stations’ practical surge capability, choose a larger inverter generator or power station designed for that load rather than hoping a feature will compensate. Conversely, if you only need to charge phones and a small laptop, a smaller and lighter battery may be easier to carry. The two models here make sense when you need roughly 1 kWh of storage and meaningful AC output.
Buying and setup checklist
- Record the exact model name, regional voltage version, and included battery or panel bundle.
- Measure or verify the running and startup watts of every critical appliance.
- Compare simultaneous running watts with the ordinary rated output, not the surge or X-Boost headline.
- Check panel voltage, current, connector, and total wattage against the station’s input limits.
- Decide whether the DELTA 2 extra-battery option justifies additional weight and cost, or whether the Explorer’s built-in capacity is enough.
- Read the current manual for transfer behavior, ventilation, temperature, storage, and permitted charging sources.
- Verify live price, stock, seller, bundle contents, return policy, and warranty registration requirements; these can change after a product page is indexed.
- Before an emergency, perform a controlled test with the actual cable set and loads you intend to use.
Bottom line
For most buyers choosing between these exact specifications, the EcoFlow DELTA 2 is the more capable platform: it offers the higher ordinary AC rating, higher documented solar-input limit, app connectivity, and a stated extra-battery path. The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is the better portability-first choice and remains attractive when its lower weight, 1,070 Wh listing, three AC outlets, or published AC-charge figure align with your loads. Check the appliance measurements and regional warranty before treating either as your outage solution.
