easySim is a prepaid travel eSIM for mobile data, not a replacement phone service. It can suit travelers who have a compatible, unlocked phone and want data across one or more supported destinations, but coverage, price, validity and fair-use rules depend on the plan. easySim says it covers more than 200 destinations; check the destination and plan details before paying. easySim’s official site
What easySim provides
easySim sells digital eSIM data bundles. You buy a plan, install its eSIM profile on a compatible device, and select that line for mobile data when you travel. There is no physical SIM to insert. easySim advertises plans from £2.99 and coverage in 200+ destinations on its 2026 homepage; the starting price is not a universal price, since the cost depends on destination and bundle. easySim
It is a data-only service: the easySim plan does not provide a phone number, ordinary voice calls or SMS. You can generally keep a primary SIM active for calls, messages and two-factor authentication, but your home carrier may charge roaming fees if that line uses its network. Google Play listing

Your device must support eSIM and be network-unlocked. easySim suggests checking for an EID as one clue that a device supports eSIM; it is not a substitute for confirming the specific model and its carrier-lock status. Check compatibility before purchasing, especially if the phone was bought through a carrier or in a different market. easySim compatibility guidance

How to install and activate an easySim eSIM
- Check the plan and destination. Confirm the destination is covered and read the selected bundle’s allowance, validity, activation conditions and fair-use terms.
- Install before departure over reliable Wi-Fi. easySim recommends setting up the eSIM before travel while you have a dependable internet connection. Follow the installation instructions for your device and plan.
- Select the easySim line at your destination. Set easySim as the line for mobile data and enable data roaming for that line, as directed by the vendor.
- Check when the plan starts. Country-specific bundles typically activate on arrival. A regional plan may activate earlier if you are already in one of its supported destinations. The exact trigger varies by plan, so use its terms rather than assuming validity begins on a particular day or at installation.

Does easySim work across Europe?
easySim’s Europe regional plan page lists 36 destinations and says the same regional eSIM can be used across them. Its listed destinations are Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Northern Cyprus, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and Vatican City. The Europe page advertises plans from £3.49 in 2026, with the actual price depending on the bundle. It describes fixed-data plans with hotspot support and says those fixed-data Europe plans are not throttled. Data allowances, unlimited plans and pricing
Compare the exact plan options for your trip rather than treating “unlimited” as a guarantee of unrestricted speed. TechRadar’s review, published August 21, 2026, reports that easySim unlimited plans throttle after 3GB of use per day. That is independent review reporting, not a universal term established for every destination bundle; read the current fair-use policy for the plan you intend to buy. TechRadar’s easySIM review

- Whether every destination is included and which local networks are available there.
- How much data is included and how long it remains valid.
- When validity begins, including whether activation is tied to arrival or another condition.
- Whether the plan is fixed-data or described as unlimited, and any daily throttle or other fair-use rules.
- Whether hotspot use is allowed and whether you need a local number, calls or SMS.
- Device compatibility, network unlock status and refund eligibility.
What if easySim will not install or activate?
First confirm that the phone supports eSIM and is unlocked, then check that installation was completed with reliable connectivity and that the line is selected for mobile data with data roaming enabled at the destination. easySim’s homepage states that it will refund a purchase if the customer cannot install the eSIM or activate the data bundle, contacts the company within six months, has not successfully installed the eSIM and has used no data. This is a conditional failure guarantee, not a general satisfaction refund. Who is easySim a good fit for?
It is a plausible option if your phone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked, you mainly need mobile data, and a suitable plan covers your itinerary. The Europe regional option may be convenient for a multi-country trip within its listed destinations; a country-specific plan may be more appropriate for a single destination, depending on its allowance and terms.
Look elsewhere or compare more carefully if you need a local phone number, included voice calls or SMS, have a locked or incompatible phone, or need an unlimited plan without a daily speed restriction. The available evidence does not establish a universal reliability advantage or savings versus other travel-data options, so the best choice depends on your route and data use.
