What the HRF520FHS offers
Haier Australia describes the HRF520FHS as a 600 Series French-door refrigerator freezer, available in Satina and Black finishes. Its current product listing specifies 489L of total storage: 358L in the refrigerator and 131L in the freezer. These are Haier’s stated usable-volume figures, not independent measurements. The refrigerator specification includes adjustable glass shelves, door shelves, LED lighting, an external LED display, a door alarm and humidity-controlled crisper bins. Haier also lists a three-setting MyZone drawer, intended to give you a choice of storage settings for different foods. The freezer is frost-free and has three drawers, a manual ice tray and a Super Freeze function. These are listed features; the available information does not establish how well the appliance performs in everyday use.

Will it fit your space?
Haier lists the cabinet dimensions as 1725 mm high × 790 mm wide × 686 mm deep. Those figures describe the appliance, not the full space needed to install and use it. Measure the opening, account for door swing and any required ventilation clearance, and check that the delivery route—including doorways, stairs and turns—can accommodate the refrigerator. Haier’s 2026 quick reference guide provides the listed dimensions.

CHOICE’s listing displays a recommended installation width of 89 cm, which is wider than the refrigerator’s listed 790 mm cabinet width. How much usable storage does it have?
There is a notable discrepancy between the figures published by Haier and CHOICE. Haier’s current listing gives 489L total storage, split into 358L refrigerator and 131L freezer. CHOICE’s listing instead displays 514L total claimed volume, split into 373L fridge and 141L freezer. The available listing information does not explain why these figures differ or establish that they use the same measurement basis. Don’t treat them as interchangeable: use Haier’s figures when referring to its stated storage volume, and attribute the larger figures specifically to CHOICE’s claimed-volume listing.

For a household deciding whether the refrigerator is large enough, capacity alone is an imperfect guide. Consider how much fresh food you store, how often you freeze bulk purchases, and whether the three freezer drawers and dedicated MyZone drawer suit the way you organize food. No independent capacity measurement is established here.

The dispenser uses an internal refillable tank rather than a household water-line connection. That means you do not need a plumbed water supply to use it, but you will need to refill the tank. Haier identifies the model as having non-plumbed water in its product listing and quick reference guide.

Energy use: check the current label
Haier’s current product listing gives the HRF520FHS a 4.5-star energy rating and annual consumption of 336 kWh. These are manufacturer-published label specifications, not a measurement of an individual household’s electricity use. Actual consumption can vary with use and conditions. Older material has different figures: Haier’s guide dated 6 July 2023 lists 358 kWh per year and a 4-star rating for the model. Because the figures differ by document, check the energy label supplied with the specific unit and rely on the current label rather than combining the older and newer values. What does the warranty cover?
Haier lists two years of parts and labour coverage, plus an additional ten years covering compressor parts only. The additional period is not ten years of full-appliance coverage. What this review can—and cannot—establish
The available specifications describe the layout, listed functions, dimensions, stated capacity, energy-label figures and warranty scope.
