No official PC release is documented. Rockstar’s official game page lists Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PSP, but not Windows or any other PC platform. Consequently, there is no Rockstar PC port with an official feature list to evaluate.

The expanded Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix is also a console release: PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It preserves the original game’s cities, cars, and music, then adds 24 vehicles, Tokyo, new music, new races, and battle maps. Those additions belong to the console edition, not to a documented PC version.

What Rockstar’s official platform record says

The most reliable answer comes from Rockstar’s own game listing. It identifies Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition as a Rockstar San Diego production released on April 11, 2005, with PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PSP listed as the supported platforms. PC is absent from that record.

An omitted platform is important here because the official listing is the company’s product record, not a marketplace description or a fan database. On the evidence available from Rockstar, the game was released for those three consoles and no official Windows edition is established. That wording is deliberately narrower than saying that no one has ever attempted to run or adapt the game on a computer. Unofficial emulation setups, compatibility experiments, and community projects are separate from a Rockstar port and can have different legal, technical, and preservation issues.

#1 Best Overall
Midnight Club 3 (DUB Edition) - PlayStation 2
  • Race on American streets in San Diego, Atlanta, Detroit and more - you'll go faster than ever on much longer streets, reaching insane speeds
  • Get from checkpoint to checkpoint while you outmaneuver aggressive computer-controlled rivals - or even more aggressive human racers, in online mode
  • Car crashes are painfully realistic, thanks to the new cutting-edge damage modeling - watch as you expensive, fancy ride turns into a smoldering husk
  • New Garage Mode for adding high-end customization to your racing machine
  • Add style to your ride, with wheels customized with parts from Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Ducati and more

Rockstar’s official downloads page also lists artwork and vehicle images for the title. Those assets confirm that the game is represented in Rockstar’s official catalog; they do not add a PC platform or prove that a computer edition was sold.

What the original DUB Edition includes

The original game is built around street racing rather than closed circuits. Rockstar’s description emphasizes city driving, licensed-style customization, and competition in an open urban environment. The official feature wording highlights customization of cars and motorcycles with new wheels, styling parts, and performance upgrades.

City-based racing and exploration

Instead of treating every event as a conventional track race, the game sends you through city streets. Rockstar’s support guidance recommends Cruise mode as a way to learn the layouts, locate shortcuts, discover back alleys, and find jumps before trying to win events. That advice explains why memorizing the environment matters: a route that looks longer on a map can be faster when it includes a jump or a useful alley.

Driving techniques documented by Rockstar

Rockstar’s support tips call out several techniques that define the handling model:

  • Nitrous: Save the boost for moments when acceleration will create a real advantage rather than spending it immediately.
  • Slipstream turbo: Following an opponent closely can provide a speed benefit, but giving another racer an easy slipstream can help them overtake you.
  • Two-wheel driving: The game allows a motorcycle or car to run briefly on two wheels, a maneuver that can help with positioning and style.
  • Powerslides: Controlled sliding is part of turning quickly through urban corners.
  • Different vehicle handling: Cars and motorcycles do not all behave alike, so test-driving a vehicle is more useful than choosing solely by appearance or headline performance.

These points come from Rockstar Customer Support, whose game-tips article was last updated March 16, 2024. They are useful guidance for the play experience, but they should not be mistaken for a complete technical specification or an exhaustive feature inventory.

Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix (Renewed)
  • This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear. It may come repackaged in a generic case.

Customization as a core system

Customization covers both appearance and performance. Wheels and styling components change the look of a vehicle, while upgrades affect how it performs in races. The official description does not provide a complete item-by-item catalog of parts, so claims about an exact number of customization pieces or every available upgrade would go beyond what Rockstar documents.

What DUB Edition Remix adds

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix is an expanded console release announced by Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar on February 3, 2006. The announcement identifies PlayStation 2 and Xbox as its platforms. It does not identify Windows, macOS, Linux, or another computer release.

Remix retains the original content and adds:

  • All cities from the original game
  • All original cars
  • All original music
  • 24 new vehicles
  • A new city: Tokyo
  • New music
  • New races
  • New battle maps

The number “24 new vehicles” is the specific content figure in the 2006 announcement. It describes the additional vehicles in Remix, not the total vehicle count for the game and not a statistic about sales, players, or performance.

“We’re giving them access to all-new cars, a new city and new music with Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix, along with all the speed and style that defines the series.”

— Dan Houser, Rockstar Games Vice President of Creative, in the February 3, 2006 announcement

Because Remix is an expanded PS2/Xbox edition, its Tokyo map and other additions should not be described as features of an official PC port. A PC player who encounters a listing promising “Remix for Windows” is looking at something outside the official platform record.

Original release versus Remix

Release Officially documented platforms Content established by the official source
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition PlayStation 2, Xbox, PSP Street racing, car and motorcycle customization, wheels, styling parts, upgrades, and the original city-based game structure. Release date: April 11, 2005.
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix PlayStation 2, Xbox All original cities, cars, and music, plus 24 new vehicles, Tokyo, new music, new races, and battle maps.
Official PC edition Not listed No Rockstar-documented Windows release or PC-specific content list is established.

The table separates two questions that are often mixed together: which edition contains particular content, and which hardware officially supports it. Tokyo and the 24 added vehicles belong to Remix, while neither the original release nor Remix has a documented Rockstar PC SKU.

What “the PC port includes” means in practice

For this title, the answer is not a list of missing PC options, graphics settings, or downloadable extras. There is no official Rockstar PC port for which those details have been published. That means you should not expect an official installer, a Windows-specific control scheme, a PC resolution menu, keyboard-and-mouse support, official PC patches, or a Rockstar-supported online or save-data format.

Descriptions on auction pages, video titles, file-sharing pages, and forum posts can use “PC” to describe an emulator package, a fan conversion, a compatibility layer, or a repackaged console image. Such labels do not change the release platform. Verify what the seller or project actually provides before treating it as a port, and keep any unofficial software clearly separate from the original console product.

Can you play it on a Windows computer?

Official installation

There is no documented Rockstar Windows installer to download or activate. A Windows storefront search that does not return the game is consistent with the official platform record; it is not evidence that a hidden PC edition exists elsewhere.

Console emulation

Some players use emulation to run software made for a console on a computer. An emulator is not a port: it reproduces a console environment rather than converting the game into a native Windows application. Emulator compatibility, required hardware, controller setup, image quality, and legal rights to the game data vary by system and jurisdiction. The official sources cited for this title do not certify a particular emulator or guarantee a particular frame rate, resolution, or feature set.

Community projects and fan builds

Informal references to PC projects exist, but an authoritative source establishing their current status and included features was not verified. Treat any such project as independent software. Check the project’s own documentation, release date, supported game edition, installation requirements, and legal distribution terms rather than assuming it contains every feature of the console release.

How to identify the correct physical edition

If you want an original copy, the official platform record points to a physical PlayStation 2, Xbox, or PSP product. A used-game listing can still be misleading, so inspect the item rather than relying on a headline.

  1. Confirm the platform. Look for the actual PS2, Xbox, or PSP edition. “PC,” “Windows,” or “download” in a listing title is not supported by Rockstar’s platform record.
  2. Confirm the edition. Decide whether you want the original DUB Edition or Remix. Remix is the one with Tokyo, 24 additional vehicles, new music, new races, and battle maps.
  3. Check region compatibility. Verify the regional format of the disc and whether your console accepts it.
  4. Check condition and completeness. Ask whether the disc, case, manual, and any original inserts are included, and look for scratches or other damage.
  5. Check the seller’s photos and description. A box image that says “for PS2,” “for Xbox,” or “for PSP” is more useful than a generic title keyword. Do not infer a PC release from a seller’s category or search filter.
  6. Check the exact product before paying. Marketplace listings can combine multiple platforms or use an incorrect edition name, so confirm the platform and edition in writing when the listing is ambiguous.

These checks are especially important for Remix because an ordinary DUB Edition disc will not automatically contain the Tokyo expansion or the 24 additional vehicles.

Why online listings create confusion

Several naming patterns make this game look more available on PC than the official record supports. Sellers may omit the console name, marketplaces may merge versions into one search result, and users may describe an emulated copy as a “PC version” because it runs on a computer. A video showing gameplay on a monitor proves only that the game was displayed on that setup; it does not establish that Rockstar released a native Windows build.

There is also a version-name trap. “DUB Edition,” “Remix,” and a generic “Midnight Club 3” label can refer to different discs and platforms. Before comparing features, identify the exact edition and original hardware. Remix’s expanded content should not be used to advertise the base game, and the base game’s platform list should not be expanded to include PC.

A precise answer for common search questions

“Is Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition on PC?”

Not as an officially documented Rockstar release. Rockstar lists PS2, Xbox, and PSP for the 2005 game, with no PC platform listed.

“Can I play Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix on Windows without an emulator?”

No official Windows version is documented for Remix. The official announcement covers PS2 and Xbox. Playing it on Windows without an emulator would require an unofficial conversion or compatibility project, and no authoritative feature list for such a project is established here.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“Does the PC version include Tokyo and the 24 vehicles?”

There is no official PC version to which those additions can be assigned. Tokyo and the 24 new vehicles are documented as Remix content for PS2 and Xbox.

What is established—and what is not

The official record establishes the original platforms, the 2005 release date, the broad street-racing and customization concept, and the driving tips published by Rockstar Support. The 2006 announcement establishes Remix’s PS2/Xbox platforms and its retained and added content, including Tokyo and 24 new vehicles.

It does not establish a Rockstar PC build, a native Windows feature set, modern display support, PC performance figures, current digital availability, or the status of any particular community project. Keeping those boundaries clear prevents an emulator setup or an incorrectly labeled marketplace copy from being presented as an official port.
