No official Nintendo source reviewed confirms a game titled Super Mario Galactic Wonder. The phrase may mix up Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a Nintendo Switch game, with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, an animated film—but that explanation is an inference, not a confirmed origin. The claim that it looks like the best Mario game in years is therefore not established.
What is “Super Mario Galactic Wonder”?
Its identity is unverified. Nintendo’s official sources identify Super Mario Bros. Wonder as a Nintendo Switch game and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as a film. They do not establish a game with the combined title “Super Mario Galactic Wonder.” A search that does not find an official listing cannot prove that no such product exists, but there is not enough evidence here to treat it as an announced or released game.
Which real Mario products might the title refer to?
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is available for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo highlights Wonder Flowers, which change both the familiar gameplay and the game world. Nintendo also lists the original Switch game in its official store.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Nintendo’s September 12, 2025 announcement named The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as an animated film and scheduled its worldwide theatrical release to begin April 3, 2026, with distribution by Universal Pictures. That announcement concerns a movie, not a game called “Super Mario Galactic Wonder.”

What is confirmed about Wonder on Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo Support identifies a Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park upgrade pack as available for purchase. The support page explains the available DLC and upgrade path: Nintendo Support: What DLC Is Available?. This is a confirmed edition path for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, not evidence of a separate game bearing the disputed title.
Is it the best Mario game in years?
There is no sound basis for that verdict until the game being discussed is identified. The available official sources establish neither a game called “Super Mario Galactic Wonder” nor review evidence comparing it with other Mario games. “Best in years” is an opinion that would need a clearly identified game and a stated basis for comparison; it should not be presented as a supported conclusion from the title alone.

How to verify the claim
- Look for the exact title on an official Nintendo game or support page; do not assume a similar name identifies the same product.
- Check whether the source describes a game, an edition or upgrade, or a film. Those are distinct products.
- For a ranking such as “best in years,” look for attributable reviews or a transparent comparison of the identified game with relevant earlier releases.
