The Haier HRF565YHC is a large, discontinued quad-door fridge-freezer with 519 L of usable storage, a refillable water dispenser and a manual twist ice maker. Its listed body dimensions are 1804 × 833 × 716 mm, but the recommended installation space is larger. Public review evidence does not establish its performance scores, and published annual energy-use figures conflict, so check the exact unit’s energy label and condition before buying.
How much usable storage does the HRF565YHC have?
Haier’s quick reference guide, dated 27 January 2022, lists 565 L gross capacity and 519 L usable capacity. Those figures describe different measurements: the usable volume is split between 343 L for the refrigerator and 176 L for the freezer. Appliances Online also lists the 519 L usable total and the same compartment split.
For comparing refrigerators, use usable capacity against usable capacity. A gross-capacity figure is not an equivalent comparison and can make one appliance appear larger than another.
Will it fit in your kitchen?
The Haier guide lists the refrigerator body at 1804 mm high × 833 mm wide × 716 mm deep. CHOICE’s recommended installation envelope is 186 cm high × 94 cm wide × 77 cm deep. The difference matters: body dimensions alone do not account for space around the appliance or room for doors to swing open.

- Measure the full installation space, including the clearance specified in the user guide. CHOICE’s envelope is a useful planning reference, not a substitute for the model’s installation instructions.
- Check that doors can open without hitting walls, cabinets or nearby appliances. Appliances Online notes that the doors protrude as they swing and that the body-width figure does not include door-swing clearance.
- Measure the delivery route too: doorways, stairs, hallways and turning points can be tighter than the final fridge location.
Haier’s guide says: “The product dimensions and specifications in this page apply to the specific product and model.” The same guide, dated 27 January 2022, cautions that specifications may change and recommends checking with Customer Care to confirm the information applies to the current model.
How do the water dispenser and ice maker work?
The HRF565YHC has a non-plumbed water dispenser, so it uses a refillable reservoir rather than a connected water line. Its ice maker is a manual twist-style mechanism with a bin. That setup avoids the need to plumb the fridge, but it is not a plumbed dispenser or automatic ice production system.

What should you know about energy use?
The Haier guide lists a 3-star energy rating, which CHOICE also shows on its public model page. Annual consumption figures published by two other sources do not match: CHOICE reports 490 kWh/year on a page accessed in 2026, while Appliances Online reports 401 kWh/year on a page accessed in 2026. The guide’s retrieved specifications give the star rating but no matching annual kWh figure.

What features are listed in the Haier guide?
The 2022 quick reference guide describes a black quad-door refrigerator-freezer with external LED controls, two adjustable glass shelves, six door shelves, LED lighting, humidity-controlled crisper bins and a frost-free freezer. It names the produce crisper feature HumidityZone and says it helps retain moisture. DryZone is described as reducing moisture for foods such as deli meat, cheese, pasta and nuts. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent evidence of longer food life.
What do public reviews establish about performance?
CHOICE identifies 2022 as the model’s test year, but its public page does not disclose the Expert Rating, recommendation status, pros and cons, or detailed results for temperature stability, evenness, range, heat-load handling, noise and running cost. Those details are members-only, so a public-page listing is not enough to infer how the fridge performed in those tests.

Is the HRF565YHC still available, and what warranty is listed?
ProductReview.com.au and CHOICE label the model discontinued. That does not establish whether a particular shop or marketplace currently has stock: availability, condition, seller and delivery region need to be checked at the time of purchase.
Haier’s quick reference guide lists two years of parts-and-labour warranty, plus an additional ten years covering compressor parts only. That is not a twelve-year parts-and-labour warranty. Actual coverage depends on the applicable warranty terms and purchase circumstances, so confirm the terms for the specific unit.
Who is this fridge suited to?
The published specifications point to a buyer who wants a large quad-door layout and can accommodate its installation envelope, and who is comfortable refilling the water reservoir and manually handling ice. The available public evidence is not sufficient to make a performance-based verdict: CHOICE’s detailed test results are restricted, owner feedback is sparse, and the energy-use listings disagree.
