The Tefal Easy Fry & Grill XXL FlexCook EY801D is one drawer that can work as a single cooking space or be split into two zones with a removable divider. Tefal says its synchronization mode can time two foods to finish together, and the appliance includes a grill plate. Its clearest appeal is layout flexibility; its main shopping caveats are its substantial footprint, regional SKU differences, and the fact that advertised capacity does not guarantee every meal for eight will fit.
This is a specification- and manual-based review, not an independent hands-on test. Tefal’s listed features and instructions establish what the appliance is designed to do, but not real-world crispness, noise, temperature uniformity, durability, or comparative performance.
How the EY801D’s drawer and Flexcook divider work
Unlike an air fryer with two separate baskets, the EY801D has one drawer. Leave the removable Flexcook divider out to use the larger chamber; install it to create two cooking zones. Tefal Netherlands describes the divided arrangement as two 3.25 L zones, while Tefal lists the total capacity as 6.5 L. These are manufacturer figures, not independently measured usable volume. The design gives you a choice between a wider space for one batch and separated zones for different foods. It is not equivalent to having two removable baskets: both portions occupy the same drawer, and the divider’s usefulness depends on the size and shape of what you cook.

Can two foods finish at the same time?
Tefal’s Intelligent Synchronisation mode is intended to coordinate foods with different cooking times. The manual says the appliance calculates the timing and can prompt you to add the second food so the portions are ready together. Foods with matching cook times can be added at the same time. Groupe SEB/Tefal EY801 user manual
That is a useful feature for coordinating a main and a side without starting both at once. It is a designed function, not independent evidence that every food pairing will finish perfectly together; follow the prompts and adjust for ingredient size, loading, and the manual’s timing guidance.

What cooking functions and presets are included?
Tefal describes the EY801D as a 2-in-1 air fryer and grill. Its grill is a die-cast aluminum grid with a non-stick coating and drainage holes. Regional Tefal package information includes the grill grid and Flexcook divider, but included items can vary with the exact local SKU, so check the product listing for your market. The listed automatic programs are fries, nuggets, roasted chicken, pizza, meat, fish, vegetables, and dessert, plus a manual mode. Tefal calls the cooking “virtually smokeless”; that is the manufacturer’s qualified description, not a promise that cooking will never produce smoke. Tefal product information

Capacity, servings, and kitchen space
Tefal states a 6.5 L / 2 kg capacity and says the appliance serves up to eight people. The serving figure is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee that every kind of meal for eight will fit in one batch. Practical capacity depends on the food, how it is arranged, and serving size; a bulky roast and a portion of fries do not use the drawer in the same way. Tefal product specifications
For the Australian market, Tefal lists dimensions of 30.3 × 43 × 36 cm and a weight of 5.7 kg. Treat those measurements as market-specific and check the local SKU before planning counter or storage space. Tefal Australia support

The manual explicitly warns that cooking times are guides and may vary with the variety and batch of potatoes. For other foods, size, shape, and brand can also affect results, so treat presets and published timings as starting points rather than guarantees.
Cleaning and regional model details
Tefal Australia says the door and accessories are dishwasher safe; Dutch product information identifies the removable bowl and grill grid as dishwasher safe. Follow the care instructions supplied with the exact regional model, especially for its non-stick surfaces. Tefal Australia support · Tefal Netherlands product information
Regional suffixes matter. Tefal Australia identifies the model as EY801D; Middle East materials use EY801D27; Dutch and German materials use EY801D15, and UK listings include related EY801 references. Match the precise local SKU when checking warranty, voltage, plug, and included accessories. The Middle East page specifies 220–240 V and a UK plug; that detail should not be assumed to apply to models sold elsewhere.
Who should consider the EY801D?
- Consider it if you value switching between one wider drawer and two zones, want a grill grid, or expect to use synchronized timing for different foods.
- Check the fit carefully if counter space is limited or your typical meals rely on bulky ingredients or large portions; the published serving count does not establish the capacity for your particular menu.
- Compare alternatives by layout: look at whether they offer one open chamber or separate baskets, usable capacity, footprint, grill equipment, synchronization behavior, cleaning directions, and local electrical specifications.
Available official specifications and instructions do not establish the EY801D’s actual crispness, temperature uniformity, noise, durability, or performance against another model. Those points require independent testing rather than inference from the feature list.
