Guns of Eschaton is planned as both a single-player and multiplayer game. The announced full release is listed with solo story progression, online co-op progression, and PvP invasions. The currently available Steam demo is a separate, single-player-only experience and does not list co-op or PvP.

Steam’s full-game listing describes the design as: “Full solo and co-op progression gameplay lets you experience the entire story your way or step into PvP and become a threat to others, making their road to salvation far more difficult.” That wording is the clearest current explanation of how the planned modes fit together.

How the planned single-player campaign works
Single-player is not an optional extra in the announced full release. The store description presents solo progression as one of the primary ways to experience the entire story. You should therefore be able to approach the campaign alone rather than needing a permanent group or an online connection for every story segment.

The demo gives the most concrete single-player experience available now. Its Steam page labels it a game demo and a single-player product. It is described as a standalone adventure that introduces the world, atmosphere, combat, enemies, weapons, and core systems. That makes it suitable for learning the basic play loop without arranging a multiplayer session.
Does Guns of Eschaton have co-op?

Is there PvP in Guns of Eschaton?
The full-game Steam description explicitly advertises PvP invasions. In this design, a player can enter another player’s journey as a threat, potentially making that player’s progress toward salvation more difficult. The demo is presented as a standalone slice rather than as an incomplete multiplayer build. The Xbox listing says console online multiplayer requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate. PlayStation
The PlayStation concept page lists the game as supporting one player and states that PS Plus is required for online play. The page does not provide a detailed co-op player count or explain how the planned invasion system will be enabled. For a multiplayer session, an active PS Plus entitlement should therefore be expected unless Sony or the game’s developer updates the requirement.
Can you play Guns of Eschaton with friends?

If you want story co-op
