The SCANPAN Classic Induction 26 cm fry pan is the induction-compatible version of the brand’s Classic design, with a nonstick coating and a stated maximum use temperature of 250°C. It may suit you if you want a coated pan for an induction or other compatible cooktop, but the public information available does not establish how well it cooks or how durable its coating is. Check that a listing names both “Classic Induction” and “26 cm”; the number 444972 appears in CHOICE’s review title, but is not confirmed here as SCANPAN’s manufacturer SKU.
What is the SCANPAN Classic Induction 26 cm?
It is an aluminium-bodied nonstick fry pan with a steel disc cast into the base to make the pan induction-compatible, according to SCANPAN’s Classic Induction product information. The manufacturer says the range is suitable for all cookers. This is a distinct range from SCANPAN Classic, which the company says is not induction-compatible; check the full range name rather than assuming every Classic pan works on induction (Classic Induction; Classic collection).

- Body: A minimum of 90% recycled aluminium, as stated by SCANPAN.

What does the public review information establish?
CHOICE has a page titled “Scanpan Classic Induction Fry Pan 26cm 444972 review.” Its public-facing specifications list a 19 cm measured base diameter and a weight of 1 kg. CHOICE’s expert rating, performance, durability, ease-of-use and recommendation information is member-only, so those results cannot be assessed from the public page (CHOICE review page).

Those two CHOICE measurements should not be confused with the nominal 26 cm pan diameter. SCANPAN’s product page showed detailed dimensions and weight for its 20 cm variant even when 26 cm was selectable; those 20 cm specifications are not reliable specifications for the 26 cm model (SCANPAN product page).
Will it work on your cooktop?
For induction, choose the Classic Induction range specifically. SCANPAN explains that the aluminium body requires the steel disc in the base for induction use. The company describes this range as suitable for all cookers, but the available information does not provide cooktop-specific performance measurements. If you are shopping in person or online, confirm the listing identifies the product as Classic Induction and gives the size as 26 cm.

How should you use and care for it?
Keep within the stated heat limit
SCANPAN says the pan is ovenproof up to 250°C and advises against use above that temperature. The company also recommends gradual heating; overheating may damage the nonstick coating. This limit is a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified test result (SCANPAN care and product information).
Avoid abrupt temperature changes
SCANPAN’s care advice is: “Avoid quick heating and cooling”. Allow the pan to cool before cleaning, and wash it with detergent. The manufacturer warns that rapid heating and cooling should be avoided (SCANPAN care guidance).
