The Vibe DG-985BT is a basic, low-cost on-ear Bluetooth headphone with a wired analog option—but the review evidence points to serious drawbacks. RTINGS reports poor long-session comfort, weak isolation and microphone performance, and a pronounced left/right stereo mismatch that can shift sounds to the wrong side. It may suit brief, undemanding listening if it is available very cheaply; it is a poor choice for focused listening, calls in noisy places, or games where positional audio matters.
What the Vibe DG-985BT is
The DG-985BT is a pair of on-ear stereo wireless headphones, not an in-car stereo. The product guide describes Bluetooth headphones, and the FCC filing identifies model DG-985BT under FCC ID 2AANZ985BTL with DGL Group Ltd. as the applicant. RTINGS’ review and the user guide reproduced by Manuals+ describe the product; the FCC filing is useful for identity, not proof of sound quality.
How it performs
Sound and stereo matching
RTINGS describes the sound as mid-forward, with a dip in the low treble that can make speech, vocals, and instruments sound lispy. More concerning, it reports serious mismatch between the left and right drivers. That can make elements of a stereo mix seem to shift unpredictably, undermining both music playback and positional cues in games. This is RTINGS’ assessment, not a first-hand test for this article.

Comfort and construction
RTINGS found the headphones uncomfortable over extended wear: the headband and earpads have little padding, and the design pinches. It also describes the build as thin and flimsy. These trade-offs make the DG-985BT difficult to recommend for long listening sessions, even if a low purchase price makes the initial compromise tempting.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Isolation and microphone
Noise isolation is poor, so surrounding sound can intrude. RTINGS says the integrated microphone can work for calls in a controlled environment, but sounds unnatural and is overwhelmed by background noise. It is not a strong pick for commuting or calls in busy rooms.
Bluetooth, wired use, and battery life
The 2023 guide lists Bluetooth 5.0, a wireless range of up to 33 ft (10 m), a 250 mAh battery, up to 100 hours of standby, and charging time of up to 2.5 hours. It claims 5–7 hours for both playback and talk time; these are guide specifications, not independently verified measurements. RTINGS, in its 2026 review discussion of travel and office use, reports 10 hours of battery life. The available sources therefore disagree on runtime, and neither figure should be treated as a guaranteed result for every use.

- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The headphones also support analog wired use. RTINGS says the analog connection can carry audio and microphone input with PlayStation and Xbox consoles. That does not make them a low-latency wireless gaming headset: RTINGS says they are unsuitable for wireless gaming when latency matters, and the reported stereo mismatch remains a problem for sound positioning even when wired.

Setup and basic troubleshooting
Charge and pair
- Charge the headphones through the micro USB port using the enclosed USB cable. The guide says to allow up to 2.5 hours for charging.
- Turn the headphones off. Hold Play/Pause until the indicator flashes red and blue.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the phone or tablet, choose “DG-985BT,” and enter “0000” if prompted.
- Keep the source device within the guide’s stated maximum wireless distance of 33 ft (10 m); obstacles and conditions may reduce practical range.
If pairing or playback fails
- If the headphones do not connect, repeat the pairing process and select DG-985BT from the device’s Bluetooth list.
- If you hear a long beep, the guide recommends recharging the headphones.
- The guide says to keep the headphones away from water and moisture.
The guide does not identify the connector at the power-source end of its charging cable, so confirm cable compatibility before buying a replacement.

Who should consider them—and who should skip them?
- Consider them only if: you need basic Bluetooth or analog audio at a very low price, expect short listening sessions, and can accept uncertain runtime and uneven performance.
- Skip them if: you prioritize comfort, accurate stereo imaging, quiet listening, clear calls around background noise, or wireless gaming with low latency.
RTINGS describes the model as budget-friendly and available at dollar stores, but current price, stock, and retail availability are not established here. Its review names the TOZO HT3 as a better-built option with longer battery life and active noise cancellation for somewhat more money, and suggests the Anker Soundcore P31i for readers open to earbuds and a more portable package. Those are RTINGS’ recommendations; current prices and availability have not been verified. The guide reproduced by Manuals+ states a three-month limited manufacturer warranty, but that document does not confirm whether coverage or support terms remain available today.

The Vibe DG-985BT offers the basics—Bluetooth and wired listening—but its reported stereo mismatch, poor comfort, weak isolation, and unimpressive microphone outweigh that flexibility for most people. It is defensible only as a very inexpensive, short-session option when sound accuracy and comfort are not priorities. For a primary everyday headphone, look for a better-built model with consistent left/right output and a clearer, independently tested battery-life figure.
