The Roborock Q7 M5+ adds an auto-empty dock to the Q7 M5, but the independent hands-on review available for this model family tested the charge-dock Q7 M5—not the Plus. Roborock lists 10,000 Pa suction and LiDAR navigation for the Q7 M5+, while the cleaning and mopping observations below are specifically TechRadar’s results for the non-Plus model.
What distinguishes the Q7 M5+ from the Q7 M5?
The Q7 M5+ is a robot vacuum and mop supplied with an auto-empty dock. The similarly named Q7 M5 comes with a charge-only dock. TechRadar also identifies the Q7 M5 Max+ as a separate model that adds water refill to auto-emptying. These distinctions matter: the dock functions are not interchangeable, and TechRadar’s review tested only the Q7 M5.
Roborock describes the Q7 M5+ as having PreciSense LiDAR navigation, a dual anti-tangle system, three adjustable water-flow levels, and an auto-empty dock. The company calls it an upgrade from the Q5 Max+. Its “7 weeks hands free cleaning” statement is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified result.
What does the cleaning evidence show?
TechRadar’s hands-on review was of the Q7 M5, not the Q7 M5+. The reviewer reported that the Q7 M5 picked up both large and small debris, as well as substantial dog hair from carpet. It navigated reliably and mapped accurately, but its fixed side brush struggled to reach room edges. Treat these findings as evidence about the reviewed Q7 M5; they do not establish identical results for the Q7 M5+.

Mopping and carpet
TechRadar characterized the Q7 M5’s mop as basic. In that review, it handled a dried ketchup smear, but the reviewer found the mopping wetter than expected and considered it a poor fit for delicate wood floors. The mop does not lift when crossing carpet. Those observations are also specific to the reviewed Q7 M5, not an independent Q7 M5+ test.
How should you interpret the 10,000 Pa suction figure?
Roborock’s official product listing gives the Q7 M5+ a figure of 10,000 Pa HyperForce suction. Roborock qualifies that number as based on its internal testing in Max+ mode, with a full battery, under IEC 62885-2:2021/5.11. It is a manufacturer test result, not an independent measurement or a comparison showing how the robot performs against other models.

Does the Q7 M5+ auto-empty?
Yes. Its defining difference from the Q7 M5 is the included auto-empty dock. However, the Q7 Series manual documents conditions that can prevent automatic emptying: the feature is disabled in the app, the dust bag is missing, the robot returns to the dock without cleaning, or it returns during Do Not Disturb mode. A return to the dock therefore does not guarantee an emptying cycle.

What does it cost?
Roborock’s US listing displayed different prices in search results: $249.99 against a listed $429.99 on one result and $299.99 against $429.99 on another. These are volatile store displays, not a dependable current price. Check the live listing for price, stock, and promotions before buying. TechRadar described $429.99 as the Q7 M5+ list price in a July 2025 article; that figure is historical context, not a current quote.

What should you know before setup and maintenance?
Wi-Fi and app setup
The Q7 Series manual says, “Only 2.4 GHz WiFi is supported.” It directs owners to use the Roborock app for setup and cautions that the app process can change with updates. A 5 GHz-only network will not meet the stated Wi-Fi requirement.
Consumables and upkeep
Roborock’s product listing presents washable filters for both the Q7 M5 and Q7 M5+. The Q7 Series manual covers maintenance for the filter, dust bag, brush, and mop cloth. Confirm that a replacement listing explicitly supports the Q7 M5+ before ordering; similarity in model names alone does not establish accessory compatibility.

Who should consider the Q7 M5+?
- Consider it if you want an auto-empty dock and value the listed LiDAR navigation and adjustable water flow, while accepting that the independent cleaning evidence available here is for the Q7 M5 rather than the Plus.
- Look more closely at alternatives if your priorities are dry, controlled mopping on delicate wood, reliable edge cleaning, or a mop that lifts over carpet. The Q7 M5 review raises concerns on these points, but does not establish how competing models compare.
