Product sheets agree on the model, 520 mm width, main dimensions, boost airflow and broadly stated connected load, but differ on filter material and controls. One describes aluminium filters and button controls; another describes dishwasher-proof stainless-steel filters and knobs. The 2018 Australian brochure also lists 10 W total lighting and 275 W connected load, rather than the 1 W-per-light and 277 W figures on newer sheets. Check the data plate, local product sheet and manual for the exact version you are considering rather than assuming one configuration applies everywhere.

Will it fit your cabinet?
Fit is a key constraint. The 520 mm-wide appliance needs a stated niche 492 mm wide, 330 mm high and 256 mm deep. Measure the actual opening and compare it with the installation drawing for your region; nominal product width alone is not enough to confirm compatibility.
- Confirm the cabinet opening’s height, width and depth against the local installation drawing.
- Check that the duct route and outlet location work with the cabinet and the supplied or separately required fittings.
- Confirm installation clearances above your cooktop using the current local manual and applicable rules.
How well does it extract?
ASKO publishes a boost airflow of 680 m³/h. Treat that as a specification, not an independently tested result or a promise of real-world extraction in your kitchen. Duct diameter, route length and bends affect the installation; the manual says matching the duct diameter is best and that shorter runs with fewer bends help the hood work better.

CHOICE maintains separate ducted and recirculating listings, but the accessible pages gate the expert rating, test scores and some performance details. They do not provide a basis for claiming a measured extraction, noise or ease-of-use result. For a meaningful comparison with another hood, use test results from the same testing body and protocol rather than comparing this model’s published boost figure with another model’s laboratory score.

Ducted installation
Ducted use carries air out of the kitchen through a connected pipe. The ASKO/Gorenje CC4525S / 4000 manual’s indexed text gives 120 mm and 150 mm connecting-pipe options and recommends matching the duct diameter. CHOICE lists a 120 mm adapter and non-return flap among supplied items. Included accessories may vary by seller or regional package, so check the actual listing before buying parts.

Recirculating installation
Recirculating use requires carbon filters. CHOICE’s listing identifies Pelgrim KF93/P01, says two are needed and gives a four-month replacement interval. That is a part lead and interval in the listing, not a guarantee of current stock or compatibility with every regional revision. Confirm the exact fit and availability before ordering.
Installation height and setup
The indexed text for the ASKO/Gorenje CC4525S / 4000 manual specifies a minimum clearance of 650 mm above gas cooking surfaces and 500 mm above electric, ceramic or induction surfaces. The manual also advises following local ventilation regulations and says installation should be carried out by a recognized fitter. These are manual instructions, not a substitute for checking the current local manual, cooktop requirements and regulations for your installation.
