No. Warframe is a third-person action shooter, not a first-person shooter (FPS). You see your Warframe on screen during combat rather than looking through its eyes. It still belongs to the shooter family because firearms are a major part of its combat, alongside melee weapons, parkour movement, and character abilities.
Why Warframe is not an FPS
FPS means first-person shooter: the player views the action from the character’s perspective, as if looking through that character’s eyes. In Warframe, the camera follows the player’s character from outside, so the game is third-person.
Digital Extremes describes Warframe as a “third-person action shooter” on its official game page. That wording answers the perspective question directly.

Why it can still feel like a shooter
“Shooter” describes the combat, while “first-person” and “third-person” describe the camera. Warframe has plenty of ranged weapon combat, but it also combines firearms with blades, parkour, and Warframe abilities. Having guns does not by itself make a game an FPS.
Is Warframe cooperative?
Yes. The game supports squad-based play and cooperative missions. Apple’s App Store listing and the Steam listing describe playing with friends or forming squads. Its cooperative structure is separate from its camera perspective: a game can be third-person and cooperative at the same time.
Can you play Warframe in first person?
The official descriptions cited here identify Warframe as third-person, and they do not substantiate a first-person mode. The supported classification is therefore third-person action shooter, not FPS.

Where Warframe is available
Digital Extremes’ official page lists PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and iOS for cross-platform play. Platform availability can change, so check the official page for the current list. Apple’s listing marks the iPhone and iPad app as controller-supported; that indicates general controller support, not compatibility with any particular model.
