Rockstar and Take-Two’s November 5, 2019 PC launch announcement said the game had sold in approximately 25 million copies worldwide on PS4 and Xbox One. The same announcement claimed more than 175 Game of the Year awards and over 250 perfect scores. Those are the publisher’s figures and award claims as stated in 2019; they are not a current independent review or a guarantee that the game will fit your tastes.
The release announcement gives the original PS4 and Xbox One release date as October 26, 2018, and the PC release date as November 5, 2019. Those dates help identify the editions and release history, but they do not answer whether the game is right for an individual player. The decision still comes down to whether you want its story, whether the specific price is available in your region, and whether the platform’s access requirements suit you.
