The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE Wi-Fi (SM-T733) is most appealing if you want a large screen for video, reading, handwritten notes, and light productivity—and can find a well-priced unit in the right condition. Its 12.4-inch display and included S Pen make it a roomy work surface, but the screen is TFT rather than OLED, and the processor specification for this Wi-Fi model is not consistent across the available documentation. Treat it as an older tablet to assess by its exact configuration, regional update status, and asking price—not by its 2021 launch price.
What the SM-T733 model is—and what it is not
SM-T733 identifies Samsung’s Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE in Samsung’s India support materials. It is not the cellular or 5G model. Memory and storage options vary by market, so confirm the model code and configuration on the specific unit or sales listing before buying. Samsung’s U.S. Wi-Fi datasheet lists a 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage configuration and a 6 GB RAM/128 GB configuration; Samsung’s launch announcement cautions that specifications may differ by model, color, market, and carrier.
The distinction matters because reviews and specifications for a cellular or 5G variant do not automatically describe the SM-T733. In particular, performance testing reported for a 5G model should not be presented as a test of this Wi-Fi tablet.
How good is the 12.4-inch screen for everyday use?
Samsung specifies a 12.4-inch, 2560 × 1600 TFT LCD. That resolution and size give you a generous area for streaming, reading, handwritten notes, and viewing two apps side by side. The trade-off is panel technology: this is TFT, not the OLED screen used in the higher-tier Galaxy Tab S7+.

GSMArena’s 2021 review describes its reviewed model’s display as standard 60 Hz. That review coverage concerns the 5G version, so treat its review-specific observations as applying to that variant rather than as an independent test of the SM-T733. Samsung specifies two speakers with AKG sound and Dolby Atmos; GSMArena also describes stereo speakers in its review of the 5G model.
A 12.4-inch tablet is a useful canvas, but its size is less convenient to carry and handle than a compact tablet. That is an ergonomic trade-off implied by the display size, not a measured portability result.
Processor and performance: why the exact chip is uncertain
The available processor claims conflict. Samsung’s U.S. Wi-Fi datasheet lists Qualcomm SM7225-4-AB, with two cores at 2.2 GHz and six at 1.8 GHz. Android Authority says the Wi-Fi model uses Snapdragon 778G and the 5G model uses Snapdragon 750G, but its review sample was the 5G model. These claims do not establish one universally verified processor for every SM-T733 sold in every market.

No benchmark or performance test of the SM-T733 is established here. Avoid assuming the chip from a review of a different variant or from an unsourced listing. If processor identity matters to your purchase, check documentation for the exact regional SKU or verify the chip on the actual tablet using device diagnostics.
Is it a good tablet for students and note-taking?
Samsung lists an S Pen in the box, which makes the S7 FE a more complete note-taking option than a tablet that requires a separate stylus purchase. Samsung also describes Samsung Notes, DeX, cross-device workflows, and Second screen as part of its software and productivity offering. The large display is useful for annotating documents or keeping notes visible beside another app; how well that fits your coursework will depend on the apps and workflow you use.
For longer typing sessions, Samsung names an optional Book Cover Keyboard. Verify that a keyboard cover is compatible with the exact SM-T733 and check its cost and availability separately. Samsung says DeX can connect wired or wirelessly to supported monitors, but the monitor and accessories are sold separately; some apps may require a paid license. Editing Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files with Microsoft 365 requires a separate license, according to Samsung’s Wi-Fi datasheet.

The base 4 GB RAM configuration is a consideration if you regularly keep many apps open or expect to use the tablet as a laptop substitute. The 6 GB configuration offers more memory headroom, but neither configuration changes the fact that this is an older tablet. Check which configuration is being sold rather than assuming all SM-T733 units have the same memory.

Samsung specifies a 10,090 mAh battery and support for 45 W Super Fast Charging. Its Wi-Fi datasheet advertises up to 11 hours of use, while noting that actual battery life depends on network, selected features, and usage patterns. These are manufacturer specifications and an estimate, not a measured endurance result for a particular used unit. Battery health on a second-hand tablet may differ substantially from its original condition.
Samsung lists USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with DisplayPort output, an 8 MP autofocus rear camera, and a 5 MP front camera. The cameras cover basic video calls and snapshots, but the tablet’s main strengths are its large display, S Pen, and media or light-work use rather than camera-focused use.

The Wi-Fi datasheet lists microSD expansion up to 1 TB. A card is sold separately; it can add room for files and media, but it does not increase the tablet’s built-in RAM or replace internal storage for every app or task. Samsung also lists 45 W charging support, which does not mean a charger capable of that rate is included with a current or used sale. Check the listing’s included accessories and regional charging compatibility.

Samsung’s support materials list manuals for Android 11, 12, 13, and 14. Samsung Mobile’s firmware history includes an Android 14 build, T733XXS9DYF1, released July 9, 2025, with a June 1, 2025 security patch level for the cited regional channel. Samsung notes that updates can vary by model, country, or operator.

Check the software version and security patch on the actual device and consult Samsung’s update information for your region before relying on it for sensitive or long-term use.
What to check before buying an older S7 FE
- Exact model and connectivity: confirm SM-T733 if you want the Wi-Fi version; do not treat 5G or cellular listings as equivalent.
- RAM and storage: verify whether the unit has 4 GB/64 GB or 6 GB/128 GB, and whether the actual market configuration differs.
- Screen and physical condition: inspect the display, frame, USB-C port, and S Pen, especially on a used or refurbished device.
- Battery condition: ask about battery health or return coverage; the original capacity specification cannot tell you how a used unit performs now.
- Software status: check the installed Android version and security patch for that unit and region.
- Included accessories: confirm the S Pen, charger, and any cover or keyboard listed in the sale. Do not assume a 45 W charger or keyboard is included.
- Price and recourse: compare the actual asking price with alternatives of similar condition and memory, and review the seller’s return policy. Current stock, prices, and refurbished grades have not been established here.
- Connectivity needs: the SM-T733 is Wi-Fi; choose a cellular variant only if you specifically need mobile-network connectivity, and assess that variant on its own specifications.
Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement quoted the Wi-Fi model from $529.99 and said the 5G model would begin at $669.99 in the U.S. in 2021. Those are historical launch prices, not current buying benchmarks or evidence of present availability.
Verdict: who should consider the Galaxy Tab S7 FE?
Consider the SM-T733 if a large 12.4-inch screen, included S Pen, and expandable storage suit your reading, video, note-taking, or lighter productivity needs—and the specific unit is in good condition at a price that reflects its age and configuration. Look elsewhere if you need an OLED or high-refresh-rate display, verified current software support for a long ownership period, dependable cellular connectivity, or a processor specification you cannot confirm. For students, it can be a practical note-taking and media tablet, but confirm the RAM/storage tier, accessories, battery condition, and regional update status before deciding.
