The Samsung Galaxy F55 5G is easiest to recommend if you want a distinctive vegan-leather finish, a smooth AMOLED display, and Samsung’s stated software-update plan. Its main compromises are a charger that is not included, weaker low-light photography, and performance limits in demanding games. It launched in India in May 2024, so its original prices below are historical—not a guide to what it costs today.
What stands out—and what doesn’t
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Distinctive vegan-leather back with saddle-stitch detailing | No charger included in the box |
| Large, vivid 120Hz AMOLED display | Low-light photos can be disappointing |
| Useful main-camera results in daylight | Heavy games can bring warmth and frame drops |
| Samsung stated a plan for four Android upgrades and five years of security updates | Reviewers disagree on selfie quality; preinstalled apps are another drawback |
How does the Galaxy F55 5G look and feel?
The F55’s main design distinction is its vegan-leather back with a saddle-stitch pattern. Samsung said the finish was appearing in its F series for the first time with this model. The phone weighs 180g and measures 7.8mm thick; Samsung listed Apricot Crush and Raisin Black color options at launch.
The finish gives the phone a more distinctive look than a conventional glossy back, and reviewers praised its styling. If you choose a phone partly for how it looks and feels, this is one of the F55’s strongest reasons to consider it.

Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits. Reviewers were positive about its vividness and smoothness. Scrolling, video, and general use are a natural fit for the large, high-refresh-rate screen.

How well do the cameras work?
Main camera in daylight
The rear system has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide camera. 91mobiles praised the camera system and daylight performance, making the main camera a reasonable choice for everyday photos in favorable light.
Low light and selfies
Low-light results are less convincing. 91mobiles said they needed improvement and noted that long exposures could produce shaky photos. Selfie assessments are mixed: 91mobiles was more positive about daylight selfies, while MySmartPrice rated selfie performance as average. The 50MP front-camera figure alone therefore does not establish consistently strong results across conditions.

What are performance, gaming, and battery life like?
The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. Reviewers described a capable everyday experience, but demanding gaming is a weaker area: 91mobiles reported warmth and occasional frame drops after gaming, while MySmartPrice also flagged difficulty with heavy-duty games. These are review observations, not controlled comparisons across every unit or software version.

What software support did Samsung promise?
The F55 launched with Android 14 and One UI 6.1, according to 91mobiles. Samsung announced four generations of Android upgrades and five years of security updates. Treat those figures as Samsung’s stated plan: its product-page wording describes potential updates and says the information is not a commitment or obligation. It does not guarantee a particular release date.
Does the Galaxy F55 5G come with a charger?
No. Both 91mobiles and MySmartPrice list the missing in-box charger as a drawback. At launch, Samsung offered a 45W travel adapter separately for ₹499 as a limited-time offer. That was a launch-era offer, not confirmation of current price or availability; check the box contents and current accessory listing before buying.

Who should buy the Samsung Galaxy F55 5G?
It may suit you if
- You value the vegan-leather styling and want a phone that looks different from a standard glass-backed design.
- A large, vivid 120Hz display and capable everyday use matter more than demanding gaming performance.
- You prefer Samsung and find its stated update plan appealing, while understanding that update timing is not guaranteed.
Consider another phone if
- You often take photos in low light and want more dependable results there.
- You play demanding games and prioritize sustained performance, low heat, or stable frame rates.
- You expect a charger to be included or want stronger assurance about selfie quality.
Before choosing it over another phone, compare the current price for the same storage tier, software-support terms, display, daylight and low-light camera results, gaming behavior, and included accessories. The review coverage identifies the Nothing Phone (2a), OnePlus Nord CE4, POCO X6 Pro, and Vivo V30e as alternatives, but current like-for-like prices and support terms are not established here.
Verdict
The Galaxy F55 5G is a style-and-display-led midrange phone with a capable everyday experience and a useful daylight main camera. Its appeal is narrower if your priorities are low-light photos, heavy gaming, or getting a charger in the box. It is most compelling for buyers who value its finish and screen, prefer Samsung, and are satisfied with the current price they can verify for their chosen storage variant.
