The Typhur Dome 2 AF03 is best understood as a wide, shallow air fryer built for food that benefits from spreading out—especially a 12-inch pizza—not as a deep basket for tall items or whole poultry. Its dual top-and-bottom heating, app controls and self-clean cycle make it unusually feature-rich, but the 19.7-inch width and premium positioning mean it suits some kitchens and cooking habits much better than others.
What the AF03 is—and what its shape means in practice
Typhur lists the AF03 in Classic Silver and Black, with a 5.6-quart capacity and a 139.5-square-inch cooking area. The basket is only 2.3 inches high. That broad, low layout is the defining trade-off: it gives you room to arrange food in a single layer, but it is not designed for tall ingredients or a whole chicken.
The appliance measures 19.7 × 15.6 × 10.3 inches and weighs 20 pounds, according to Typhur. Measure the counter area and check that you can pull the drawer fully out before buying; the capacity number alone does not convey how much horizontal space it occupies. Typhur’s product page lists the current US offer and product details, while its support specifications give electrical and dimensional information.

How well does the Typhur Dome 2 cook?
The design combines heating elements above and below the food. Typhur says this arrangement and its airflow reduce the need to flip food and can cut cooking time by up to 30%. That percentage is a manufacturer claim, not a result established by a controlled comparison in the available evidence.

In a hands-on review published April 12, 2025, Ideal Home’s Ellen Manning reported even results with chicken, chips, fish and bacon. Chips browned and crisped evenly but needed a few more minutes than the initial setting. Fish cooked in 15 minutes without turning, and bacon cooked evenly without turning. For steak, the reviewer turned the meat and extended the cooking time to reach the preferred doneness.
Those observations are useful examples, not standardized comparative test results. The review identifies the product as the Dome 2 but does not clearly establish that the tested unit was the AF03 finish and model code, so its results should not be treated as controlled AF03-specific lab findings.

Will the AF03 fit and cook a 12-inch pizza?
Typhur says a 12-inch pizza fits, and the appliance includes a Pizza mode. The roomy, shallow cooking area makes pizza a genuine use case, alongside wings, steaks and other foods that can lie flat. The machine’s maximum cooking temperature is 450°F, however, so it is still an air fryer rather than a dedicated high-temperature pizza oven. Typhur’s own Dome 2 article cautions that it cannot reach the very high temperatures used for Neapolitan pizza.
Ideal Home’s review discusses the 12-inch capacity and pizza test setup, but the available account does not provide a detailed verdict on the finished pizza. It supports the fit claim, not a promise about crust quality or restaurant-style results.

What are the controls and app like?
Ideal Home reported that app setup and pairing were straightforward. The app allowed the reviewer to adjust settings and stop cooking, and it included recipes. Starting still required pressing the physical control on the appliance, so the app is a convenience for monitoring or changing a cook rather than a way to launch it entirely remotely.
The same review noted that the display was not especially responsive and required a firm press. There is no viewing window; checking food means opening the drawer, which pauses cooking. The reviewer said cooking resumed automatically when the drawer was returned.

Typhur describes an app workflow with its wireless meat thermometer, including target-temperature monitoring and stopping at the target. Treat this as an optional accessory path, not an included feature of the fryer; check compatibility with the AF03 and current app support before relying on it.

How does cleaning work?
Typhur lists a self-cleaning mode, and the basket has a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick coating according to its specifications. In Ideal Home’s hands-on account, the drawer and grill were easy to wipe or wash and were reported as dishwasher safe. The reviewer also said a two-hour self-clean cycle removed visible greasy residue from the top element, but noticed an odor while the cycle was running. Follow the current manual for cleaning instructions and safety precautions.

AF03 vs. AF05: what changes?
Typhur says the AF03 and AF05 share core cooking performance. The AF03 is Classic Silver and Black; the AF05 is Graphite Gray. The stated functional distinction is app-based fan-speed control in Air Fry mode on the AF05. Do not assume that control is available on the AF03.
Is the Typhur Dome 2 AF03 worth it?
It is a plausible choice if your priorities are a broad one-layer cooking area, pizza compatibility, top-and-bottom heating and app-based adjustments. Ideal Home’s reviewer was positive about the versatility and evenness seen across several foods, while also flagging display responsiveness and finding the appliance expensive at the UK price encountered in 2025.
It is a less natural fit if counter width is limited, you often cook tall foods or whole poultry, or you want app control to start a cook without touching the appliance. Compare the physical footprint and current local price with other air fryers you are considering; do not infer value from the capacity figure alone.
At the time Typhur’s US product page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it displayed $299.95, with $399.99 struck through, an 18-month warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
