The claim that Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially free to download until October 12 has not been confirmed by an official offer page in the available evidence. A report published by Ranzware on October 11, 2026, makes that claim, but its page could not be independently inspected. Steam, meanwhile, showed a paid purchase promotion ending October 22 when its listing was accessed; that does not rule out a separate giveaway on another store.
Is Red Dead Redemption 2 free to download until October 12?
It is unverified. The Ranzware headline says the game is officially available as a free download until October 12, but no Rockstar announcement or authorized offer page confirming the claim was found. Because the Ranzware page could not be opened, its details and terms could not be checked. See the Ranzware report.

This is not proof that no giveaway exists. It means the claim should not be treated as official until Rockstar or the storefront named in the offer publishes verifiable terms.
What does the Steam listing show?
Steam lists Red Dead Redemption 2 as a paid purchase, identifies Rockstar Games as its developer and publisher, and gives December 5, 2019, as the PC listing’s release date. The page accessed on October 11, 2026, displayed a paid promotion ending October 22. That storefront snapshot does not confirm or disprove a separate offer elsewhere, and its price or promotion timing should not be generalized to other countries. Check the Steam listing.

Which store has the free download?
No store or platform for the alleged free download has been verified. The available information does not establish an authorized offer page, eligible regions, conditions, or whether any access would provide a permanent license rather than temporary access. Do not assume a download is official just because a page or post calls it free; look for matching terms on Rockstar’s channels or the named authorized storefront before installing or entering account details.
What time does the offer end in your region?
No verified cutoff time or time zone is available. The October 12 date in the report does not establish when the offer ends locally, or whether the deadline applies in every region. If an official offer appears, use the time and region stated on that offer page rather than converting the date from an unverified report.
