Steam and soleplate
The 50 g/min continuous-steam and 205 g/min boost ratings indicate the output Tefal advertises for this model. They do not establish how quickly it removes creases compared with another iron, or how it performs across different fabrics. The Durilium Airglide soleplate and precision tip are intended to support movement and access around details, but the available evidence does not independently verify those results.

Removable calc collector
Tefal says the collector is removable and intended to simplify scale maintenance. The company describes it as offering “hassle-free maintenance and effortless cleaning” and says it supports performance “built to last.” That is Tefal’s product claim, not independent proof of long-term durability. No FV6845-specific compatible replacement part was established in the available product information, so confirm compatibility against the manual or official parts information before buying one.
Automatic shutoff and vertical steaming
The listed shutoff timings are 8 minutes when the iron rests on its heel and 30 seconds when it is left on its soleplate or side. Tefal also lists vertical steaming as a feature; the available information does not establish a measured result for steaming hanging garments.

Do not confuse the FV6845 with the FV6848
The model suffix and market matter. Tefal Australia lists the FV6845 at 2400 W with a boost of up to 205 g/min. Tefal UK lists the related FV6848 at 2800 W with a boost of up to 260 g/min. Those FV6848 figures do not describe the Australian-listed FV6845. The sources do not explain every difference between the variants, so check the exact model number, plug and voltage on the item being sold rather than relying on a similar product name.
What independent reviews establish—and what they do not
CHOICE has a review page for the FV6845 and publicly lists some specifications, including a 2010–2400 W wattage range and the shutoff timings. Its expert rating and performance findings are member-only in the available page, so a CHOICE score or test conclusion cannot be stated here.

Mumsnet’s review covers the broader Ultraglide Anti-Calc Plus line, not a controlled FV6845-specific test. It gives the line a 4/5 rating and mentions smooth glide, quick heat-up, steam boost and anti-calc as positives; water-level visibility, dial readability and cord length are among its concerns. Treat that as line-level user-review context, not proof of how the FV6845 performs.
No first-hand FV6845 test is available to support claims about real-world crease removal, heat-up time, handling or comparative performance. The product information also mentions a laboratory test to standard NFT72-110 (“Sept 20”) in connection with a claim about reducing germs, but its year and full scope are not clear enough to support a general health or garment-safety conclusion.
