Sharktech Public Cloud is a hosted OpenStack service with a monthly base allocation and metered charges for additional use. Its published features and billing model make it a flexible option to evaluate, but the displayed $39 monthly base is not a complete workload estimate—and the available evidence does not establish independent performance results or user sentiment.

What Sharktech Public Cloud provides

Sharktech describes Public Cloud as an OpenStack-based virtual data center. You can allocate compute, memory and storage across one or more virtual machines, then configure items such as networks, images and related services through its portal or APIs. The listed capabilities include private networks, routers, floating IPs, firewalls, load balancers, images and volumes. These are provider-described capabilities, not independently tested findings. The OpenInfra Foundation lists Sharktech Cloud Services as an OpenStack Powered product and identifies Public, Dedicated and Private Cloud offerings. That listing helps establish the service’s OpenStack ecosystem context; it is not a performance audit or customer review. OpenInfra Foundation marketplace listing

How billing works—and what the base price does not tell you

Sharktech’s Public Cloud page displays a “$39.00/month base” figure. Treat it as a displayed base price, not as the expected total for a particular workload. Sharktech’s cloud pages show different pricing and plan views, and the official rate table includes usage dimensions such as CPU, memory, storage, IPv4 and bandwidth. The available information therefore does not support a single universal all-in price. Public Cloud page and Cloud services page

Before ordering, check the live configurator for the selected location, billing cycle, included allocation, rates for extra usage and estimated final charges. A workload that grows beyond its included allocation can cost more than the base figure.

Resource ceilings are not spending caps

Small, Medium and Large Public Cloud plans have resource ceilings; Enterprise has no preset ceiling. Sharktech explicitly cautions: “Resource ceilings are not monetary spending caps.” A ceiling limits resources available under a plan; it does not necessarily limit the bill. Review the applicable metered rates and monitor usage rather than treating a plan ceiling as a maximum-spend control. Sharktech Public Cloud FAQ

Public Cloud versus Dedicated Cloud

Sharktech’s principal distinction is how the allocation is billed. Public Cloud combines a base allocation with charges for use above what is included. Dedicated Cloud is described as a fixed allocation at a fixed price, without hourly resource charges or automatic overages; Sharktech says the allocation can be upgraded. Consideration Public Cloud Dedicated Cloud
Billing approach Monthly base allocation plus metered charges for usage beyond the included resources Fixed allocation at a fixed price, as described by Sharktech
Growth and flexibility Suited to workloads that may need additional resources, with extra usage affecting the bill Allocation is fixed until upgraded; Sharktech describes upgrades as available
Budget planning Requires estimating and tracking metered use; resource ceilings are not monetary spending caps More predictable allocation price according to the provider’s description; confirm the exact configuration and terms before ordering

Choose between them based on whether variable resource use or a fixed allocation better fits your workload and budget controls. Confirm the included resources and commercial terms for the configuration you intend to buy; the published descriptions alone do not establish an all-in cost for either option.

Features and deployment locations

Sharktech describes support for Linux and Windows virtual machines, NVMe, SSD and HDD storage tiers, user networks, security controls, compatible image uploads, API automation and IP-restricted API access. Its cloud-services page also describes official Linux images updated weekly and OpenStack APIs for compute, storage, networking and identity. These are provider statements; they do not independently verify security effectiveness, patching outcomes or uptime. Public Cloud page and Cloud services page

The Public Cloud page lists five locations: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago and Amsterdam. Confirm that your chosen configuration is available in the location you need through the live ordering flow. Sharktech Public Cloud locations

Does the service have independent reviews or benchmarks?

The available material does not establish independent user sentiment specific to Sharktech Public Cloud, firsthand testing, workload benchmarks, comparative performance data, uptime records or support-response times. Sharktech’s homepage displays testimonials praising support and server or network quality, but they are selected and published by the provider, so they cannot establish general customer sentiment or the Public Cloud experience. Accordingly, the service can be assessed here by its published platform, feature and billing descriptions, not by verified real-world performance. Readers who need evidence about a production workload should seek comparable independent measurements and confirm service terms directly; no benchmark-based ranking is supported by the available information.

Who should consider Sharktech Public Cloud?

  • Potential fit: Teams seeking an OpenStack-based environment with virtual machines, storage choices, networking features and API access, provided they are prepared to estimate and monitor metered usage.
  • Use caution: Buyers who need a firm spending ceiling should not infer one from a Public Cloud resource ceiling. Verify billing controls and rates before committing.
  • Consider fixed allocation instead: If a fixed allocation and bill are more important than metered growth, compare Sharktech’s Dedicated Cloud terms and exact configuration.
  • Require validation: If the decision depends on measured latency, throughput, uptime or support response, the published materials cited here do not answer those questions.
