Haier Australia identifies the HRF510BW as a white 500 Series bottom-freezer refrigerator, with Satina also listed as an available finish. Haier describes the layout as a 70:30 fridge-to-freezer split. The model has two freezer drawers and a manual ice tray rather than an automatic ice maker.

How practical is the capacity and storage layout?
The 379 L refrigerator section is substantially larger than the 138 L freezer section, so the allocation is most suitable for households that prioritize fresh and chilled food over frozen storage. Capacity alone does not establish how much usable space a household will have: shelf positions, drawer organization and the size of the items you store also matter.

Haier lists three adjustable glass shelves and humidity-controlled crisper storage. It describes its Humidity Zone drawer as helping preserve produce, but that is a manufacturer feature claim rather than an independent comparative storage result. The Multi-Zone Air system is also a listed feature; Haier says it circulates cool air across shelves and corners. No independent temperature-uniformity result is available in the public evidence described below.
What are the energy claims?
Haier publishes a 5.5-star energy rating and annual consumption of 285 kWh for this model. Those figures are useful for comparing published specifications with other refrigerators, but they are not a guarantee of a particular household’s electricity use. Actual consumption can depend on factors such as room conditions, settings, loading and how often the doors are opened.

Will it fit, including with the door open?
The refrigerator measures 1725 mm high, 790 mm wide and 707 mm deep when closed. Haier’s April 2025 specification guide gives cavity dimensions of 1775 mm high, 890 mm wide and a minimum 757 mm depth. It also records an overall width of 1249 mm and depth of 1439 mm with the door open. Treat these as planning dimensions, not a substitute for current installation instructions: Haier explicitly says its specification guide should not be used as installation guidance.

Confirm the door’s opening direction, nearby cabinetry and whether the door can open far enough for the drawers and shelves to be used. The door is reversible, according to Haier, but the intended hinge arrangement and clearances need to work in your kitchen. What features does it have, and what is missing?
- Freezer: Haier lists a frost-free freezer, two drawers and a manual ice tray. The documented guide does not establish an automatic ice maker or water dispenser for the HRF510BW. Do not assume features of related model variants apply to this exact model.
- Cooling functions: Super Cooling and Super Freeze are listed. Haier says Super Freeze works quickly to freeze food and help preserve taste, texture and nutrients; this is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independently measured freeze-time or food-quality result.
- Other listed details: Reversible door, door alarm, interior light and fingerprint-resistant finish. These are manufacturer-stated features, not independently evaluated performance findings.

What does the warranty cover?
Haier lists two years of parts and labour coverage, followed by an additional ten years covering compressor parts only. The extra period is not a ten-year whole-appliance warranty. Review the warranty terms supplied for the unit and confirm what labour, call-out costs and other conditions apply.

What do independent reviews establish?
CHOICE lists the HRF510BW as a freezer-on-bottom model and records 2025 as its test year. Its public page displays specification fields including capacity and the manufacturer’s energy figures, but the expert rating and detailed results—including temperature performance, noise, reliability and satisfaction—are member-only. Price snapshots and buying checks
Prices are time-sensitive and the available snapshots are not like-for-like current quotes. Haier’s product page listed an RRP of A$1,399; Appliances Online displayed A$1,134 for the model when accessed for this article. CHOICE’s page displayed A$1,599 at that time. Confirm the live price, delivery, installation and removal costs for your postcode before comparing offers. The retailer listing also showed 4.7 stars from 43 reviews at access time; that changing customer-review snapshot is not an independent performance test.
