The date difference does not establish two separate worldwide launches. PlayStation’s announcement gives October 29 as the headline date and explains that October 28 applies to the United States and selected regions. Steam’s October 28 display is consistent with a localized store date.
What the PC confirmation actually means
Phantom Blade Zero has a live Steam store listing naming S-GAME Studio as developer and S-GAME Publishing as publisher. That is direct confirmation of a Windows PC release through Steam, not merely a statement that the game is being considered for computers.

Steam is the PC storefront directly established by the official material. An Epic Games Store result appeared in searches, but the primary listing reviewed does not establish Epic availability. Until the publisher posts a confirmed Epic page, PC buyers should rely on the Steam listing rather than assume a second storefront will launch simultaneously.
How to verify the PC listing
- Open the Steam client or Steam’s website and search for Phantom Blade Zero.
- Check that the page identifies S-GAME Studio as developer and S-GAME Publishing as publisher.
- Read the release-date line in your store region; Steam currently displays October 28, 2026.
- Before pre-ordering, review the hardware requirements and supported features when Valve and the publisher publish them. Those requirements are not included in the platform evidence summarized here.
Why PlayStation 5 is confirmed
PlayStation’s US product page identifies a PS5 version and lists October 29, 2026. A PlayStation Blog announcement dated August 17, 2026 also describes a PS5 pre-order and repeats the October 29 launch date, with October 28 specified for the US and select regions. These two official PlayStation references establish PS5 as a launch platform.
The confirmation is for PlayStation 5. The reviewed materials do not identify a PlayStation 4 edition, so a PS4 version should not be assumed from the existence of a PlayStation listing. Likewise, the sources do not state whether a PS5 purchase includes a separate PC license, cross-buy entitlement, or cross-progression.

Finding the console version
On a PS5, search the PlayStation Store for the exact title and verify that the product page labels the version as PS5. The product page’s date and edition information can vary by account region, so use the date shown for your own storefront when planning a download or pre-load. The PlayStation Blog post is useful for the publisher’s stated regional-date explanation, while the store page controls what your account can purchase.
Understanding the October 28 and October 29 dates
The developer changed the schedule from September 9 to October 29, 2026. Soulframe Liang, S-GAME’s founder and CEO, announced the move in a Steam-published message. That change supersedes the earlier September date; any older article or video repeating September 9 is out of date.
PlayStation’s wording is regional: October 29 is the general announced date, while October 28 applies in the United States and select regions. Steam displays October 28, which is why a PC shopper may see a date one calendar day earlier than the headline on PlayStation’s product page. Storefronts commonly render release times against a user’s local region, and the available evidence supports treating these as localized displays of the same launch schedule.

If the exact hour matters, wait for the countdown or release-time notice on your own Steam or PlayStation Store page. The sources establish dates, not a universal launch hour, preload window, unlock time, or physical-disc street date.
Are Xbox or Nintendo Switch versions coming?
Xbox and Switch versions are not currently confirmed by the official listings reviewed. That means there is no supported release date or platform commitment to cite for either system. It does not prove that ports can never happen; it only describes what S-GAME and the platform holders have publicly established in the materials available for this announcement.
A responsible answer therefore has two parts: buy or wishlist the game on PC or PS5 if one of those platforms suits you, and do not pre-order an Xbox or Switch edition based on retailer placeholders, search snippets, social-media speculation, or assumptions about the Unreal Engine. A future port would require a new announcement or an official store listing.

What would count as confirmation?
- An official S-GAME announcement naming Xbox or Nintendo Switch.
- An Xbox Store or Nintendo eShop product page published by the relevant platform holder.
- A platform-specific release date, rating, or pre-order page from an official source.
Until one of those appears, articles should describe Xbox and Switch availability as unannounced, not available and not impossible.

Platform context helps explain why the release is being discussed as a major PC and PS5 action game. PlayStation describes Phantom Blade Zero as a dark wuxia action RPG built with Unreal Engine 5. You play Soul, a swordsman with 66 days left to live after being framed for murdering his master and hunted through the Wulin.

It also names three difficulty modes: Wayfarer, Hellwalker, and Sixty-Six Days. Those are product features published by PlayStation, not independent performance measurements, so they do not tell you how demanding the PC version will be or whether one platform receives different content.

The game’s dark wuxia setting, weapon collection, and difficulty choices are shared context for the confirmed PC and PS5 versions. The available platform announcements do not state that Xbox or Switch editions would be technically impossible, nor do they promise feature parity across any future port.
What PC and PS5 buyers should check before launch
PC checklist
- Confirm that your Steam account region shows the intended October 28, 2026 date.
- Wait for official minimum and recommended specifications before deciding whether to upgrade hardware.
- Check storage, operating-system, controller, and display requirements when they are added to the Steam page.

None of the reviewed announcements establish a physical edition, a separate PS4 release, PC system requirements, cross-platform multiplayer, or cross-progression. Those details should be treated as pending until they appear in an official product page or publisher announcement.
Which version should you choose?
Choose the Steam version if you want to play on a PC and are comfortable waiting for the final hardware requirements and PC feature list. Choose PS5 if you prefer a console purchase and want the platform directly named in PlayStation’s product and pre-order materials. There is no evidence in the reviewed sources that one confirmed platform receives an exclusive story, weapon set, or difficulty mode.
Do not choose based on the one-day date difference alone. October 28 on Steam and in the US and selected regions, and October 29 in PlayStation’s general announcement, describe regional storefront timing. Your account’s store page is the practical authority for when you can buy, download, and launch.
Bottom line for Xbox and Switch shoppers
Phantom Blade Zero is a confirmed PC-and-PS5 release. The current announcement set does not confirm Xbox or Nintendo Switch versions, and no release dates are available for them. Recheck S-GAME’s official channels and the relevant console stores if you are waiting for a port, but do not treat rumors or unverified retailer pages as confirmation.
