The LÂG HyVibe 50 HV50DE combines a full-size steel-string dreadnought with H2 electronics that play effects and loops through the guitar body. Its appeal is a self-contained way to explore sounds, practice with Bluetooth audio, and build layered loops—not a promise that the guitar replaces an amp or PA in every setting. The exact-model specifications below come from LÂG; hands-on workflow and sound observations are attributed to a review of a different H2-equipped guitar, the HV10ACE.
What is the LÂG HyVibe 50 HV50DE?
The HV50DE is a right-handed, full-size dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar with HyVibe H2 built in. Unlike a conventional guitar that needs a separate effects processor to create these sounds, its soundboard actuators excite the body so it functions as a speaker for the system. The guitar also has a quarter-inch output for connecting to an amplifier or another external device, as documented in the HV50DE product information and the H2 manual.
That makes the instrument more than an effects unit attached to a generic acoustic: the body format and acoustic construction are part of the purchase decision. It is worth weighing the dreadnought’s size and feel against the creative features, and considering whether the body-based playback suits your intended use.

What effects and looping tools are built in?
HV50DE-listed effects
The product page for this exact model lists six adjustable effects: reverb, chorus, delay, tremolo, octaver, and distortion. HyVibe’s broader effects support page gives a system-level list that also includes phaser, acoustic boost, and echo. These lists are not identical, so the HV50DE’s own page is the more relevant guide to what is specified for this model.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Looper and Bluetooth playback
LÂG describes recording a base loop and overdubbing up to three additional layers. The guitar also has Bluetooth speaker mode, so you can stream audio through its body. Those are manufacturer-listed functions, not independent performance measurements. The product page lists a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a manufacturer-stated runtime of over 10 hours of continuous play; that figure has not been independently tested here.
How does the guitar play and sound?
Construction and core specifications
The HV50DE has a solid Engelmann spruce top, Macassar back and sides, and a Khaya neck. Its fingerboard and bridge are Black Brankowood; it has 20 frets, a 650 mm scale, and steel strings. LÂG lists the original strings as coated phosphor bronze light gauge 12–52. The listed accessories in the box are a hybrid gigbag, power supply, and USB-C cable. These are specifications for the HV50DE, not assumptions about every guitar in the HyVibe 50 line.

What related H2 hands-on coverage can—and cannot—tell you
MusicRadar’s hands-on review covers the LÂG HyVibe 10 HV10ACE with H2, not the HV50DE. In that review, the effects were considered creatively useful overall, although some tones sounded synthetic to the reviewer. The review also found the body speaker more limited than a purpose-built amplifier or PA, with more substance and warmth when connected to an acoustic amp. Treat those as one reviewer’s impressions of the related H2 setup, not direct listening results for the HV50DE.
MusicRadar’s reviewer wrote, “The Hyvibe 10 offers an awful lot to explore and there’s serious potential here, especially for solo performers who want to maximise their sonic firepower on stage.” That comment is about the HV10ACE and should not be read as a specific verdict on the HV50DE.

Is the looper practical to control?
The HV50DE product page establishes the loop layer count, but the available hands-on workflow account is from the different HV10ACE. MusicRadar describes setting the BPM and time signature in the metronome section, navigating to the looper, and then starting recording; its reviewer found this multi-step interface somewhat clunky. If you expect to trigger or change loops while playing, that is a practical consideration to check on the exact guitar before buying.
The MusicRadar review identifies an HV-S4 footswitch as an additional purchase. HyVibe’s shop lists 2-switch and 4-switch Bluetooth pedals, but the available information does not establish that a specific pedal is compatible with the HV50DE. Confirm H2 and model compatibility with the seller or manufacturer rather than assuming it.

When does the HV50DE make sense?
It may suit players who want an all-in-one creative instrument
- You want effects and layered looping available from the guitar without setting up separate effects gear for every practice session.
- Bluetooth playback through the guitar body would be useful for playing along with audio.
- You want a full-size dreadnought and have considered whether that body shape and size fit your playing style.
- You are interested in experimenting with effects and accept that body-based playback is not necessarily a substitute for stage amplification.
A conventional acoustic-electric setup may be preferable if…
- You mainly want straightforward amplified acoustic sound and already have—or prefer to select—separate effects or amplification.
- You need reliable hands-free loop control and cannot confirm a compatible footswitch before purchase.
- You would rather choose a different body format, neck feel, or acoustic construction than the HV50DE’s dreadnought design and listed materials.
What should you check before buying?
- Exact model: Confirm that a listing is for the HV50DE. The researched $1,699 US listing is for the separate HV50ACE Auditorium Bevel Cutaway Gloss model, not the HV50DE, and should not be used as the HV50DE’s price.
- Region and stock: Check the current price, availability, and included items for the exact variant and country. A current HV50DE price was not established in the cited sources.
- Output needs: Consider whether the guitar’s body playback is enough for your use or whether you will connect its quarter-inch output to an amp or external device.
- Control workflow: If loop operation or hands-free switching is important, confirm the interface and accessory compatibility for the HV50DE/H2 specifically.
For comparison, look at body format and playability, acoustic build and setup, effects and looper workflow, sound delivery, and exact variant price rather than judging by the “smart guitar” label alone. MusicRadar names Yamaha TransAcoustic for players primarily seeking reverb and chorus, and LAVA Music ME 4 as another feature-rich smart-guitar approach. Those are comparison leads, not evidence that the instruments have equivalent sound, build, features, or price.
Can you add HyVibe to another guitar instead?
The official H2 installation kit is a separate retrofit option, not an accessory required for the factory-equipped HV50DE. HyVibe says the kit works with steel-string and nylon-string guitars, requires a single saddle, and should be installed by a professional luthier or guitar technician. When its product page was accessed, the kit was out of stock and showed expected delivery in late September 2026; check its current availability before considering it.
