No. The available report does not confirm Privacy Display v2 for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and it does not establish three S27 Ultra improvements. A correction attributed to a Samsung Display global communications representative says the partial-privacy modes shown at MWC26 can be achieved with current Flex Magic Pixel (FMP) technology—not a new “version 2” implementation.
What Samsung Display reportedly clarified
Notebookcheck updated its March 4, 2026 report on October 5, 2026, attributing the clarification to an unnamed representative from Samsung Display’s global communications team. The representative said: “We would like to first explain that no new hardware is required to enable the various Partial Privacy display modes demonstrated with Flex Magic Pixel at the Samsung Display booth at MWC26. These capabilities are already achievable with the current FMP technology (and therefore not ‘next-generation’ or ‘version 2’ of the FMP technology).”
The correction changes how to interpret the demonstration: its different partial-privacy modes are not evidence of a second-generation FMP technology. The report also says Samsung had not confirmed or hinted at privacy-display improvements for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Read Notebookcheck’s updated report.
What the MWC26 demonstration showed
The original account described demonstrations on prototypes that Android Authority considered similar to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. In those demonstrations, a selected portion of the screen appeared obscured while the rest remained visible. One example covered about half the screen; another covered somewhat less than one third. These are visual descriptions of demonstration modes, not published performance measurements or specifications for a retail phone.

The report also described full-screen privacy and hiding sensitive information such as passwords and notifications in the context of the demonstrated functionality. That does not establish that any of these capabilities will ship on the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The report does not identify three improvements for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The partial-screen examples describe modes shown at MWC26, while Samsung Display’s correction says those modes are already achievable with current FMP technology. Neither point confirms a new phone feature, a hardware change, or a three-item upgrade list.

For now, the accurate distinction is between a technology demonstration and a confirmed product specification. A future comparison would need official details about selectable privacy regions, selective hiding of sensitive elements, hardware requirements, readability with privacy enabled, and compatible devices. The cited report does not establish those details for the S27 Ultra.
