The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Low-Profile Tenkeyless 8KHz is aimed at competitive players who want low-profile keys with adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, and an 8,000 Hz polling option. Its manufacturer-listed 2.8 mm total travel and 0.1–2.8 mm actuation range make it a distinct choice from the standard-height Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz. Whether it suits you depends on whether you prefer a lower keyboard and will use its configurable input controls—not simply on its polling rate.

What this keyboard is—and what it is not

Razer announced the Huntsman V3 Pro Low-Profile Tenkeyless 8KHz on August 20, 2026, describing it as a low-profile analog optical esports keyboard. It is a tenkeyless (TKL) layout, so it omits the number pad. This is the low-profile model, not the standard-height Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz. Razer’s announcement and official product page list its features and specifications.

The available evidence supports a feature and fit assessment, not a claim that this keyboard has been independently tested against a full set of competitors. For hands-on observations, Windows Central says its reviewer used the keyboard for two weeks in a mix of work and gaming; those impressions should be understood as that reviewer’s experience, not a controlled comparison. Read the Windows Central hands-on review.

Does the low-profile design fit your setup?

Razer lists a 19.5 mm front height and 2.8 mm total key travel. The lower profile is the key practical distinction for someone choosing between this and the regular-height TKL version: buy it because you prefer a lower key position and shorter travel, not because the word “low-profile” guarantees better performance. The listed travel is the total movement available; actuation can be adjusted within that range.

  • RAZER SNAP TAP — Prioritize the latest input between two selected keys without having to release the previous one, and enjoy more responsive inputs for near-instant directional changes in FPS games (latest firmware update required)
  • RAPID TRIGGER — A step up from traditional mechanical or optical keyboards to achieve the most responsive and precise inputs; reset keys at the slightest lift of a finger, and experience an advantage in speed that is especially useful for movement in competitive FPS games
  • ANALOG OPTICAL SWITCHES GEN-2 — Max out on precision and response with advanced switches for ultra fast repeated inputs, a 0.1–4.0 mm adjustable actuation range, and a 100 million keystroke lifespan
  • QUICK ONBOARD ADJUSTMENTS — Make precise, on-the-fly adjustments to actuation height or Rapid Trigger sensitivity with the visual aid of an onboard LED array while saving the settings to the keyboard with no software required
  • A likely fit: you already prefer low-profile keyboards, want a TKL layout, and expect to tune actuation or use Rapid Trigger.
  • A less certain fit: you have no preference about profile, rarely change input settings, or primarily want a number pad. The available information does not establish that the low profile improves typing comfort or game performance for every player.

Windows Central’s review is the source to consult for firsthand impressions of typing feel, sound, comfort, and everyday use. Those qualities are subjective; the cited two-week routine is not a standardized test across users or keyboards.

What do adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger change?

Adjustable actuation: choose when a press registers

Razer specifies an adjustable actuation range of 0.1 mm to 2.8 mm. A shallower actuation setting registers a press with less key movement; a deeper setting requires more movement. This gives players room to tune sensitivity, but the shortest setting is not automatically best: a very sensitive key may register unintended presses if your fingers rest on it or you make small movements.

Rapid Trigger: reset based on key movement

Razer lists Rapid Trigger as a feature. In practical terms, it is intended to let a key reset as it moves back upward rather than waiting for a fixed reset point, which can help with repeated inputs in games that reward quick directional changes. The benefit depends on the game, the player’s technique, and configuration; it is not a universal advantage.

What do 8KHz polling and the latency figure mean?

Razer advertises True 8000 Hz HyperPolling. Polling rate describes how often a keyboard reports its state to the computer: 8,000 Hz corresponds to a nominal interval of 0.125 milliseconds between reports. That interval is not the same as total input-to-screen latency, and it does not mean a game or display updates at 8,000 frames per second. The benefit a player notices depends on the full system and game as well as the keyboard.

Razer reports an average latency of 0.39 ms based on 20 measurements, with all keyboards in its comparison set to 0.1 mm actuation. The measurement ran from switch actuation until the signal reached the host USB port. Razer says that result was 52% lower than the nearest competitor in its test, rounding the percentage to a whole number, and cautions that end-to-end latency varies with test setup and devices. This is a manufacturer-reported result, not an independent benchmark or a guarantee of the response time you will experience. See Razer’s test description.

What are Snap Flex, Snap Tap, and Dual-Keypress Priority?

Razer describes these as input-control features. They concern how the keyboard handles selected key combinations or competing directional inputs; they are configuration options, not benefits every player needs. In games where simultaneous directional keys matter, such controls may change how inputs are prioritized or interpreted. Check the current product documentation and game rules before relying on a specific behavior, and use the settings only if they suit your preferred controls.

How should you compare it with the standard-height TKL?

The clearest established difference is profile: this model is explicitly low-profile and has a listed front height of 19.5 mm and total travel of 2.8 mm. Razer’s announcement and product page list adjustable actuation from 0.1 mm to 2.8 mm, Rapid Trigger, and 8,000 Hz HyperPolling for this low-profile model. The available source details do not provide a complete standardized side-by-side test or enough comparative specifications to declare one version faster, more comfortable, or better overall.

What to verify before buying

  • Confirm the listing says “Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz”; do not assume a listing for the standard-height TKL is the same keyboard.
  • Check the local SKU, availability, current price, and warranty for your region. These details are not established here and can change.
  • Confirm current software and onboard-profile behavior in Razer’s documentation if your purchase depends on a particular configuration workflow. Specific setup steps and profile behavior are not established by the cited sources.
  • Consider whether your game and play style make the input controls useful, and whether you are willing to adjust and learn a sensitive actuation setup.
