No confirmed South Korean Adults Only rating has been published for Grand Theft Auto VI. A Korean report said a storefront showed a GRAC 19+ classification after a private board review, but the official Korean PlayStation listing says GTA VI’s age rating was still unconfirmed when that page was written. Until GRAC or another authorized Korean ratings body publishes a decision, the 19+ claim remains unverified.
What is confirmed about GTA VI in South Korea
The official Korean PlayStation listing
The official Korean PlayStation product page lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 with a release date of November 19, 2026. On that same page, PlayStation states: “Grand Theft Auto VI’s age rating is not confirmed as of the time of writing.” That is the clearest current public status for the Korean market.

A product listing and a release date do not, by themselves, prove that the game has completed Korean classification. The page establishes that PlayStation is preparing a Korean listing, not that a final GRAC or GCRB decision has been issued.

A secondary Korean article reported that the Korean storefront displayed a GRAC 19+ rating following a private board review. No authoritative GRAC rating record or public board statement confirming that decision has been identified. The report therefore should be described as a claim, not as a confirmed classification.

How game ratings work in South Korea
Rating is required before distribution
South Korean law requires games distributed in the country to receive a rating before distribution. The relevant bodies include the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) and the Game Content Rating Board (GCRB). The GCRB framework includes an Adult Only category.
That legal framework explains why a Korean release cannot simply rely on the ESRB rating used in North America. A Korean decision must be made under the country’s own classification system before commercial distribution.

GRAC regulations assess a game in its overall context. The listed considerations include:

These factors can affect the eventual category, but they do not predict the outcome for GTA VI. A game’s subject matter alone is not proof that a particular Korean category has been assigned.

The South Korean claim and the ESRB result are not interchangeable. They come from different jurisdictions, use different standards and categories, and do not establish one another.

Rockstar’s official website is its GTA VI destination, but neither that identification nor the ESRB entry confirms a South Korean rating.
Can people buy GTA VI in Korea?
The public information does not yet establish Korean retail availability. PlayStation has posted a Korean PS5 product page and a release date, but the page expressly says the age rating was not confirmed at the time of writing. A final Korean rating, local sales status and any platform-specific purchasing restrictions must be confirmed through an updated official listing or a published GRAC/GCRB decision.
Pre-order or storefront behavior can also change before release. A temporary label, a private review, or a cached page should not be treated as the final legal classification unless the responsible authority publishes the decision.

- Look for a public GRAC or GCRB record naming Grand Theft Auto VI, its publisher and the assigned category.
- Check whether the Korean PlayStation page has replaced the “age rating is not confirmed” notice with a formal rating label.
- Confirm that any reported category is attached to the Korean release, not an imported listing or a different platform version.
- Prefer a direct statement from PlayStation Korea, Rockstar Games or the Korean ratings authority over screenshots or summaries in secondary articles.
- Check the classification again near the November 19, 2026 release date, because pre-release information can be revised.
Bottom line
GTA VI is not publicly confirmed as Adults Only in South Korea. The 19+ report may reflect a storefront display or an internal review, but no authoritative public GRAC decision has been established. The confirmed Korean information is a PS5 listing with a November 19, 2026 release date and an explicit notice that the age rating was still unconfirmed. The confirmed ESRB result is separate: M for Mature 17+ in the United States.
