The Bosch SMU6HCS01A is a 60 cm Series 6 built-under dishwasher with room for 15 place settings, a manufacturer-stated noise level of 44 dB(A), and features including Home Connect, Extra Dry and an Extra Clean Zone. Its published specifications look promising, but the accessible independent listing does not reveal test scores, so there is not enough public evidence to call its cleaning, drying or noise performance independently verified. Whether it suits you depends on fit, the rack layout and the value you place on its features.
What the SMU6HCS01A offers
Bosch Australia identifies this model as a Series 6, 60 cm built-under dishwasher in brushed steel with an anti-fingerprint finish. The specifications include 15 place settings, Home Connect, a height-adjustable upper basket, Extra Dry and an Extra Clean Zone. Bosch’s product page displayed a price of A$1,699 including GST when accessed on 7 October 2026; price and availability can change.
Its published dimensions are 815 × 598 × 573 mm (H × W × D). Check the cabinet opening, door clearance and connection requirements against the actual kitchen and Bosch’s official installation instructions before buying. A stated appliance width of 598 mm does not, by itself, establish that it will fit a particular cabinet opening.
How it handles loading, washing and drying
Racks and capacity
The 15-place-setting capacity is specified in the Bosch manual. The manual describes an adjustable top basket, folding prongs and a baking-sheet spray head; cutlery storage may be a drawer or basket depending on configuration. Bosch also promotes Rackmatic height adjustment. Check the supplied configuration and rack arrangement with the retailer if a particular cutlery layout matters to you.

Extra Clean Zone and detergent assistance
Bosch says the Extra Clean Zone in the upper basket provides additional cleaning for items placed there, and notes that using it increases consumption. Dosage Assist is described as helping a detergent tablet dissolve steadily. These are manufacturer feature descriptions, not independent test results.
Drying and rinse aid
The listed drying system is a heat exchanger. Extra Dry raises the final-rinse temperature and extends the drying phase; the manual says this uses more energy and takes longer. Bosch’s manual advises: “For optimum drying results, use rinse aid.” It specifies rinse aid intended for domestic dishwashers. The available evidence does not establish how well this model dries plastic in a controlled comparison.

How quiet and efficient is it?
Bosch publishes a noise specification of 44 dB(A) re 1 pW. Treat that as the manufacturer’s stated figure, not an independently measured result. CHOICE’s public specification fields list 4 energy stars, 5.5 water stars, claimed annual energy use of 245 kWh and claimed water use of 11 L per cycle. These are published specification claims, not accessible CHOICE laboratory findings.
CHOICE’s model listing also shows 15 place settings, a two-year warranty and Germany as country of origin. Its expert rating and washing, drying, efficiency, noise, program-time, reliability and satisfaction results were not visible in the accessed public listing. The year tested was not publicly visible there either, so the listed consumption figures should not be presented as results from a specified test year or program.

What do independent and owner reviews establish?
CHOICE has a model-specific listing, but the public page accessed does not disclose enough of its testing to judge this dishwasher’s results or to say CHOICE recommends it. Its public fields provide specifications rather than a usable public performance score.
ProductReview.com.au showed 3.6/5 from 15 reviews when accessed in 2026, with displayed sentiment split of 60% positive and 40% negative. One visible positive reviewer praised ease of use, filter cleaning and quiet operation. These are self-selected owner reports, not controlled tests or evidence of population-level reliability; the review total and score may change.

Who should consider this dishwasher?
- Consider it if its dimensions and built-under installation suit your kitchen, 15 place settings meet your needs, and you value the listed rack adjustments, app connectivity and additional wash and drying options.
- Look for more evidence before deciding if independently verified wash or drying performance, measured noise, or long-term reliability is central to your choice. The accessible CHOICE listing does not provide those results.
