The VMAX VX2 Lite pairs a claimed 1,400 W peak motor and full suspension with a listed U.S. price of $799. It is a lower-speed, less feature-rich alternative to VMAX’s VX2 Hub, not a featherweight scooter: the two battery versions weigh 48.3 lb and 51.8 lb. Its advertised range is also mode-dependent, so the 31- and 56-mile headline figures should not be treated as everyday promises.
VMAX’s U.S. product page listed the scooter at $799 on October 7, 2026, with a crossed-out price of $1,099. Prices and availability can change. The specifications and range figures below are manufacturer claims; the available first-ride article says full performance testing was still pending.
What does the VX2 Lite offer for the price?
VMAX positions the VX2 Lite as a more accessible, lower-speed option than its VX2 Hub. The company lists a 25 mph maximum speed, 1,400 W peak motor power and the ability to climb inclines of up to 28%. These are VMAX specifications, not independently verified test results. The product page also lists a 24-month warranty for a new scooter; refurb and open-box products may have different terms.
The $799 listing inspected October 7, 2026 is a snapshot, not a guaranteed current price. The crossed-out $1,099 figure appeared on that same U.S. product page. Check the seller’s current price, inventory and warranty terms before buying.

Which battery version should you choose?
The two versions differ in battery capacity, advertised range, charging time and weight. VMAX’s published figures are:
| Version | Battery | Headline range | Top-performance-mode result at urban traffic speeds | Listed charge time | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SR | 48 V, 499 Wh | Up to 31 miles | 17 miles | 5 hours | 48.3 lb |
| LR | 48 V, 874 Wh | Up to 56 miles | 29.9 miles | 9 hours | 51.8 lb |
VMAX’s headline range setup uses a 165 lb (75 kg) rider travelling steadily at 12 mph in Eco/Standard mode, in moderate weather, with correct tire pressure on level ground. The separate 17-mile SR and 29.9-mile LR figures are the company’s results for top-performance mode at urban traffic speeds. They are not independent measurements, and neither set of figures guarantees the distance a particular rider will get.
Choose based on the range you need and how often you can charge, while accounting for the larger version’s extra 3.5 lb and four-hour longer listed charging time. If your route includes faster riding, hills, frequent stops or a heavier load, the headline maximum is a poor planning target; leave a margin rather than assuming it will be reached.

How comfortable and portable is it?
The VX2 Lite has a hydraulic front fork and elastomer rear suspension, making it a full-suspension design. It also uses 10-inch tubeless tires. These components describe the setup, but the available manufacturer material does not establish how well the scooter smooths out a particular road surface in independent testing.
At 48.3–51.8 lb, depending on battery, it is substantial to carry. That matters if your commute includes stairs, lifting it onto public transit or carrying it into a building. The lighter SR still weighs 48.3 lb; consider where you will store and charge the scooter before treating it as an easy last-mile option.
What brakes, display and water protection does it have?
VMAX lists a front drum brake and rear regenerative electronic brake, operated by separate brake levers. Its first-ride article contrasts this with the VX2 Hub’s rear disc brake plus regenerative braking and full-color display; the Lite uses a simpler LED display. VMAX also lists IPX6 water resistance. That rating is a manufacturer specification, not a reason to ride through hazardous conditions or ignore the product guide.

The company’s first-look article reports an unloaded 29 mph free-spin peak with the wheel off the ground, but explicitly says this is not real-world riding speed. It also says a full speed, range, hill-climb and braking test was still pending. That observation does not establish the scooter’s on-road speed or independently validate the advertised performance.
What should you check before riding?
Wear a helmet and start in a safe place
VMAX’s official VX2 Lite guide says: “Wear a helmet when riding and first try the scooter out in a safe area (e.g. parking lot).” Become familiar with the controls and braking before riding in traffic.
Check tire pressure
The guide recommends checking pressure regularly and gives a range of 36–43 PSI (2.5–3 bar), depending on rider weight. VMAX says higher pressure can improve range and lower pressure within the recommended range can soften the ride at the expense of range. Its claim of up to 10% more range from higher pressure is not a guaranteed result. Use the guide’s recommended pressure rather than exceeding it to pursue range.

A portable electric tire pump can make regular checks and top-ups more convenient. The guide lists a portable electric air compressor/tire pump as an accessory category, but that does not establish that every pump’s valve fitting will work with this scooter.
Decide whether you want the app
VMAX says its iOS and Android app can help with trip planning, including charging stops. The app is not required to operate the scooter.

How does it compare with the VX2 Hub?
VMAX’s own first-ride article describes the Lite as the more accessible model. Its stated differences are a 25 mph top speed versus 34 mph for the VX2 Hub, an LED display instead of a full-color display, and a front drum brake plus rear regeneration instead of the Hub’s rear disc brake plus regeneration. Those are the manufacturer’s comparisons; they do not establish that one model is better for every rider.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
The distinction is practical: the Lite gives up some top speed and display sophistication for a simpler configuration. If those features matter to your route or preferences, compare the Hub’s current price and full specifications directly before choosing. This article does not establish a current Hub price or a like-for-like independent test.
Who is the VX2 Lite for?
- A possible fit: a rider seeking a full-suspension scooter with a manufacturer-listed 25 mph maximum, and who can accommodate a scooter weighing at least 48.3 lb.
- Consider the SR: if the manufacturer’s 17-mile top-performance-mode result is adequate for your planned route with a meaningful reserve, and you prefer the lighter battery version.
- Consider the LR: if the larger battery and VMAX’s 29.9-mile top-performance-mode result better suit your route, and the additional weight and listed charging time work for you.
- Look elsewhere or compare carefully: if you need a genuinely easy-to-carry scooter, rely on a specific real-world range, or need proven performance data. The available material does not provide completed independent speed, range, hill-climb or braking tests.
Verdict
The VX2 Lite’s appeal is its combination of full suspension, a claimed 1,400 W peak motor and a $799 U.S. listing price observed on October 7, 2026. Its compromises are just as important: it weighs nearly 50 lb or more, has simpler display and brake hardware than the VX2 Hub, and its range figures are manufacturer claims under different modes and conditions. It may suit an urban rider prioritizing suspension and battery choice over portability, but the stated range should be planned conservatively until independent testing is available.
